    Southwest Rice Bowl with Chicken
    Kai L.

This was my first time trying Breadless after hearing so many good things, and overall, my experience was just okay. I ordered the Southwest Bowl, which was decent but a bit under-seasoned and not particularly memorable. However, I also tried the Jerk Chicken Sandwich, and that one was definitely the highlight. It was flavorful, nicely seasoned, and spicier than I expected. The staff were friendly, though not especially helpful when it came to making recommendations. I did mention it was my first time, so I was hoping for a bit more guidance on what to try. It's mainly a takeout spot, but they do have a few tables inside and some nice outdoor seating, which would be great on a nice day. I plan to give them another try soon because I think it might've just been the menu item I chose. For now, I'd give them a solid three stars, but I'll update my review after my next visit.

Always love coming here when I'm back in Michigan! I usually go for the Jerk Chicken wrap, but I decided to try my dad's favorite, the BBQ Braised Beef, and it was great! I normally don't like beef, but it was seasoned very well. I will say it was a bit too chewy/tough for my liking, but as someone who doesn't eat beef maybe that's usually how it is? Love their chips too! Amazing service, as always. The staff is super kind and knowledgable about the menu! Quiet and small interior (with some tables), with outdoor seating as well that's perfect for the summer. Taste test / review on my TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZThf7yUvg/

A dear friend LOVES this place so I gave it a try yesterday. I ordered online for curbside pickup. Very easy ordering and customization process. My food was ready shortly after I pulled up, much appreciated for a lunch run. The food was so fresh, flavorful, and large portion. I added chicken to my bowl but it would be extremely filling without it. I'm a foodie but this took me 2 sittings to finish. Moneys worth for sure and a healthier option than a burger and fries (which I love very much lol).

Food was pretty fresh with good portions. But there was a piece of hair in one of our bowls, which really irked me. They gave us a new bowl but it's just kind of hard for me to get over the food safety aspect.

    Jerk chicken & mango sandwich

Phenomenal sandwich ! Great service. The counter person was patient with me as it was my first experience trying out Breadless. She thoroughly answered each of my questions and once I made my selection she affirmed my choice by giving me a thumbs up and merely stating, "that's one of our best sellers." I ordered the jerk chicken & mango sandwich and it did not disappoint . The chicken was moist and well seasoned... it was jerkin'! The mango and (bbq?) sauce were the perfect counter balance. The fact that it was breadless (wrapped in swiss chard leaves) made it light enough to prevent a food coma yet surprisingly very filling. So filling, in fact, that I couldn't even try the empanada spot next door (Emapchio - on my list for next visit). Loved the few tables out front. Just perfect enough to grab some sun while enjoying decatence wrapped in leaves. Great job Breadless, until next time. Cioa

I created my own salad bowl with roasted chicken, pepper jack cheese, red onions, Parmesan cheese, cucumbers, and toasted chickpeas!! It was so delicious. I meant to take a picture but it was smelling so divine, I forgot. I also paired it with the Celsius peach vibe drink!!

