It was not busy and we sat at a table with a big water stain on the ceiling and it took them 5 minutes to get use more chips and a drink refill, tv was off in my view and the wall next to my table was Dusty, we did not get sailt and pepper or starws for are drinks or extra napcons. We got our food and it was not cooked through and it had tomatoes and I am allergic I will die if I have tomatoes. I did not want to give them a 1 star I wanted to give them a 0. We really enjoy this restaurant. They have good salsa. I usually get street tacos and Cindy usually gets fajitas. Its a very quick place to get served if your on a time crunch. Had just attended a funeral down the street. Went to this restaurant with my cousin, her three children, my sister and two nephews. Food was edible, but not memorable. I wasn't even interested in a "take home box." Price was reasonable. Waiter continually referred to me as grandma, which I am and proud to be, but not of the children at the restaurant. When I finally said something about this stranger calling me grandma, he came back with "young lady." Not sure of his intention. It did not seem respectful. Either way, I considered the behavior to be unprofessional and I will not be returning to this establishment. read more

This is my go-to Mexican place in Springfield. The food is consistently excellent and I'm pretty sure I've tried everything on the menu. The Quesadilla Cielito is a strong favorite of mine and my Lady Friend. I do have to warn you, however, that the service is not always the best here. I definitely wouldn't come here if you are in a hurry. I've waited around for 10-15 min with a clean plate waiting to leave multiple times. This is the best place to go get a quick "Mexican" lunch in Springfield. I mean there is not a bad meal in the place. You can walk in there at the lunch rush, sit down, order drinks, a meal, pay and be walking out the door in less than a half hour if you really wanted to. Really though if you don't have to rush then just take everything in. The decor and music are great. Once you are seated you are given a basket of chips that are made in house with some homemade salsa. If you want something hotter just ask. Flip open a menu and just point to something it's all good. I go for the number ten on the lunch menu most of the time. You always are given refills on your drinks and chips promptly. Most of all it's really affordable two can have lunch for under $15 with ease. Friendly quick service with a cantina feel, what more could you possible ask for? read more

I go here more than any other place in Springfield. It's good and simple inexpensive Mexican food in a fun atmosphere. Lots of trinkets, flags, and cool artwork on the walls. Food is great, especially for this area. It's not quite as awesome as some Mexican food I've had in Texas, but if you get the chimichanga you'll be satisfied. Tacos are great. I wanted to really enjoy this place... sadly I could not. The salsa is not chunky at all.. it reminds me of the juice from a can of diced tomatoes.... tasteless. I ordered a bowl of the spicy salsa hoping to thicken and jazz it up.. nope.. again tasteless and had the thickness of v8. I like my salsa chunky and with taste! The guacamole was awful!!! It tasted like it was from a can definitely not made in house as it should be. We ordered enchiladas and burritos. They were bland and with red sauce from a can poured all over the top. Never again. We hadn't been in a while since there are other closer options and we never will again. Service was awful. The waiter appeared stoned. Waited 10 minutes before even being asked for drinks. He screwed up an order for waters and tried to bring two beers. Even though no one at the table mentioned beer and we don't drink. The food took over 20 minutes to bring out for a plate of nachos and an order of street tacos. It was bland and tasteless. The street tacos were served on tortillas that were steamed way too long and made super soggy from the greasy marinade. Could not even pick them up. One had pineapple. The other didn't. So clearly, consistency isn't a concern. Sorry, but next time I'll just go to El Puente or El Charro. Better service and better quality. I had the Chili Relleno. If you're a fan of those....don't order it here. I'm an out of towner, and this is where the staff opted to go for lunch, so I tagged along. The Chili Relleno is my standard when I go to a new mexican food place. This one was not breaded, was not deep fried and had no filler. It was a roaster chili pepper, covered in cheese sauce and a tomatoe enchilada sauce. The rice and beans were good. Perhaps I would be more satisfied with another meal there. Despite the infinite Jose Cuervo and Corona memorabilia - despite the bizarre, culturally questionable artwork - and despite the fact that Cielito Lindo is really just another neatly wrapped kitsch bomb, Mexican style... I kind of love this place. Don't get me wrong, if I only had to eat at one Mexican place in SGF ever again, it'd be Perches. But Cielito's got decent house salsa to accompany the usual endless boats of tortilla chips (good salsa is hard to come by), which is great if you're in that strange mood to stuff your face with chips n' salsa. I'm a fan of the #10 dinner combo, which is two hard shell beef tacos with the usual rice and beans. While the rice and beans are "meh" (rice and beans have never NOT been "meh" to me and this saddens me deeply), the tacos are just sheer greasy goodness. They're stuffed with SUPER finely ground beef and topped with piles of velvety grated cheese and lettuce. I sprinkle 'em up with some of that decent house salsa and sink into a filmy, greasy Meximerican delirium. The shells aren't stab-your-insides hard, either - they're somehow an impeccable texture. Two thumbs up fo' dem taco shells. If you're into pretty quality Mexi-whatever food, head to one of Cielito's many locations (and not Mexican Villa, for the love of pete!). read more

