Good food but really poor service. Very, very rude staff. I will never eat there again and recommend going elsewhere.

I went with friends and trusted their recommendations. I was a bit shocked when they ordered nine…read moreitems for the four of us, but soon realized that this was "small plates" style - I would liken to "Indian Tapas." It all arrived in those little silver bowls and the feast began. Not a one of those nine was even close to being mediocre. We had great fun recommending combos of bites to each other (try the pumpkin with the chicken tikka! Try the daal with the okra!). All scrumptious. It's off the beaten path, but fairly easy to get to considering London's amazing trans options. Something to note for US Indian food peeps: the Saag Paneer is made with coconut milk - sweeter than anything I've had in the US. I loved it, and was told by my pals this sweet style is common in the UK. Wine selection was small but adequate and well chosen. Prices were very reasonable for the excellent quality (we all had wine, beer or cocktails and ate our fill for 20 quid per person). Service was EXCEPTIONAL. Three men attended to us and never missed a beat. My UK friends tell me that of all their Indian food adventures, they feel Nazmin's is the finest specimen of British Indian they've had. My dining adventures in the UK are more limited, but I've had loads of Indian in my time and feel very confident in recommending this as a dining experience that will NOT disappoint!

The food here is decent and the service is pretty good. If you live in the area and like Indian…read morefood then I would recommend it. It's not fantastic and I have had better curries in London. However it is far from the worst I have tried. Living close by I have frequented and not been disappointed. It is standard Indian fare. They have an abunance of choice, the grub is decent and you can wash down with a Cobra or two. I find that they tend to cook with a bit too much oil and the food can be a bit greasy (or greasier than it should be). I grew up in South Yorkshire, where there are a lot of good Indian places. I regularly visit one's better than Nazmin's when I travel up North and hence me only giving 3 stars. Decent Indian grub, without beng spectacular. Worth a try if you live close by, but I would not recommend travelling too far for.

Not being a local, it's hard to decide between the many curry restaurants lining Upper Tooting…read moreRoad. So I took note of an award given to Spice Village on its window saying it was the favourite curry house of the locals. Not sure though about a picture of the local MP eating here with the stock of MPs being at a historic low. It feels like a family restaurant with a lot of functional tables in the dining area and in common with most of the Upper Tooting restaurants, an open kitchen. I loved watching the chef make my roti in the tandoor oven. A bad start as they didn't have onion bhajis, my first choice starter and the mango lassi tasted artificial, possibly from a bottle. However, the methi gosht had nice spicing - fenugreek I think being the predominant flavour - and the lamb was tender. The roti was light and a good foil. 3.5 stars but not quite enough to tip it into 4 stars at the moment.

Came here with some friends who used to live in the area and knew the best local joints. They told…read moreme about this place and that it was great value, had tasty food all in a simple location. They were right, except about the location. Since my friends have last been there they have totally renovated the place and now It's a stunningly fancy setting with long couches for seats, multiple chandeliers hanging from the ceiling, and an intimate vibe. Don't be too intimidated though, you won't need a shirt and tie. Service was fast and efficient. Expect a wait if you don't make a reservation, so try to phone ahead. I ordered the peshwari naan which is sweet and stuffed with cream and a cocoon filling. It's really a meal on it's own, but I had it with the lamb korma, which was fantastic. It was served piping hot, and was deliciously sweet and nutty. Even with the fancy decor, prices are still reasonable with Nann between £2-3 and the dishes from £7 and up. My korma was £9. I look forward to returning and would recommend the place for anyone who would like a nice curry in a nice setting.
