Don't recommend, not authentic Mexican food. Burrito is just a tortilla with meat inside, nothing else inside, just meat, and a sauce on top. The only thing I liked was the rice and beans. To make things worse, my child found a rock in the beans, which she didn't notice until she was chewing! Complained, only got a $3.25 discount. I saw my friend post about this place with the oyster in display and it got my attention! I decided to take my kids and go try it. It's all the way north kansas expway which wasn't a bad drive. We order their enchiladas, chicken and rice and nacho supreme. All was pretty good and of course I have to get the oyster with mixed goodies! The service was good but I didn't care for the food. The steak inside my chimichanga was tough, stringy, and flavorless. The mango-rita was OK but I could tell they use a pre-made sour mix. My kids, however, loved their food. I might go back again but I will order something else if I do. They do have a very large selection of food on the menu. read more

The food taste good here, but quality could be improved. I've only ordered from here twice and both times they messed up my to go order. So stick to the items on the menu and don't ask for substitutions. As far as prices go, the are a little more expensive then the local Mexican spots especially the desert and the portions. We were traveling and our usual half-way restaurant was closed. It was 7:55 PM and, after driving by, I called El Poblano to see when they closed. The owner answered, said they closed at 8:00 and asked how far away we were. I told him we were 2 minutes away and he insisted that we go ahead and come. So many restaurants get upset if you come in within 30 minutes of their closing time. This place treated us like royalty - every single employee acted as if they were thrilled we had come in. On top of the exceptional treatment, the food was amazing! The food taste & presentation had the feel of a high-dollar national chain. This is my favorite place to eat when in Springfield. The food is incredible. Always hot and delicious! The service is always on point with prompt service.