First, the salsa was awful, the guacamole was mediocre, my chicken looked like flattened roadkill, and my daughter's tamales were unexpectedly drowned in some weird sauce. I won't even go into the service. On occasion I actually overlook bad service to some extent if the food is worth it, and this place wasn't worth it. If you like even close to authentic Mexican food and/ or Tex Mex, this is not the place to go. All this coming from a San Antonio girl who lives in KC, which does have some pretty good Mexican food...and not from chain restaurants. If that's what this place is, I didn't know. This use to be my favorite Mexican food spot in town! Took my mom and sister there and had the WORST experience. Our cheese dip had plastic in it and waitress could care less. Service was extremely slow although restaurant was dead. Food tasted as if it was just seating under a heat lamp. Very mediocre. Absolutely terrible service. We waited about 15 minutes before our order was taken. The waitress forgot to bring our margaritas until we reminded her. She also brought our bill as soon as we (finally) got our order, and then while we were eating she asked if we would go ahead and pay. We told her it would be just a moment. She came back barely a minute later and told us she was leaving so we had to pay now (the restaurant didn't close for another hour, mind you). She immediately took our plates and didn't say another word to us as we left. She was rude, inhospitable, and rushed us the entire time. We will never be back to this restaurant. read more

I've been visiting the area for 12+ years and had never tried this joint. And I'm a TexMex junkie being from Texas! This place is average. Servers are friendly and prices are cheap. Got a pitcher of Dos Equis for $10. Our entrees were around $6-8 each. I tried an enchilada, burrito, and quesadilla. All were ok, the burrito was my favorite out of the three (combo #25, I think). Also tried the guac. I've had way better and fresher guac. For two of us with beers we ate for $30. Can't complain. Makes me long for some Pappasito's or Uncle Julio's or Blue Mesa or Mi Cocina.......need I go one. read more

We got right in but the service was terrible. No straws, no napkins after two requests. We were seated literally right by the front door and bathroom so eating in front of an audience was no bueno. We asked to be moved. The food was ok - I had the La Favorita. Chips and salsa was very good and they do make a good margarita. The place is kinda dirty. The menu and dessert menu were grimy. This is a find Mexican restaurant. It's a local chain, and they definitely know how to run a American-based Mexican restaurant. They bring out chips and salsa. They give you big drinks because you've consumed a shaker full of salt. They have a huge menu with close to 100 items. The food comes out quickly. The food is hot. The food satisfies the hot, cheesy, meaty, saucy in-a-starchy craving that you sate when you eat at a Mexican restaurant. And the place is nice, too, with that Mexican restaurant decor that you'd expect (though no cliff divers, sadly). Nothing here was out of the ordinary, good nor bad, and certainly, we'd go back, though we'll probably check out the dozen or so other Mexican restaurants in town first, just to see if one of the other places does have that special item or taste. read more

Had a large to go order yesterday and got home after driving 30 mins to find that there was no rice. None, on any of the meals, apparently they forgot to put it in. The salsa here is thin, almost like a juice and doesn't have alot of flavor/spice. I ordered the la bandera as I always do but the sauce on it the past while has been awful, they've changed it to some pasty tomato paste kind of stuff that has no flavor or spice and it's just not good at all. I will probably eat here again, but it won't be my choice, El Charro or Old Mexico will be on top of the list now until the sauce is fixed. It's just too bland. read more

Extremely upset with the services. We had a waiter who was friendly and recommended the margaritas. The margaritas we had were decent can't say they were great. We ordered the meal for two it was pretty big except we weren't told it had some sweet tomato sauce which wasn't the best literally took the flavor away from the meat. We needed limes and napkins and our waiter was no where to be found.Turns our that he left. No one came to check on the table until we had finished. I had my youngest sibling dinning with me and my fiancé I was extremely upset with the profanity the waitresses were using. One waitress was all over one of the waiters I can honestly say we won't be back and I wouldn't recommend it. Not a place for children with the amount of profanity & let alone the service you receive. In the front you will notice a sign that says tip you're server now I can see why. I left a 10% tip I work as a waiter but I know that they should not have received any tip for the poor quality and lack of hospitality. read more