From the moment I walked in, the ambiance transported me to a beautiful Mediterranean garden, with its gorgeous tiled floors, lush greenery, and warm, inviting atmosphere. It felt like a refreshing escape right in the middle of Detroit's historic cobblestone streets. It was the perfect setting for a long-overdue reunion with my sorority sisters, and Supergeil was incredibly accommodating, hosting our group of 14 women in the middle of Grand Prix weekend without missing a beat. We kicked off the evening with a few appetizers to share, including the hummus, deviled eggs, and meatballs. Everything arrived quickly and was an instant hit around the table. The standout was definitely the hummus, served with fresh, homemade pita that was unbelievably soft, fluffy, and packed with flavor. The meatballs were also delicious, perfectly tender, juicy, and well seasoned. For my entrée, I ordered the popular lamb and beef döner, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. The portion was generous and beautifully presented, overflowing with crisp vegetables, fresh lettuce, garlic sauce, hot sauce, and the most tender, savory lamb and beef. Around the table, others enjoyed the Turkish ravioli with spiced beef and pork, more döner, and a variety of salads. Everyone loved their meals, and we couldn't resist passing plates around to sample a little of everything. It's the kind of restaurant that's perfect for sharing and enjoying with a large group. And what would a girls' night be without cocktails? If you're a fan of Two James spirits like I am, you're in for a treat. The bartenders create incredibly inventive cocktails from a seasonally rotating menu. I stepped outside my comfort zone and ordered the Open Kettle, made with coffee infused Doctor Bird Rum, cola reduction, coconut cream, and Underberg. It was unlike anything I've ever had! It was rich, tropical, complex, and with just the right kick. It's an absolute must try. Another crowd favorite was the Purple Gang, featuring lavender vodka, lemon, and butterfly pea tea, which gave it the most stunning purple hue. To finish the night, we ordered all three desserts to share: the burnt sugar tres leches, strawberries and cream, and the hot brownie with cinnamon ice cream. My favorite was easily the tres leches. It was light, creamy, and perfectly balanced with the crunch of burnt caramel and the subtle sweetness of coconut, it was a creative twist on a classic dessert. The warm brownie with cinnamon ice cream was pure comfort and a chocolate lover's dream, while the strawberries and cream offered a lighter finish with sesame brittle and hibiscus, creating a unique combination that reminded me of an elevated granola paired with a glazed donut cream. From the beautiful atmosphere and attentive service to the creative cocktails and delicious food, Supergeil delivered an unforgettable dining experience. Whether you're planning date night, catching up with friends, or celebrating with a large group, it's definitely a spot worth adding to your Detroit restaurant list.

We recommend the spiced for more flavor, but opt for both if you're curious about the coconut. I had the kumuhana chicken. The chicken had a nice smoky flavor. I didn't enjoy the plantains much. There was a huge portion of them and I found them bland...didn't eat them all. I enjoyed the beans, but overall the dish needed some pickled onions or something bright to lighten it up. Between the two of us we had the beet salad, burger and steak tartare. Burger was good, but not the best smash burger that I've had. Beet salad was fine, however the cream cheese was a bit overpowering against the orange oil. It was dying for some citrus. Steak tartare was a bit dry, meaning that a small dab of olive oil would have added to the richness and overall mouth feel. I did not really taste the egg although I did see a dab of yolk on the tartare. Needed a bit of salt also to enhance the taste Menu was small, but it did cover a cross section of French bistro dishes. All in all, I thought it was a bit overpriced. The drinks weren't good honestly. Not sure what was being mixed but the liquor didn't taste right. We both had the Classic Village Meal (Jerk Chicken, jollof rice, and plantains). It was good food. I loved how the jollof rice and plantains were well prepared and hot. The jerk chicken wasn't served as hot as the rice and plantains so I think they had a timing issue in the back, so that was disappointing. There is a lot of food, so we were able to take home half and have it for breakfast the next morning. We also tried to the jerk taco and it was good and hot, but awkward to eat because there so much on top and it was just falling off as I was trying to pick it up and take a bite.

I have consistently come here to get food throughout the years and it has been so rewarding to continue to see Yum Village be such a pillar in the city and in the food industry! The service here is incredible, you don't bus anything yourself. I also noticed that the staff that day was all women, from everyone front of house to the chefs in the back as well preparing the food, which was extra fun! They are so attentive to us and even when there was a snaffoo with on of my party's orders. They paid with cash and I think perhaps that messed up the tracking of the order through the system? I'm not entirely sure. As for the food, Yum Village has maintained some of the same dishes throughout the years, while also adding and/or rotating a ton of other dishes through the menu. I can definitely confirm that the garlic parm jerk chicken remains my favorite and that the spice level, while still plentiful and intense, has eased up a bit in recent years. Either that or that I have become more spice heat-tolerant! Either way, the portions also remain huge, so there was a ton of food to take home! I love the truffle collard greens, the deeply unique and flavorful corncakes, and also the star of the show this go around was the deliciously complex fried cheesy fufu! It oozes so much flavor and is the perfect addition to any meal and very shareable as well! Keep up the great work, Yum Village!!
