It's been many years since I posted my first review, and I still return to Dr. Chuy whenever I'm in California for overall health maintenance, as well as any health complications, which are very uncommon. He's learned even more than when I first was treated by him, and his technique for each modality is amazing. I've had very intense tension in my upper back from the hectic events in the past couple months, and my mental focus was diminished. I also had less energy and I'd notice my mind being scattered. I make sure to visit him each time I visit from Hawaii, and I went several times to help with these issues. Just from the first visit, I felt so much lighter and looser in my shoulders, shoulder blades, and around my neck. It was a such a huge relief! Dr. Chuy started with acupuncture on me, and he combined that with moxabustion, which he said was to help with my kidneys and liver. It's really awesome how relaxing it is during the treatment, because sometimes it isn't until I'm getting treated that I realize how stressed i am, or how bad the tension is, and that wears on the body over time. After the acupuncture and moxabustion, he did cupping with the bottles and used some oil so he could move then around my back and dislodge the circulatory blockages deeper within my body. It's really amazing stuff. I'm so glad that Dr. Chuy utilizes different techniques, which also boost the effectiveness of each technique, and you'll feel amazing afterward! If you're in a ton of pain, he'll do what he can to alleviate the pain and help your body begin healing. I highly recommend seeing Dr. Chuy regularly, cause he will catch anything that's abnormal before it builds into something terrible. Dr. Chuy helped me with the pain I was having from a torn meniscus. I've been having excruciating pain in my knee for several months before I knew I had a torn meniscus. I came into chuys acupuncture in a lot of pain. I could barely walk around school. And then I got recommended by my friends dad to come here and I did. At 1st I was doubtful because I didn't really believe acupuncture would work but it did. It took more than one visit to fix my issue but I'm glad I got rid of it. I was fine after like 6 visits. (Depending on how severe it is) I was fine, running everywhere. I play baseball, football so I needed to get back to the field ASAP and I felt doing this would help and it did. Big impact on my ability honestly. Then about a 3 and a half weeks later I pulled my hamstring. And I am currently here trying to get rid of it. I know I can trust him, he always seems to get the job done and he is always willing to talk to you. It isn't awkward at all. He loves to talk and he is funny, great. My advice would be to come here if you want results instead of going to the doctors because all they will do for you is give you pain killers which only help for a certain amount of time then you will feel the pain after your Time limit is up . I have a history of bad back muscles and recently had them lock up on me while I was putting my son to sleep. I layed in bed for 2 days refusing to go to the emergency room because I could not sit there for half a day just to be given pain killers and sent home with no real solution to my problem. I ended up going to see dr. Chuy because he was so close to me and I have to say he really helped me out. I arrived 15 mins after he had already closed and he still helped me!! I was in excruciating pain and he took the time to make me feel better. After just one 30 min session with him my cramping almost completely has stopped. The session was not painful in the least, he is very very gentle and good with his hands. He must have put 30 needles in me and I swear I didn't feel anything!!
