In the meantime, I get a letter from Blue Shield stating the shot was denied because it wasn't nedically necessary. This is because the employee who filled out the request didn't know what she was doing. She didn't put in the appropriate information. My husband and I spoke to the office mgr, Mario. He promised us an answer. He never called us back. BTW: The doctor is not in network. He didn't even know if he was in network. We asked Mario for a cash price. We never received an answer. I guess they dont care about patients. One time I called, the girl at the front desk told me that the doctor sees 40 patients a day. That's another lie. No doctor sees that many patients. This doctor's office is the worst. I can't believe they stay open. Now, here's the cherry on the cake. We get a bill for $1,570.00. All we had was an office visit. When we asked what the price was for an office visit, the doctor said $500.00. The doctor said, "Oh, something is very wrong here." No kidding!! A day before, I was called and informed that he had to cancel my appointment and couldn't see me for another month. Well, my friends, I complained. I didn't go nuclear; simply told them I was concerned about all the cancellations. The office called me back and gave me an appointment immediately. When I arrived, he called the office staff into the room, rambled on about how great he is, and then informed me that he would no longer treat me. He said it was because I had restless legs syndrome, and that "I would fall off, break my hip, and he would have to go to jail." At that point, I was stunned by his behavior. Later, I realized he displayed narcissistic behaviors--love bombing in the first appointment, unable to tolerate any criticism, and blaming me. Not saying he is a narcissist--I can't make that diagnosis, but he is not right. I'm sad that it turned out that way.

I'm obviously not a dentist, but even to me, the before and after photos showed very obvious changes in my teeth. What was completely upsetting was that while we looked at these photos together he said that it was the camera angle, and that the photos do not show change. He did some biting "tests," even when we reviewed the data I thought it showed there was changes in my bite, but he still denied it. I TOOK THE PHOTOS TO 4 DIFFERENT DENTISTS WHO ALL AGREED THERE WAS SIGNIFICANT CHANGE IN MY TEETH AND THAT IT WAS DONE BY THE MOUTH GUARD DR. STENDER PRESCRIBED ME. Only after I finally replied to his auto generated survey from his office, did he contact me and say that he can continue to treat me with the mouth guard, but will monitor further changes by measuring the gaps in my teeth.
