So here's the problem with this place. The Cadillac with the open trunk. I watched people build nacho platters then go back to their seats where they drank waters. So essentially people are eating there for free. It was a disqusting mess. We walked out about 10 min after getting there. It was like a frat party so loud you could have a conversation. Went to on the border where it's clean, waiters are super nice, food is fantastic. Chuys can keep their baby sitting club house. We'll go elsewhere. read more

After all these years, my wife and I finally decided to eat at Chuy's. What is the matter with me??? I can't believe I waited so long! Chuy's has some of the best and FRESH Tex-Mex period. And I do stress the word FRESH! The chips are so good and the salsa was very very tasty. You also need to try the creamy jalapeño dip... fantastic! My entree was the very delicious "The Elvis Presley Memorial Combo!" And to top it off was the Tres Leches Cake. Some of the best I've ever ate. friday noon lunch. short wait for a table. service in my view was slow. asked for regular salsa, said they didnt have any, well... we have a "table salsa" taste meh. additional napkins were requested had to ask twice. didnt want to use napkins left from previous diners. i ordered beef fajitas and they were pretty good. beans and rice was so-so. setup was ok. had to ask for water refills. i just prefer locally owned restaurants for mexican food. we had a gift certificate otherwise would not have dined there. read more

Drove 35+ minutes to go. That's how much I love Chuy's. My favorite thing to order is the fish tacos with extra cabbage. Oh and how I enjoy the green sauce, salsa and chips. We usually order the ponchos with fajita meat as well. So I went last night and to my horror they don't sell the fish tacos. That menu has been thinned out. So I decided to try the shrimp tacos extra cabbage. They were good, but still prefer the fish. Also no extra cabbage for me. I didn't say anything, I just let it slide. We also ordered ponchos with fajita meat these used to be a 10 out of 10 last night they were at 6. We of course asked for green sauce to go with the salsa and chips. Both the salsa and the green sauce set my mouth on fire. I usually order water with lemon. So I drank water with no lemon to try and take away the heat. Damn it Chuy's!!! I don't think I will be driving 35+ minutes to go eat again. My heart is heavy. read more

Very good! Fun ambiance, but a little too noisy. That's true for a lot of restaurants, however. The staff was friendly. The burrito I ordered was so delicious and filling, and I only ate half! Called 30 min before closing to see if Chuy's could accommodate our entire Little League team. They were awesome and told us to come- we arrived 5 minutes before closing with a party of 50. (What a jerk move on our part but kids were starving). The servers, cooks, and managers all worked their tails off -- with a smile. The service was INCREDIBLE- and they really went out of their way for us. Food and drinks were excellent. read more

It's been over 3 months and the area manager Mr Bazaar has still not called us or responded to our issue that we had. He had called us the day after we left the review saying "I will personally get this handled if you'll dont mind coming back to the store where the crew who treated you'll so bad will apologize so that we can correct this matter".... Unfortunately these were just fake words he used to calm us down never called me back to set up a time or date. Infact I left him messages but never responded. I am reading the previous reviews and can't believe what I'm reading! Come on people, this is Texas, I am having a really hard time believing you people called that slop good! That was the worst excuse for Tex-Mex I have ever tasted in my life. People, you were eating reconstituted beans for heavens sake! What kind of a Mexican food restaurant doesn't make fresh beans? The rice was bad, and my tacos were planted in the beans and were all mushy on the bottom. Maybe it's because I grew up where Mexican food was plentiful and authentic and then lived on the Mexican Border for awhile and know what real Mexican food taste like, but this place has a long way to go before my family will ever go there again. read more

Personally I didn't like this place because it too crowded, we (a group of party) had to wait outside in the hot heat for an hour or so. Not a lot of space to move in the inside. My drink was good though. I wouldn't go here again though. read more

Hallelujah! Looks like somebody in management listened to my last review of the Tyler Chuy's location. We tried this place again a couple of weeks ago and again last week. My husband and I were both overjoyed to find the food and service had both improved a hundred times over and was now on par with the Chuy's food and service we had grown to love when we were living in South Texas. My chili relleno was spectacularly crisp and delicious and my husband's Pancho nachos were plentiful and so good he didn't leave a single morsel. The sirloin tacos were delicious as was the Tex Mex enchilada. The chips were hot and fresh and the creamy jalapeno dip was just right as was the fresco sauce. So happy to see the improvement in a Texas chain restaurant that has grown to be one of our favorites. read more

Glad they opened a Chuy's in Tyler! For those carnivores seeking to ride the fine line between painful and delicious, I recommend the steak burrito. Its a large burrito stuffed with steak, cheese, and smothered in hatch green chili salsa that will rip your lips off your face, but you'll like it. read more

