Overall: Pros: Great price, fast service, professional installation. Cons: Shade-tree-mechanic feel, cash only, don't send your mother, wife or daughters. I needed to have my windshield replace because of a fix it ticket. I called around to a few places and Chuy's had the best price, so off I went. The Good: The replacement windshield was OEM and because I had called ahead was ready as soon as I arrived. The workers immediately began working. They were quick, attentive to detail, and did a professional install. I was very impressed at the overall job at Chuy's. It has been over six months and there have been no issues with the windshield. The Bad: There seemed to be a shade-tree-mechanic feel to the place. The workers seemed like less than model citizens. It is not the place I would feel comfortable sending my mother, wife or daughters. Noting this, a question popped into my head. At any other place I wouldn't feel the need to ask, but something about this place suggested that I better. "You do take debit cards, right?" The owner/manager's answer, "No, cash only." The Ugly: Houston we have a problem! 1) I had no cash on me. 2) My vehicle - now without a windshield - was in no condition to be driven to the nearest ATM. I relayed this to the owner/manager. "No problem, one of my guys will drive you to an ATM." While I was not at all comfortable doing this, I had little choice. I text my wife with what was happening - just in case. One of his workers drove me to an ATM in the "not so nice" part of town. The worker stayed in the car - which made me feel a bit more comfortable. I withdrew the amount needed and then back to the shop we went. By the time we arrive back at the shop, my windshield was finished. I paid the owner/manager and I was on my way. read more

Let's just start by saying I only gave the 1 star so I could leave a review. Took my car there to get some glass replaced. Watched while they were working on the car and noticed dents in the door they were working on that were not there prior to bringing the car to Chuy. When I pointed them out to him and showed him how what he was doing caused the damage, Chuy stated that there was no way he could have damaged the car. He then became angry that I accused him and stopped the job mid-way and told his employee to throw the glass that they had vacuumed out back into the car. Acted like a complete child and not a professional business owner at all. We'll see how he acts when he's in court trying to get out of paying for the body repair. Again, if I could have zero stars it would have been more accurate. read more

Someone shattered my front window on my Mercedes C300, trying to break in (I assume). I called Chuy's and he told me to bring it in to make sure they ordered the right window. This is the second time we visit Chuy. The first time he replaced the full windshield on our Subaru Forrester. He charged about a fraction of what the dealer was asking and did an excellent job. Authentic parts too. It's been a year and we haven't had a single issue from his installation. More recently we went to f seal a small chip before it spread. Again. Great job. There's no waiting area so my advice is to get a friend or fam member to go with you so you can drop off the car. You could pull up a chair but you'd be literally be in sitting in his shop. I'd rather have good work and better prices than a waiting area with bad coffee. He's a good guy and super patient. He might seem in a hurry but that's only because he has so much work. I have a 2015 Mitsubishi Mirage for a commuter. My window wasn't rolling up so I took my car here. Jose looked at my drivers side window and said the window regulator was bent. It was a dealer part so I had to order it from Camacho Mitsubishi. When it came in I took it back to Jose and he replaced the part in less than an hour. I was very upset with this places conduct, the glass was there when they said it would be. They said they would all when done they did not. When I picked it up three gentlemen were in the office smoking pot. Glass was done fine however it was a rear hatch door and they neglected to tell me that they would not clean the broken glass out of the inside of the door. The remaining glass not only rattled but ended up jamming the lock so the door would no longer open. I called them and they basically said tuff luck for you. I had to take me car to a different place ending up costing me more money that if I have gone to a better shop in the first place would have ended up less expensive, REMEMBER YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR! read more
