Sorry but no. First the good: the decor which was really cool and trendy. Not what I expected at all in Lacombe. Service was also friendly, but with every request I had I received the "deer in headlights" response. The big bummer was the food. The prime rib benedict on cornbread had stale reheated prime rib. The poached eggs were actually delicious and perfect, but overwhelmed by too much hollondaise. Also couldn't really taste the cornbread because of the hollondaise. Not sure how the staleness of the prime rib kept shining through, but there it was... The "hash brown" potatoes on the plate were likewise shoddy. They were roasted potatoes not hash browns but that's ok. The problem was that about 60% of the potatoes were completely undercooked so it was a losing game of roulette to bite into them to see if they were edible. What a great experience. Our son-in-law told us we had to go to Cilantro & Chive. We did today with 6 other family members. This restaurant is very bright with natural light. Very rustic atmosphere, very clean. We got there about 1:30 & it was quite busy. Staff were friendly. Great service. Great food; menu items, presentation, flavours. Prices were reasonable. There used to be only one natural choice in Lacombe until this restaurant opened and... we will be going back to Leto's for the time being. During my travels I regularly stop at my mother- in- law's place (as per usual) really looking forward to my lasagna out, however she had something else in mind for our evening together. (I always leave the choice up to her!) To my surprise it was Cilantro and Chive's 'Prime Rib Night' (AKA, Wednesday (?) night). Now, keep in mind, I am always in for new things and will always try anything twice! We did not make reservations (who would have guessed a restaurant in Lacombe required them) and when we walked in without them at about 5:45 pm, we were immediately made to feel stupid by the ('kind- of- a- big- deal'), under- age hostess, AND in addition, got the second worst table in the house (the unfortunate guests who had to sit, literally, outside the bathrooms would be the worst table) despite the restaurant being 75% vacant. Perhaps, mention reservations on your website~ yes, I did (and always do) my research prior to engagement. The restaurant has the 'new restaurant feel' which we all love! Ah, the smell of hope, desire and ambition! Perhaps, put some art on the walls and some linens on the tables to buffer the echo (echo, echo, echo) would be an idea? The decor is unnecessarily sparse. If this is the 'look' they are going for then they need to consult a designer because this is not working for them. (I would be happy to assist.) The seating and tables are kindly provided by your local community hall via 1991 (again, I can help correct this) and the table arrangements makes zero sense. Anyhoo... The food? I can only speak to my meal. I could only eat about (optimistically) 1/3 of my prime rib because it was so fatty (yes, I am well aware prime rib is fatty), but this was more than excessive. The Yorkshire pudding was huge, the potato- weird (trying for artisanal?) and not as described on the menu. The meal was almost decent, but not good enough to justify the price. Unfortunatley the wine list is awful!!!! (I can also hook you up with a vino supplier who knows what they are taking about.) I can't imagine who could possibly be advising you currently, in good faith. Like I said, I will try anything twice so I am looking forward to eating here again, well into the future. Service was very slow and barely friendly. Tried to take my brother for a nice meal as I am visiting from out of town. To say the least I was very upset with the whole experience. We both ordered the Asian noodle bowl, after which the waitress responded " only women order that dish". When our food arrived we noticed the Asian noodle bowl was actually a fully cold salad which was not stated on the menu. We both took about 3 bites and pushed our plates forward to let the waitresses know we were done. They processed to ask if we wanted boxes to pack our salads up without asking how the food was. Date night! What a hidden gem in Lacombe! The different Moscow mules were amazing and I'll definitely be heading back for more. We had the duck wings to start, which were really good but extremely salty, I wouldn't recommend eating them alone. For our main meals we both got different burgers and they did not disappoint! I got the lamb burger and my husband got some sort of fire burger that had brisket and pulled pork on it. My husbands a pretty big guy and he could only finish half of this burger! If you don't go to this place for food- go for the amazing beer menu! Beer from all over! Highly recommend this little restaurant! read more

