Made my way to Montreal last month to tackle part of the 50 Best Restaurants in North America List…read more Beba sneaked in at #50, but honestly, in this gals opinion, it ranks Top 10 in my Beli app! Small restaurant with under 10 tables and a few bar spots. Yes, you need a reservation. If I lived in Montreal, this would absolutely be a once- or twice-a-month spot for me. Our server was wonderful and explained that the menu is designed for sharing. That was really a (nice) surprise, because honestly --- this may be a top 5 best value meal I ever had! We started with the montadito of mackerel with sesame and horseradish. Two pieces to a serving, and I'd say it is a two-bite appetizer. The fish was succulent. Literally melted in your mouth, and the horseradish was fresh, strong, and in all its glory. We also shared a salad of radicchio and escarole with potatoes, bean-aigrette, and pecorino. Really nice portion for two, and for such a simple salad, it was the perfect ease from mackerel into our entree. When we were visiting, we lucked out. Beba had been marinating, massaging, and whatever else one does to make a pork shoulder as tender and delicious as what we experienced. It was a Chef's special and accompanied by some grilled peppers and maitake mushrooms. The portion size was such that (sadly) we had a couple of pieces left over. Literally, I ate until I just could not eat another bite. I cannot recommend Beba more highly. It is truly a gem.

Whoa Nelly ! Lol. A much more approachable top 10 restaurant than others, Beba delivers on a mix of…read morecreative dishes with well crafted classics, served by down to earth people whom you can call your friends. The Keg was the perfect spot for a night out catching up with old friends in Montreal…read more My party was seated immediately upon arrival (I had a reservation) which set the tone for a smooth and enjoyable evening. We were fortunate enough to have Alex as our server, and he truly elevated the entire experience. He was knowledgeable, personable, and did an excellent job walking us through the menu and offering recommendations and specials. After hearing his suggestions, I decided on the Snow Crab Cluster paired with a Sirloin, baked potato, and a side of whisky peppercorn sauce. It was a fantastic choice. The steak was cooked perfectly to my liking, the crab was fresh and flavorful, and the whisky peppercorn sauce tied the steak together beautifully. The drinks were equally impressive, and the wine pours were generous enough that I definitely felt I was getting good value. What stood out most, however, was the service. Alex was attentive throughout the meal, ensuring everything arrived correctly and that our glasses never sat empty. Between the excellent food, delicious drinks, and outstanding hospitality, I couldn't have asked for a better place to spend the evening reconnecting with my friends. The Keg delivered on every level, and I'd gladly return the next time I'm in Montreal. Thank you!

Wedge salad was good and were seated quickly. Mixed greens salad was greens and bell peppers. Ambiance was subdued in the lounge.

Tables are jammed so close together you end up shoulder-to-shoulder with strangers, dodging servers and elbows the whole time. It's noisy, cramped, and stressful -- the opposite of a relaxing meal. Layout makes no sense: tiny two-tops shoved beside high-traffic zones, larger parties squeezed into corners with zero space to move, and some tables practically touching the entrance or washroom hallway. You feel rushed before you even sit down. Chairs are hard and wobbly, there's no room for bags or coats, and you're constantly getting bumped because there's barely an aisle. If you value personal space, forget it. Service suffers because of the overcrowding. Staff are hustling but clearly stretched thin, so basics lag -- water refills, cutlery, checking in after food arrives. Food comes out at odd intervals and cools fast in the drafty spots. The noise level is cafeteria-grade; you end up shouting across the table. Accessibility is an afterthought: tight turns, blocked paths, and nowhere to park a stroller or mobility aid without being in someone's way. This isn't just my night, either. A lot of other reviews for the Saint-Bruno location say the same things: overbooked, packed in, chaotic atmosphere, long waits even with a reservation, and staff forced to manage a floor plan that puts turnover ahead of comfort. The pattern is pretty clear -- maximize seats, minimize experience. If management wants repeat customers, they need to pull tables, widen aisles, fix traffic pinch points near the door and washrooms, add soft surfaces to tame the reverb, and stop overbooking peak hours. Until then, there are plenty of places nearby that won't make you pay to feel like you're eating in a hallway.
