I hadn't ordered from here in quite some time. One night I was tired of cheap pizza pizza so I called up Cicero's and picked up a medium Hawaiian for my wife. Their prices are good, service is fast and the pizza has a nice crunch to the crust. They have a nice menu with pasta dishes and sandwiches in addition to pizza. You can eat in, but it's small, only a handful of booths. We've since ordered from them a couple of more times. read more

Honestly, this is a painful review to write. We live practically around the corner, and Cicero's has been our go-to pizza place for years. Their pizza is pretty good, taste-wise. But sadly... They seem to be terrible at actually providing what was ordered. Tonight we ordered three pizzas and two were completely wrong. This seems to have been getting worse over time. One of our common pizzas we prefer to have jalapeno on half of the pizza due to differing heat tolerance in the family. We explicitly called this out while ordering and got jalapeno across the entire pizza multiple times. Ok, I guess we can deal--those with lesser heat tolerance can just pick it off. We've called in the past and the customer service has been apologetic and in one case offered a credit for a future order. Tonight, we had two completely wrong pizzas: 1. Pepperoni, mushroom, red onion, artichoke. Well, we got sausage, red onion, and artichoke. Two of four toppings were correct, one was swapped, and one completely missing. 2. Sausage and mushroom. Well, we got a mushroom pizza. No sausage to be found. When calling, the person answering the phone was completely dismissive. He read off the order [showing that what Grubhub transmitted to them was correct] and didn't care that what they delivered was flat out wrong. And then said that if we wanted anything done, to take it up with Grubhub. A combination of incompetence and poor customer service is not great. It has us thinking that we need to find a new local pizza joint. Which is terrible because the pizza is pretty good. But if they can't deliver what we order, then we never know what's coming. And in a house with some food allergies, we want to know that what we order will be correct. This has been our local trusted pizza joint for almost a decade. But it seems that it's going downhill, and that is truly sad. read more

Our go to spot for take out pizza and salads! Especially when the kids come home from college, it's ALWAYS a place from home they want to order food from. The family size salad easily feeds 4 and they have the best ranch dressing in town. We always order extra ranch. We love the ample toppings and the red sauce on the pizza. It is also a great quality pizza when eating leftovers cold or slightly warmed up. The crust is not over cooked and has a nice chew to it that makes for a delicious bite. They have great specials and family deals so if you've never had Cicero's, you have to order it for your next gathering! read more

First time eating at Cicero's, and it was very good. Had a Large Submarine Sub. It came with extra olives and pepperoncini on the side, a nice touch. The meats, veggies, were very fresh. There is close ample parking available, and the inside is well kept and pleasant. The help is very friendly and helpful. The large sub is enough for me for 2 meals. Very very yummy!!! This place is must! You want traditional Italian very yummy food then look no further. It's in a small shopping center not a lot of people which made it very nice for us to order. I know today being a holiday but I called and the automated VM said they were busy on the other line taking orders, I was #1 in the queue, after 15 min hold I hung up called back went to #3, decided to drive down there and lo and behold. They were closed instead of changing their voicemail saying that we were closed for the holiday it just put you on hold and kept you there until you eventually hung up. Their phone. System is horrible. Try to catch up to the 21st-century. read more

Customer service sucks and they are the ones that made the mistake . I use to go once a week now never gain the salad I'd terrible made wrong and made me very ill and the pizza was worse disgusting I'll never go again to the grease pot read more

Amazing pizza hidden in a non-descript strip mall. It is what I consider, New York style with very thin crust. This is not really a dine-in restaurant (they do have a couple tables) but its really more for take-out. I drive all the way from RSM and pass numerous pizza restaurants to get my favorites here. read more

We ordered a combo pizza, two orders of chicken Alfredo and salads for a quick dinner before heading to a graduation ceremony. The family enjoyed everything. They were surprised at how delicious the pizza was that they asked where we got it. They said next time, get the same pizza at the same place because the quality was better than other neighborhood establishments. The gentleman who took my order was pleasant and made recommendations that we enjoyed. Since this was take out, I have no comment on the ambiance. I'm glad I gave Cicero's a try. Tried out Cicero's for the first time as we explore restaurants in our new neighborhood. I had the lasagna and it was very well done, nice portion and even had some left over for lunch the next day. The wife had the fettuccine Alfredo and liked it as well. Also had some lunch the next day. I was hoping to drink a beer while I waited for my food but no beers here. Also no TV as an NFL game was on at the time. They do a great pickup business and next time we'll pickup as well. read more

Worked here throughout High School and still crave Cicero's 15 years later! Was treated extremely well by not only the staff, but the community that rallied around Cicero's. I'd often see someone I knew ordering take-out or delivery every time I worked. I still go here weekly when visiting family. No other pizza compares! Tim, the owner, has been here forever! And they stick to the same principles they were founded on. A true staple in Mission Viejo that values the community. Incredible pizza, pasta, subs, and more. I've been trying to give these chumps chance after chance because I'm Italian and live very close but seriously these idiots are a circus. Always got ripped off there. Get home no salad or sometimes bread or wrong order all together. Last week we ordered take out. I ordered penne with meatballs guess what No FreAkiN meatballs and the pasta was so overcooked it's fell apart. Talking about ruining a dinner !!! My daughter had ravioli and it was overcooked too. Tried again last Friday and guess what. No bread. What the hell is wrong with these idiots ? No quality control what so ever. I can provide the receipt number, order number, and all transaction details, so claiming that the order does not exist is simply not an acceptable response. A professional business should first apologize, verify the order information, and then work toward a solution. Either your company is cutting costs by not providing basic items such as napkins and utensils, or there is a serious issue with quality control. Unfortunately, this is not the first time this has happened. A customer should not have to call and argue just to receive the basic items that should come with a food order. The lack of accountability and poor customer service are just as disappointing as the missing items.