Honestly, Chuy's never fails to disappoint! Love the chicken combo #9. Feels light yet tons of food. The chalupa is HUGE and loaded with beans, shredded chicken, cheese, lettuce and tomatoes. Plus the soft fajita taco is bomb. The tortillas at the Tyler location are the best of any Chuy's I've had. The guac was meh this weekend but that was a one off. ASK FOR THE JALAPEÑO RANCH. they don't bring it out here and we saw some poor unfortunate souls go without because they don't know. It is life-giving. I basically ingest hundreds of extra calories dousing my entire meal with this stuff. Worth it. Great service! We sat on the patio on a Saturday night in August, 95 degree temps, and they have so many fans that it wasn't an issue. read more

Great atmosphere and great prices. They pull the meat off of the chicken for the food. One time my friend had a piece of bone in his meal while we were dining. I don't know what day they have free dip bar but it is definitely worth going that day. Will definitely be back. read more

This is on my must go-to list now when we visit Tyler! Our waitress, Sesalie, was AWESOME!! When she found out it was our first visit, she brought out a plate with all of their sauces so that we could try them. They have about 8 different sauces that you can top you food with. We got enchiladas, chile relleno, beans, and rice. Also guacamole as an appetizer. The food was GREAT!! Usually we find that there's something that we don't really care for, not here! Sesalie also brought us out some samples of their in-house adult beverages, the prickly pear was very tasty! We ended our meal with a complimentary tres leches cake, for our first visit. Everything from start to finish was fabulous! And the best part...it was affordable! We will see these guys again soon!! read more

Chuy's is great. I really like this kind of Tex Mex. My favorite thing to get is the Chica Chica Boom Boom enchiladas. Good red and green salsa. Queso is okay. Guacamole is good. Try a margarita with an upside down Corona in it called a beerita. Good stuff. Very reasonable prices. read more

I have never had a disappointing food experience here, I am totally addicted to the creamy jalapeno dip. I do have a little negative, the past 2 visits, there were significant customer service issues. We went on Mother's Day and I expected it to be crowded and that didn't bother me, what did bother me was the employee drama brought to my table. We had a new waiter come to our table and tell us our previous waiter had just quit and then he proceeded to bad mouth the former waiter...not long after that, the former waiter came back and assisted us, at one point, we had both assisting us and were even brought double refills on everything, obviously they were not communicating with one another. We weren't sure who to pay, was the old waiter going to pocket our money? Does he even work here? It was a mess. I went again today at about 5:20 PM, they weren't crowded at all. This time I got curbside take out instead of dining in. When I called, they became very unfriendly the second I requested to place an order to go. Then at pick up, I told the bartender what I was there for, he didn't go in the kitchen, didn't check on any kind of computer, didn't seem to do anything concerning my order, he acknowledged he heard me, even asked my name, but didn't do anything (that I could see) with that information. I STOOD at the bar for 15+ minutes while he went to the bathroom, waited on customers and made drinks for tables, he never explained to me it would be a minute or that someone would be out to help me, nothing...finally, I asked him what I was waiting for...he got a shocked look on his face and said "oh! are you waiting for something?" FIFTEEN + MINUTES I *STOOD* AT THE BAR IN PLAIN SIGHT and he asks me if I'm waiting for something, he had already asked how he could help me and my name, he KNEW what I was waiting for...is he serious?!? He then goes into the kitchen and a young girl comes out with a bag and she says "I'm so sorry, nobody told me you were here"...he did not come out of the kitchen before I left. Unbelievable. I did not put the Mother's Day incident on here because I can understand there are isolated incidences, but after today, I felt there may be deeper issues going on at this location. read more

First time eating here. Ordered the chicken burrito and had a hard time finding the chicken in all the beans. Could not taste the chicken over the beans. 10 bucks for a bean burrito was a little pricey to me and I would have ordered a bean burrito if that was what I wanted. My family and I have tried it 2 times now. As far as we are concerned it was 2 times too many. The beans are reconstituted, rice dry, chicken fajitas were over cooked and dry. Basically speaking we have eaten frozen dinners that tasted better. We ordered the fajitas for 2 and given 3 tortillas to share between the two of us. Really people? My favorite Mexican restaurant hands down. I absolutely love every meal i get here. My go-to is the steak burrito. This dish is my favorite out of any restaurant I've ever been to. The hatch green chile sauce is awesome. My wife likes the shrimp Baja tacos. She also likes the jalapeño ranch dip. I prefer the salsa. It tastes so fresh every time. I can't get enough of it. Our kids order a variety of things and i can honestly say that nobody in our family has disliked their dish. You must try Chuys. read more
