All the fairways are mowed nicely and I can tell watering has taken place. Greens are in decent shape. The driving range is a huge plus for me, I like to warm-up, and I like to come out at times and just practice. I can tell the maintenance crew has been really busy keeping the course in good shape this past year. The course has recently purchased about 8 or 10 more carts. It was easy to find one available, although it always helps to call ahead, they will reserve one for you if you let them know you are coming, up to about one week in advance. The staff here is very helpful and friendly. The drinks (coca cola/Pepsi fan) are ice cold, which is the only way I can drink them. My experience here has been great over the last two years. I now play here twice, and sometimes three days a week. Or come practice on the driving range if I am short on time for a full nine. It is a great place for family play if you have young children who like to come out with dad and/or mom. I believe the children play for free when accompanied by a playing adult. read more

It's a whole new course. Ignore the bad ratings as those were written years ago. Churn Creek is a fun well maintained course. The staff and players are friendly and you won't find a better price. Don't take the customers money for the driving range if you don't have any golf balls in the machine and have no one to collect them at all, to refill it. Also, DONT SERVE WARM BEER!!! The greens were soggy and had golfer holes in it. The fairways were dry and hard, hardly any grass and super bumpy. No one was at the counter for 10 minutes and golf carts were used up. read more

Grass was unmowed, rough was about a foot thick, greens are in bad condition, and ended up loosing 3 balls to the rough, but they have some good deals for kids, to golf free. read more

Churn Creek Golf has its difficulties. The price is kept down and they are working hard to bring it into shape. I have played here almost once a week for 5 months now and I find it to be a fun course to play. It has improved a great deal since I first started playing this year. The staff here are wonderful people and willing to help with all that they can. I read some comments here about the watering schedule, if you are offended about water hitting you, or playing around it in 101 deg weather this is not the best area for you to be playing golf. Maybe try a course 170 miles west of here and i believe it will work out better for you. Although it probably won't have $12 green fees. read more

For the money, though it isn't much, they could do much better. I went for disc golf, but the course is non-navigable without a guide. They have a map at hole 1 that isn't accurate. Udisc has never been updated. The local club has claimed to put in a lot of hours of work here, but I can't see where it happened. They claim that concrete Tee pads are all in for every hole, but I saw maybe 5 total. You just cannot navigate this without someone who knows the layout. This should be a free to play course until they figure out what they're doing. I won't be back. I gave it two tries and the second one solidified my opinion. This course is just a scam to collect money from golfers who should have better standards and expectations. I would expect that after 3 years they might be able to scrape some money together for tee signs. Every course within a hundred miles has tee signs. You know why? Because they are necessary. This was a waste of money, time, and energy. Don't get your hopes up for this place. read more

This course is AWFUL!!!! Over grown T boxes. Seems they never mow and greens are GARBAGE! Not sure how they are even open as a golf course. And it's super cool to have disk golf crap in the fairway so you can't hit your ball. I'll never be back. Need new owners ASAP read more

This course is by far the best value in town. For only $12 for a round of 9 holes you get to play on a well-kept, beautiful course. I've played Lake Redding Golf Course ($11 for a round of 9 holes) and I can tell you Churn Creek Golf Course was above and beyond what I experienced at Lake Redding. The staff member I checked in with at Churn Creek was very professional and the other golfers I interacted with on the course we're nice and friendly. I'm not an excellent golfer, but I really appreciate the game. The staff and golfers provided an atmosphere that helped me feel the course wasn't "out of my league," and the course itself provided the serene beauty I was looking for. This place is great! Deborah in the pro shop was extremely friendly and inviting. I'm from red bluff and usually play tucker but it was packed so we checked this place out. Safe to say this is our new go to! Yes the course needs help with the upkeep but for the price you can't beat it. Ever since Steve passed away this course has gone downhill quick. Gopher mounds everywhere, the greens are SO messed up they are practically un puttable. The sand traps are more like gravel traps. Then the website has wrong information and prices. It says and I quote "Thursdays $10 green fee all day". Then when you get there they tell you it's only for 9 holes. Whatever they can do to get you there. Part of the course looks like there are 20 meth smokers who have half finished projects and trash everywhere. Too bad, i used to really like this place, now i will never come back. Unless owners change and they actually give a damn. read more

Churn Creek Golf Course is the best value in Shasta County! I am from the East Bay Area of California and have been spoiled by playing some of the prettiest (and reasonably priced) courses in the state. I recently moved to the North State and had been searching for a new course to call my home. I don't normally care for 9 hole courses, so I reluctantly played Churn Creek with a friend of mine a few months ago in the beginning of the summer heatwave. I fell in love with the place. The fairways were in great condition despite the pounding 100+ degree heat. They are watered early in the afternoon and we actually found that it was a refreshing break from the blazing heat. They warn you up front about the early watering so play at your risk. We had an apocalyptic winter and spring with floods and a raging Sacramento River so the fairways were in awesome shape coming out of the rainy season. The staff is awesome! They are so friendly and willing to work with you to accommodate your tee time needs. The pricing is unbeatable, even if you get a cart with your round. Food and beverage also reasonably priced to complete the amazing time you will have playing here. I have become a "regular" here, playing every Wednesday and I also bring my kids on Sunday afternoon (they play FREE)! This is by no means Pebble Beach or the Presidio so if you think you're going to play a PGA Tour course for 12 bucks, please move on and please don't talk down about a course in great condition that should be charging way more than they do. Holly Crap!!!!!!!!! They Should be forced to shut the course down....I have never been so appalled at anything in my life but this field of Dirt should not be called a golf course. I teed off on the 1st hole and hit into what I call HELL......The nothing but dirt, gopher holes, and leaves..That about sums it up.....Such a JOKE..OH, and you will have to wait for the Toyota Pickup Truck that drives on the dirt course while your hitting your ball off of dirt. If I could give this place that you call a golf course 0 stars I would gladly. Not only do the employees (which seem to be only a few family members since they can't pay anybody enough to work there) treat their customers & the golf course like trash. I would have better luck putting on my carpet than these small so called greens. I only come here for the decent driving range that is falling to shit & $10 for a bucket of cracked & chipped balls!! Are you kidding me.. only reason I come here is because it's the only driving range you can hit your driver at in Anderson But honestly it's the customer service for me. Last time I went I waited 15 minutes in the pro shop & called multiple times to try to get somebody to come in there & nothing so I left. Flash forward I comeback again today to hit the range & they tell me there is no more balls so they can't give me any?!!! Are you serious go out there & pick some up for your customers it takes 10 minutes to get some balls for people & your gonna sit there & turn away much needed business because there is none inside the machine. I'm sure more people showed up but got turned away.. throwing money away & these people don't give a shit about it ALL I can say is DO NOT GO HERE. read more

I wanted to like this course. I gave it two chances. It's a 9 hole course but theres an option to play 18. My buddy and I paid for 18. After the first 9 were are approached by a very nice employee. He explains they need to put chemicals on the greens and need x amount of hours between doing that and when they open. Ok, its the end of the day, no big deal. He refunds our money and graciously gives us some driving range tokens and some buy one get one free cards. Flash forward to today, our second trip. We pay the extra to play 18 holes. On the 11th hole (Which is really the 2nd) the sprinklers turn on. We check our watches, its 5pm in June. Plenty of day light left and tons of people still playing throughout the course. We contact and elder man who was working the counter. He stated, "The sprinklers come on 5pm till midnight. Play around them." Play around them?! Are you kidding me?! We turned in our cart key and left. I will never return, nor will I ever recommend it. The first time was understandable, but the second time and that employee were ridiculous. read more