There was plenty of chicken to compliment the creaminess of the Alfredo sauce along with the dough itself. We ordered a medium pizza and it was more than enough to feed two of us. The Chicken Basil Cream Pasta was also rich and full of flavor. The serving portion was large, and we were also given Parmesan to complement the dish. Overall, the dish was enjoyable. For being a last minute pick, Domenicos on the Lake exceeded our expectations and proved to be a standout Italian restaurant in Mission Viejo.

It is still on Wednesdays from 4-8 pm. Parking is right on the lot, easily accessible, and you can use the clean restrooms in the building immediately next to the stands. Thank goodness for that. Nobody wants to use a porta-potty. The Mediterranean dips are still there, so are the yummy tamales, roasted corn and produce. They do have additional vendors that sell Mexican food, kettle corn, noodles, amongst other things. Many if not all of the vendors take electronic payment. Some probably take cash but I'm not positive on that. The day we went, there was an instrumentalist that played off to the side which was nice. Live music is always welcome. This Farmers market is not bad at all. I've been to slightly bigger but they have definitely grown since they initially opened. It's good to see the community coming together in support of one another. Our family looks forward to Wednesdays at the park. If you have never been, you really should go visit soon.

Funny thing about pizza joints in southern California --somehow, the food gets lost in the big picture and everything eventually starts becoming tacos/Mexican cuisine. Not so with Cicero's, however. Here, you will actually be able to eat a real slice of pizza as you can get it anywhere back East. Also, Cicero's is one of the few places in Mission Viejo that actually knows what a calzone is so there's that, but I wasn't impressed mostly because the place overcharges but skimps on the cheese. The calzone is supposed to be filled with mozzarella & ricotta, but what I received consisted of a tiny portion of mozzarella and zero ricotta. When you take a bite of a Cicero's calzone, it is essentially a 'wish' sandwich because you WISH there was more cheese. Or maybe there was ricotta included and I just didn't see it because it was so extremely minimal. Seems to me that in consideration of the price tag, the least Cicero's could do is add enough of the actual cheese sufficient to SEE it. Eh, whaddya expect. This is So Cal where everything is done on the cheap and completely vastly over priced regardless of quantity or quality. Recommended but be advised, just because you're paying top dollar does not mean that you're getting anything but tiny child-sized proportions that may or may not include the advertised ingredients. read more

ABSOLUTELY THE BEST PIZZA!!! I've been going to Cicero's for over 4 years now and after having it the first time, I must say I'm hooked. After moving down to Mission Viejo after living in Corona for a few years and never liking Domino's or any other pizza chain; It was awesome to find this place. The staff is awesome. It is a very friendly environment and all the employees are very welcoming. The Customer service is great, just about everyone that goes here is known on a first name basis. Anyone looking to try Cicero's needs to have a buffalo chicken calzone and their penne pesto and artichoke pasta. read more

My favorite local New York style pizza shop. It seems to me that within the past 6-8 months, the food has gotten even better! I don't know what they've changed, but I must say it's working! I ordered a pizza by phone. When I picked it up, I found to my surprise that none of the employees is wearing a mask. Neither did the owners ask patrons to wear facial protection. How irresponsible to not do everything to protect employees and patrons during the COVID-19 pandemic. I'll never get pizza from Cicero's again. read more

