Our food took an hour to come out after ordering. We had the prime rib which came lukewarm. We asked for the bill and it took another 40-45 minutes to pay. We never got our waters refilled. I'd potentially forgive them for the food wait since it was "somewhat busy" but the bill wait was unacceptable. It was at the end of day and almost empty. Would not recommend.

Cotija is super salty, and that amount of it being loaded into the pepper resulted in a non-melted, solid mass of what tasted like pure salt. The relleno was pretty much inedible. I removed the cotija and just ate the pepper along with the accompanying rice and beans. It was not my finest relleno moment. Other than that, the experience wasn't bad. The place is quaint and clean, and the servers were very friendly. I probably should have just said something about the relleno, but also I felt like it was my fault because the menu did specify cotija. I just hadn't considered how salty that might be. If someone from the business reads this, please try the relleno yourself - it was NOT good. :(

The menu was different than what's posted here on Yelp (I should have taken a photo) but the dinner for 2 came with two massive spring rolls (not soggy as otherwise posted), beef chop suey with TONS of veggies and tender beef, chicken chow mein and sweet n sour pork. The dinner for two is really like a dinner for four or five - so much food! The wontons and the spring rolls had a spice I couldn't decipher and was a bit different than my usual Chinese spot. Overall it was really good and looks like we will be eating leftovers for a few days. The total for the dinner for 2 and small wonton soup came to around $36.

I will agree and disagree with some of these reviews from a perspective of a tourist but also someone who eats out a lot. The good: food was good, staff was friendly, ambience was enjoyable sitting outside near the lake in the shade. Family enjoyed the food, especially the fish although our pieces were crumbling and falling apart just touching them to move to other plates. Fries were good, tenders were good. Tartar sauce had a slight honey mustard taste which was a nice change. The bad: prices have gone up since last persons post 9 months ago. Items have increased $2-$3 dollars since then. Someone claiming the burgers were huge and could barely finish half of one, also confirmed by staff they were huge, was not so the case. It was a standard size burger I would compare to slightly shorter than a Big Mac at McDonald's. Other critique was the gravy on the poutine was slightly on the salty side as well. Dining bonus they give you 10% of at picnics ice cream and dessert place that is located next door. Overall it was a nice lunch but will cost you a considerate amount being in a tourist area. Our bill was $89 before tips for a family of 5 with a toddler sharing 3 entrees and drinking water.

A venue chosen for dinner during our 3-day stay in Harrison Hot Springs last week. A first-time…read moredining experience there for us. While in Hope, we had decided that we were going to try this restaurant during our Harrison stay. Daughter and I found the restaurant had moved to a new location since our last trip, and into a building that we were familiar with, and much larger than the former one they occupied previously. With the signage and all, it looked good to us. We called one afternoon to ensure they would be open at the time we wished to dine, and in a couple of hours were there and settled in for what we hoped would be an exciting new dining experience. We were not disappointed. Our host/server was very friendly, cordial, and sure helpful. We went in knowing quite little about Indian food, but had studied their menu beforehand back at the hotel, and took it with us to the restaurant. We showed her the dishes we had checked off as 'possibles' and sought her suggestions. This worked out perfectly -- we discussed all dishes, narrowed them down to a nice variety, and ordered. For a first time experience, I believe we did very well. We ended up with a rather nice selection of dishes - from appetizers to main dishes - a good variety of introductory tastes, and wonderful flavours. We had ordered 'mild' - the foods were definitely spicy, but about perfect for the three of us. We hope to have the opportunity to dine there again, and now have a good idea on how and what to order, and are looking forward to it. I know one thing for sure, we will each have a samosa - the samosa we shared this time was so good!!
