I take my grandma out for dinner every couple of weeks and it's a little tough to find new good restaurants in Windsor, but I can't believe I didn't discover this place sooner! Was searching for a new spot for a while before I came across this place, and it did not disappoint. We can be tough critics when it comes to Lebanese food because we make it so good at home, but this place comes very close to home-cooked Lebanese food, and with the best service you could ask for! On a quick visit to Windsor to get our nails done, we popped over to this space. The menu online looked great so we gave it a shot. The service was superb. Super friendly and accommodating. The portions were huge (we had leftovers) with a reasonable price. The establishment was clean and well cared for. This is definitely a place I'd visit again next year when back across the river. This restaurant is a GEM. Everything was fresh, delicious, presented beautifully, and tasted incredible. The cinnamon cardamom tea was served in a big double walled glass with true honey. We had a sampler that could easily feed four. The portions are generous and service was attentive and friendly. I only wish we had one in Miami. Highly recommended. read more

We to Souq Lebanese Grill for a birthday lunch today and it was amazing! Service was beyond my expectations and the food was delicious! We both had lunch entrees and added chicken wings which was strongly recommended. And boy were the good! The flavor and char on them was fire! Thanks Souq! I will definitely be back! We made a pit stop at Windsor during our road trip and went to Souq for lunch. A makeshift outdoor seating is setup at the parking lot for the COVID-19 situation. The service was good, the menu has quite a good options to select. We had the ras asfour (sautéed beef tenderloin with pomegranate and nuts, it's delicious. And had the vegetarian moussaka (layered roasted eggplant in gravy), it was interesting, a little oily, but good. Overall, it was worth the stopover and a good lunch. read more

I'm always shocked that the Middle Eastern food game in Cananda is so much better than in the US. Some of the best Palestinian, Lebanese, Iraqi, and other middle eastern meals came north of the border. I was driving from Leamington towards Detroit and saw the sign for Souq on the market. I recognized the word, I pronounce it "shook", as the word for market in Arabic, and decided that it might be a decent spot to stop for dinner. I walked in, saw that it had a few parties of muslims enjoying their meal, and proceeded to the counter to look over the menu. The prices were quite reasonable, the selection impressive, and after a bit of indecision, I went with their beef shawarma. I then proceeded to take a 15 minute stroll while they prepared my meal. Returning to pick up the meal, I decided to enjoy it by the Windsor waterfront, so I ate it 15 or so minutes later, and it was still warm, nicely wrapped in foil. I was impressed by the flaky pita, and the overall flavors and texture. I would happily eat here weekly, if I lived here. It's nice enough inside to have a date or fancy meal, yet affordable enough for everyday takeout of dining out. Plenty of parking and easy in/out makes it a stress-free visit. read more

Was in the mood for some Middle Eastern food while staying in Windsor. Have been to The Palace which was fine, and a couple of Shwarma places which were average. So my Yelp search pointed me to Souq. Ordered by phone the Mixed Grille with rice, and a bowl of lentil soup for take out. $33 which is not incredible value, but it was delicious and it filled me up. And I don't fill up easily. Big Caker here. Very clean, very authentic. Seems like a well run business and I will do more Pandemic takeout here while in Windsor. read more

My husband and I went to this restaurant over a month ago & it was amazing. I found this restaurant by googling them & after seeing their reviews decided to drive from Michigan to check them out. It was worth the drive. The best fattoush and rice I've ever had! the server was engaging, brought our food out promptly and did not hesitate to answer any of our questions. If you've had Middle Eastern food in Metro Detroit, this is similar but has some different dishes and flavors. The food is considered a mix of Moroccan and Egyptian. We ordered the fattoush tahini salad - a combination of cucumbers, tomatoes, scallions and a creamy tahini lemon sauce. It was very unique and tasty. Then we had the ras asfour appetizer. It had delicious chunks of marinated beef tenderloin with pine nuts, caramelized onions and pomegranate seeds. After this I was pleasantly full. My husband went on and had the moussaka. He really enjoyed the flavors. I tried it and wasn't a fan but I've never loved this dish. The service was good, the atmosphere clean and neat. The restaurant was not busy. It's been open six months and hopefully they'll start getting more business. We would definitely come again when in Windsor. And if Yelp allowed 4.5 stars, we'd probably give it that. read more

This is my 2nd time visiting Souq in the last 4 months this year and Souq didn't disappoint me. The ambience is so middle eastern with colorful cushions, Arabic decor and lovely ambience. We ordered lentil soup, cheesy potatoes, tabouli and a mix platter which served 3-4 people. The overall order took 25-30 minutes and we got well presented food right off the stove. We loved the cheesy potatoes which was hot, gooey on top and crunchy on the bottom. The kebabs on the platter were juicy, succulent and paired deliciously well with the side of garlic and the fresh tabouli salad. The tabouli salad with parsley, tomatoes, mint, fresh onions, lemon juice and olive oil hit the spot. The quantities were huge and we ended up with 2 to go boxes. Souq also serves some delicious desserts but we were so full that we just skipped. We also saw lots of to go orders while we sat there so it was a dine in and delivery experience together. read more

Had a wonderful first visit to Souq this weekend! The service was great, the decor/vibe was very nice and the food was awesome! There were so many dishes I wanted to try that I knew immediately I'd be coming back many more times to make my way through the menu. We ordered the Fatoush bi Tahini Salad which was delicious and fresh, the Tajine (roasted lamb stew with potatoes, carrots, olives and couscous) which was the ultimate comfort food dish, and the Kabsa (chicken with spiced rice and a house yogurt sauce) which was super flavourful. I love the variety of cultural influences featured on the menu. Souq is definitely delivering a genre of food Windsor hasn't seen before and you can't miss it! read more

Souq Lebanese Grill is my favourite restaurant in Windsor. I found it on Yelp, and it was the most amazing experience. The decor is fun and welcoming, as is Youssef. He made us feel at home and provided great recommendations for our lunch. The lemonade, freshly made, was fantastic! We ordered the Butter Chicken and Fattoush -- they were delicious and truly handmade by a talented chef. The whole atmosphere reminded me of my time in the middle east. Ordered dinner from Souq tonight. I have gotten tired of the same old, same old, when it comes to our dining out, and I found Souq on Yelp. So we placed an order for take out. I had the Kushari, and my girlfriend had the kufta wrap. Both dishes were flavourful, and the bread they made the wrap with was divine. The fries she had were baked, which was out of the ordinary yet they were still crispy when she got them home. All in all a delicious meal, and we will definitely be back. My only complaint, and it's not really a complaint is I wish there was just a bit more sauce on the Kushari. I think is I had a container of the tomato sauce I would drink it with a straw it was that good. I have already decided Shakshuka is my next try on the menu. Souq is now my favourite restaurant in Windsor. Their fattoush salad is the best I've ever had. The dressing is fabulous and it comes with fresh pomegranate seeds. Their moussaka is my favourite dish but I also love ordering their lentil soup. I really can't say enough about the quality of their food, no matter what dish you order, you won't be disappointed. Today again I visited my favourite lentil soup serving establishment for lunch. Why do I like Souq's so much? I'll tell you why. Their lentil soup is always the right temperature; not too hot and not too cold. It is supremely creamy and smooth. With a spoonful in my mouth, my tongue caresses it against my palate savouring its various flavours, vainly attempting to decipher the spices and condiments therein! The cauliflower wrap was awesome too! Great service!