It was my first time visiting Pizzeria Amore today, located in a shopping complex in Laguna Woods…read moreI'd never been to before, and I chose to drive longer to visit this store than it would've taken me to get to Slice House in Fountain Valley by a Pizza World Champion, because my experience at Slice House last weekend wasn't what I really wanted in a cool pizza shop (a little too much of a bar vibe) and the other pizza places nearby with a nice vibe offer really great slices, but I wanted something filling or satisfying that would be affordably priced and made with quality standards I could trust. I was actually blown away by how genuine and warm of a person the owner was, and the New York style pizza slices on offer did not disappoint at all - they were fantastic & really hit the spot!! The veggie pizza slice was really wonderful with lots of clean, fresh, and properly-cooked veggies on top with a nice coat of mozzarella pizza cheese. The cheese slice itself also hits differently, in that because there aren't any veggies taking away the heat from the cheese component during the cooking process, the cheese cooks really nicely with an almost hot temperature and the tomato sauce under the gooey cheese layer was really amazingly delicious too. The cheese got to be a bit much in some bites towards the end so I pulled little bits of cheese off and it was really nicely integrated and came off with little bits of mini cheese pulls too. The crust was simply out of this world amazing, it was like sourdough almost but super soft and the perfect density, almost like a pull apart garlic knot kind of a texture (without the garlic). It was so impressive that I likened the crust here to Eric Kayser's patented liquid sourdough that his Parisian-based Maison Kayser is famous for. There were two other staff that I saw and/or heard during my visit today, and all three of them looked like such wonderful people, I really wish I could do a catering order with them or something, because their pizza is kind of a lot like Costco pizza, but way better quality so would present a lot better too! There are also a lot of more creative options to choose from, including Hawaiian and Chicken Alfredo, as just a couple of examples. Another really cool thing is that the TV inside their shop was playing a full feature film from The Lord of the Rings trilogy, which absolutely captivated me and just goes to show what trailblazers these guys at Pizzeria Amore really are. In short, the NY style pizza here is incredibly tasty and gets one of the top spots for pizza value... they might not always be crowded because Laguna Woods isn't a highly frequented area by those who don't usually have business there, but with everything else really making a lot of sense for this brand, I think the owner(s) could focus on maybe tightening up the menu design to be easier to read and choose from, having a more highly visible decal for their front entrance (seemed a little faded), add a few more NY decor pieces inside (there were some nice ones already there but more would give a better wow factor), and then market their brand as one of the best choices for NY style pizzas in OC that specializes in catering, events, etc. Also, they could look into helping someone who wants to sell something with a store in a store concept so that the commercial space is fully maximized. I really love this place & definitely am looking to visit at least once a month (since I only eat out sparingly on weekends) - thank you for the awesomeness!!

I did want to mention a quick issue I had with a recent Uber Eats order. I've actually had problems with Uber Eats on two separate occasions in the past and stopped using it, but I received a promotional offer and decided to give it another shot. Unfortunately, I received the wrong item with my order again. I honestly don't know whether the driver didn't check the order or whether the restaurant was given the wrong information. Either way, mistakes happen, and I don't hold that against the restaurant. What has always frustrated me with Uber Eats, though, is how difficult it can be to get problems resolved. In the past, restaurants have simply told me to take it up with Uber Eats, and Uber Eats has not been very helpful either, leaving you feeling like you're on your own when something goes wrong. This experience with Pizzeria Amore was completely different. The folks there immediately apologized, baked me a brand-new pizza, and even let me keep the incorrect pizza at no charge. They went above and beyond to make things right, even though the issue involved a third-party delivery service. These guys are true local business owners who genuinely know how to treat their customers. That kind of customer service is exactly why I'll continue making Pizzeria Amore my go-to pizza place. Highly recommend!

My son's t-ball team finished the season and the head coach organized a mini pizza banquet and Ball Park Pizza was chosen as the venue. I was excited for some good pizza as were all the children. The parents enjoyed the food and the kids played as 5- and 6-year-olds do. They discovered the quarter machines that dispensed various little toys and trinkets. My son had accumulated a handful of little figurines and had them lined up neatly on the table that he and his friends were seated at. He was proud of them. And then, the young lady employee came by, swept them up, and quite literally threw them into the trash can. We could not even salvage them because immediately after she did that, another employee came and threw a pile of dirty plates right on top of them. Why in the world would she do that? My son immediately began crying. The young lady could not care less. Prior to her doing this, she had scolded the children as they were playing in the empty dining area (it was almost 8pm - when they close). She had also spoken to a mom in a stern manner regarding the children. The children were not behaving disrespectfully or destructively. They were acting like typical 5- and 6-year-olds. The employee was clearly unhappy about something. As a group, we were nothing but nice to her so her anger and discontent were misplaced. Also, what could a shy little 6-year-old boy have done to her for her to treat him that way? My son was crying by my wife's side when I heard that this incident took place. My wife was upset because she witnessed the manner in which our son's little toys were thrown away. One of the managers was informed of this incident and she tried her very best to "fix" the problem but when one sees his young child weeping because of something a careless (and malicious in my opinion) adult decided to do to him, there is no way to rectify that situation. Something made her angry and she took it out on my son. She can treat me however she pleases. I'm grown. But it takes a special kind of human to treat a 6-year-old in such a terrible manner. I give the manager credit for accepting responsibility for her employee's conduct. The manager was genuine. She offered me complimentary items but I was not interested in any of it, especially since I had no intention of ever coming back. On the drive home, we had to explain to my son that there was absolutely no reasonable explanation for the way she treated him. He could not comprehend that an adult could treat him so poorly. How does one explain such an unjustified and horrible behavior to a 6-year-old? I suppose he learned a valuable lesson today. Until today, he had never met an adult that treated him like he was of no value. I will never go back to this restaurant unless our next team decides to do a get-together here and even then I would likely choose not to attend. That employee should be ashamed of herself. People often downplay poor behaviors of their children but my son is not that kid. He is very polite and rather quiet. I am furious that an adult would treat a very young child that way. Attached is a photo of the mean employee and the vending machines from which he got his little "treasures."
