I had the "full" portion of the sweet potato gnocchi in a blush sauce with a side of Osso Bucco.

We only waited about ten minutes before we were given a table, as we were a party of seven, and a table needed to be prepared for us. We were seated near a table that was quite large, as they were celebrating a special occasion therefore, it was a tad loud in the area. We were then greeted by our server, whom, despite the noise, was pleasant and friendly, even making a slight nod to the noise level, and apologizing for not being heard. Once we had placed our orders, we were then brought our drinks, and a complimentary basket of bread, which was delicious. We waited about fifteen minutes for our main dishes to arrive, at which point, we were excited to receive. I had ordered the pizza with vegan cheese and pepperoni on it; and was pleasantly surprised at how delicious it tasted! I loved how the pepperoni was sliced, and how thick and luscious the pizza tasted. One of the best pizza dishes I had ever tasted! Throughout the meal, our server came to check-on us frequently, making sure that we were enjoying our time. Eventually, the noise level returned to a more acceptable rate, and we were able to hear each other better. Overall, I was really impressed with how amazing this place was; excellent food, wonderful service, and great atmosphere. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for an authentic dining experience in Windsor!

Got home and was really disappointed in the pizza. mediums were more like small and the slices were cut extremely small. The taste was ok but the crust was not to my liking. Very chewy and not as thin as I like it. I am from NJ and I have yet to find a pizza anywhere in Windsor like NJ pizza or even close. I was hoping this was the place but it turned out to be overpriced and uninspiring. Closer to Little Ceasars than NJ pizza. side note: the place was very busy which is usually a good sign the food is very good....but looks can be deceiving.

If you're going to…read moreaccidentally cross an international border, landing next to a poutinery isn't the worst. Frenchy's sits in a shopping center anchored by a Shoppers Drug Mart and a "Gaming Center" (aka casino). Walking up to the counter, I immediately noticed the lineup of meat choices and toppings. It's the kind of menu that makes you pause for a second, not because it's complicated, but because everything looks like a good idea. All sorts of protein options from Chicken to "Montreal Smoked Meat". I got the Gyro. Ordering was quick, and the food came out fast and fresh. The gravy was the standout. This wasn't that fast‑food slop. It was beefy, rich, the kind of gravy that actually tastes like something. Combined with the cheese curds and toppings, it made for a proper Canadian comfort‑food moment. And the portions? Massive. The kind of serving that makes you wonder if you accidentally ordered for two. Frenchy's is definitely playing in the "feed the masses" category, and they're doing it well. I took half my order back across the border for later. Bottom line: If you find yourself wandering into Windsor, intentionally or not, Frenchy's is a worthy stop for that authentic Pountne cuisine.

Arancini were excellent, I personally felt a little more pomodoro would be nice, but is not necessary since the arancini have good flavor and seem to be super popular by the sheer amount of them coming out of the kitchen. The pesto balanced the arancini well. The Brussels are good, a little under seasoned (I did not taste hot honey nor the yuzu aioli on any of the pieces I tried) but cooked well and the pecorino is lovely shaved. My meal, agnolotti piedmontese, was excellent. The beef inside was so tender, pasta cooked well, and the butter and cheese, finished with a potato crumb, was absolutely stunning. My husband had the pollo trevisano. The chicken was ok, was pretty bland, the only seasoning being salt, which came from the prosciutto, and the butter herb sauce, which seemed to lack any real depth. The mash was excellent. Also came with some broccolini on the side which was cooked perfectly. My grandmother got the octopus appetizer for her meal. The octopus leg was chewy/overcooked. On the flip side, the potatoes with bacon were delicious. The arugula was well flavored. Overall was the most disappointing part of the meal, barely ate the octopus that she was so excited for. My grandfather got an excellent rigatoni dish that I cannot recall the name of, and their website is currently not up to date with what their in house menu is so I do not know the name. I did not try it myself but It has veal, and either kale/cabbage leaves or some interestingly large spinach, as well as a delicious sauce. The veal was amazing, he raved about it endlessly and shared that dish with my grandmother. To end our meals, my grandparents split an Affogato, and I got a coconut and banana panna cotta. My husband was full from dinner and did not indulge on dessert. Service: 5/5 Between our server and the other staff keeping our drinks full, table bussed and reset, and the timely service, it was an excellent occasion. Our server did an awesome job checking on refills of wine. Ambiance: 5/5 Absolutely adorable corner location right on Erie and Howard. They have awesome seating, tables, and lighting. The tvs play old sitcoms. There are umbrellas hanging from the ceiling, that may seem silly at first, but seem to divert the AC/heating from blowing directly on their customers, which is a lovely touch. I've never seen any other restaurant do something like that to keep their customers comfortable, I applaud it. Overall, a great experience with decent food. If we decide to venture back, we will have to try the pizza, get some more arancini, and try some other dishes.

They didn't, but they had another similar Belgian ale that was great, so no complaints there! Our table started with the hand-battered chicken tenders and fried pickles. I really liked the light batter on both, and you could actually taste the beer in the batter, which was awesome. Three of the four of us ordered the Reuben, and the other ordered the Big Ed Burger. First off, all four of us commented on how good the sides were. The fries came out piping hot and crispy, and the house-made chips were honestly some of the best I've ever had. The burger itself had good flavor, but the bun was pretty dry and unappealing. With a better bun, I think it could go from good to great. As for the Reuben--the house specialty--I enjoyed it overall, but there were a couple things holding it back for me. The corned beef itself was 10/10. Super tender, flavorful, and absolutely the star of the sandwich. The bread, however, was very dry and crisp, but it had almost no color or toasted flavor to it. My other issue was the sauerkraut. This is definitely personal preference, but I like kraut with more tang and a little chew--almost "al dente," if we were talking pasta. This was extremely soft and mushy, to the point that there really wasn't any texture left to it. With that corned beef, a tangier kraut with a little bite and better bread would make this a fantastic Reuben. That said, I don't want those critiques to overshadow the experience. We enjoyed our food, and the service was great. Nichole (according to our receipt) was super friendly and took great care of us. I also really love the history and character of Jacoby's. In fact, I just recommended it to a family member today. I'd absolutely come back, and I already have my eye on trying the schnitzel next time!