Our group of 4 was looking forward to eating at this local restaurant. We phoned ahead, and were told the patio had tables, but no reservations could be made. No problem - we headed over right away and arrived within 20 minutes. We saw lots of tables outside, but were told none were available because the chairs were broken. (???). Inside, due to reservations we were told it would be a 3 hour wait. The girls at the front were very rude to us. We saw 3 other parties get told the same thing. Lots of business and cash lost! I hesitate to criticize restaurants during COVID, but we were very disappointed. We asked for a table when there was plenty of room inside and outside. We were told they wouldn't accept walk-ins, but they didn't offer to do take-out or book us for later. We then ordered take-out online (carbonara) and it was very bland, with almost no taste. This is the ONLY place in Lacombe to get the most fabulous drinks and food. I love their selection of craft drinks (not just beer for those who don't like beer) and their super unique menu items. They do a monthly burger, with some proceeds going to charity - who wouldn't want to swing in here. I love love love this place. You gotta read to the end! Our party of 8 drove from Red Deer (after a half marathon) to try C&C out. Really looked forward to great local craft beer and crazy Barnyard burger on a caesar. All our food was amazing and the drinks great too. Kids loves the cotton candy drink. Unfortunately the restaurant was busy and our order got sidetracked somehow. Hey it happens, I worked in restaurants for 10 years. When I mentioned this to the manager he quickly got the meals out and said he would check back. He definitely did and wanted to make sure meals were good. He then said then ENTIRE bill is on the house as they strive for 30 minute service (we were at about 90 min). I've been coming here since they were located in Ponoka, and today I realized I had never written a Yelp review. If you're ever in Lacombe and decide you want some food that tastes like you drove to a high end restaurant in Calgary for it, you'll do no better than Cilantro and Chive. If this is your first time tasting duck wings, I warn you chicken wings will never be the same again. If it's 7PM and you skipped breakfast and lunch, order a Caesar that Eats Like a Meal - they are not just kidding; it's massive. Even the restrooms are entertaining. There are dozens of pictures on the wall, from profound quotations to memes to funny photos. They are in fact so entertaining that one of the first times we were there I got so distracted my date had to text me to ask if I was planning on coming back or not. I don't know what happened in the kitchen but it's translating into sub par offerings at the table. A year ago my review was full on five star and I raved to my friends. Was absolutely starving tonight and waited patiently for my meals which costed 75 bucks plus a 5 dollar tip and this is supposed to be a high class restaurant except my meal was wrong and everything was cold was really disgusting but I scarfed it down anyways I mean I was hoping for nice fresh food this wasn't put together very well. We previously loved this place but after last night our opinions changed. It was extremely busy and very very loud. Our server was clearly frazzled whilst trying her best to help us. The food was ok...not great. My food was cold but I said nothing because we had waited so long for it to come. The desserts we ok. I liked the creme brulee but the Apple crumble cake should be served warm. I don't think we will return. Hire more servers please! read more

The service was very good my waitress was wonderful. I had the pulled pork sandwich and it was delicious. I got the ceasar flight and it is really fun, unfortunately I only liked 1 of the 4 ceasars. I was a little disappointed that my friend who is a vegetarian did not have a lot of food options. She is also allergic to nuts so it was hard to find an appetizer we could share together (we ended up not getting one). Would like to see more vegetarian options in the future. I actually think the concept of this restaurant is so great. Their menu looks wonderful. There is a nice ambiance inside. There is so much availible in terms of drinks and fun new food combinations and is appealing to many different groups of people, kids, city folk, country folk, etc. However, I think that the fact that this restaurant is so multi-faceted might be their greatest downfall. There is so much on the menu, that I think the quality of the food and drinks has decreased. I had 3 seperate visits here where I was very excited about what I was ordering but always felt like the they missed the mark after eating the dish. The vietnamese soup I had lacked any flavor and I needed to add a lot of soy sauce. The duck wings I had were overcooked and salty. With the chicken and waffles, the waffles tasted like they had come out of the freezer and the chicken was overcooked, and it was served with too much syrup. I really want this restaurant to succeed, so I personally think that quality and simplicity are needed. For example, I think that you can make a creme brulee with just one flavor, or just do a traditional creme brulee. read more

Showed up at about 4:25pm. The place was empty except 2 tables. 3 waitresses looked and an ipad to see where they wanted to seat us - this took about 5 minutes. AFTER we were seated, we were told that we would have to be done eating in an hour for a reservation they had. We asked it we could sit at another table. There was another table the same size as well as the patio. We ended up staying there as they had already seated us. For a small town, they definitely had a unique menu, although I wouldn't say I was impressed with the flavours. Five stars for the kids menu though, both kids ordered something different and their meals ended up tastier and had larger portions than the adult meals!! We left about an hour and ten minutes later and it was maybe half full, not sure what their rush was. read more

I love this place. I live in Red Deer and only made it once when it was in Ponoka, but have gone twice (so far) since it has been in Lacombe. I did make reservations which was helpful. Their drink menu is amazing, the food was unique and delicious. I've tried the lamb burger and the mushroom pasta, both were divine. I have never had duck wings until I had them there. I love their craft beer selection and I wish I could go back more often to try their rotating taps. Central Alberta is lucky to have this place read more

It has a nice atmosphere and good staff but it's really busy! And the furniture is falling apart. The one vegetarian 'stack' is good. I haven't tried the one other vegetarian thing- the quinioa salad. That being said - they need MORE vegetarian options! They seem to focus on gluten free people rather than vegetarians. And there are a lot of vegetarians in Lacombe actually! My partner's food was burnt which he was okay with but I'm sure other people wouldn't appreciate that. read more
