I went in on a whim because I was in DESPERATE need of a cut but I knew since I was a walk in I might have been turned down. Lucky for me a stylist, Kristen, was open and she was so incredibly sweet and talented! First, she asked if she could take some before shots which were fun and made me feel really special, and then she sat me down in the chair and that's when the magic started happening. She took my shaggy, damaged, hadn't-been-cut-in-a-year-and-a-half hair and transformed it into a trendy and healthy looking lob. She was so attentive and wanted to make sure everything looked perfect before we took a round of after photos. I love Heather! I have been going to her since she was at Meche Salon in Beverly Hills and there was no way I was planning on stopping when she moved to Malibu. She has skills like no other. I've followed Heather Cie from Meche to Ramirez Tran and am so excited about her moving to her own salon. First of all, of the three locations, this is my favorite. The materials they chose lend a really creative and inspired vibe to the place. Everyone here is very professional, but incredibly down to earth. I would want to work here! And I think that lends itself to really great hair. Heather is an absolute genius. But what I love most about her is how she communicates. She is HONEST with you about what you can expect. The second thing I love about her is she really cares about the condition of your hair. I wanted to go from virgin almost black hair to platinum blonde. Heather was super honest and patient with me and made me realize I was better served taking my time getting there than all out wrecking my hair with straight bleach. Not an easy thing to do with a new client. But Heather always gives it to you straight. Over a few months, my hair went from boring brown, to a really beautiful and cool blonde. And when I decided I wanted something lower maintenance, Heather was there in a heart beat, strategically bringing my color down to something more natural. Even through this transition, my hair looks phenomenal. I get tons of compliments whenever I get it done. Actually the ultimate compliment: a ton of my girlfriends took the plunge from being color virgins and going more blonde. Heather's work tends to have that beautiful, natural lived in quality. Michael Sparks is absolutely the most incredible creative hair stylist/artist there is. I have very thick and short hair which requires someone with major skills to cut it. Just returned from 93 mile round trip for cut and color. Crazy I know but worth every single mile. Heather did an amazing job with my color which was a mess. (Long story.) Then Nathan gave me the best hair cut I've ever had. He knows how to make you look your best, even though he had to factor in mis-cut bangs ("short" story). When I left it wasn't just that they corrected my cut and color. They did a great job and showed me how to style it, and even how to give myself a different look at home. What a pleasure. Today was the third time in a row that Sonia failed to show up for my scheduled appointment. Each time the salon has either failed to text or call me in advance at all, or as they did today, I received a text 6 minutes before my appointment as I'm pulling into the parking lot for that appt. So rude. Unprofessional. I've been coming to this salon for 3 years seeing a terrific male stylist who left to go to another salon, so I switched to Sonia. Big mistake. She's rude and unprofessional in my opinion to do this to me three appts in a row! I'm done with this salon who could have, and should have given me proper notice if they needed to cancel my appt. Not once has the owner ever called me to apologize for Sonia's 3-peat unprofessionalism and rudeness. The salon's website doesn't even list Sonia as a stylist - I now understand why. I would give Sonia and this salon zero stars for customer care and service if that were possible. read more

I came in here because a few friends speak highly of this place. I must have bad luck because as soon as I sat down with Amanda B, I was immediately greeted with unprofessional incompetent stylist who appeared hungover because you could literally smell the alcohol every time she'd get close to me (which was for the entire 1.5 hour). She failed to acknowledge my request for 2 inches taken off and took it upon herself to take almost 5 off (I measured before and afterwards due to long length ). When I explained this wasn't what I wanted she immediately got defensive , told me "you're wrong, if you don't like it take yourself somewhere else". That was that and I tried asking for management but she insisted she was in charge and no one else was available and to "deal with it". Of course I walked out and will continue to expose the rudeness and lack of professionalism from this once great salon. read more

I've spent years trying to find the hair salon for me. After dozens of botched haircuts and colorings at countless salons, I finally made a trip to Cie Sparks. Not only was he super kind, warm, friendly, and personable, but he also knew EXACTLY what I wanted without me having to go into detail. My hair looked amazing! Unlike a lot of other stylists, he was easy to talk to, didn't condemn me for my split ends, and didn't pressure me to buy hair products. I was in and out quickly, as well!
