    Kashimiri naan
    Michelle P.

Been wanting to try this place for a long time. We went one evening after an event in downtown and it was very good. I love vegetable korma and this place had it. Very delicious and creamy. We chose to get naan with our meals instead of rice and upgraded both. The garlic naan was good, I wasn't a huge fan of their peschawari naan (which is usually my fav). Hope to return, perhaps to try the lunch buffet.

We were so excited to check this place out! There was 4 of us in our group. The staff quickly welcomed us and showed us to a table. Once seated we were all given waters. After looking over the menu and asking all of our questions, it was time to order. We all ordered entrees and shared a couple of orders of Nann. I ordered the Kadhai with Lamb, and went with medium on the heat. The dish was so full of flavor. The heat was just perfect for me, and I like a little heat. I am not sure I chould have gone with a higher level. While we all loved the Nann, we thought $8 for the small portion was alot. We really enjoyed the Samosa's as well as the Onion Bhaji. We had a great time here, we loved the food, and the staff was wonderful. We will come back when we are in the area and want to make the drive for some good Indian food.

Loved the food here. We were with some friends that were vegan and so we shared appetizers that were vegan. They were amazing. We shared the Nann bread, Vegan Samosas, and Vegetable Manchurian Momos. We did not miss the meat at all. We ordered different dinners that each one was delicious. Lamb Quorma, Butter Chicken, Aloo Palak, and Veggie Qorma. Our server Alok was so friendly and attentive. The restaurant is on the smaller side. So I can see it being a problem when they get busy fortunately, when we were there, the people coming in wear spaced out pretty well. We will definitely be back!

15.99 for an all you can eat buffet is a great deal! Our server was very friendly and made sure our glasses were full of water and our naan kept flowing. The buffet had 3 vegetarian selections and 3 chicken selections. One dessert of gulab jamun cake. Samosa, papad, and plain rice. It was overall very basic selection for an all you can eat buffet and the dishes were very mild. We would return, but probably not for the buffet. Probably for a la carte so we can get things spicier.

Perfect location in Winter Park, FL! The waiter, Alook, was friendly and helpful! We ordered the palak paneer which is one of my favorites. The garlic naan is a bit smaller than some other Indian restaurants so we ordered one for each of us instead of splitting an order. The inside is clean and obviously a popular spot. I recommend for great Indian food in the area!

We went here last night since this is close to my brother's place - I had very low expectations but he insisted that it's a nice place, so we went. The place indeed is nice, it's in the nice locale of winter garden, the staff was super friendly. They have really good recommendations and were accommodating in the rare chilly windy nights to move us from outside to inside as soon as a table became available. They were super open to feedback as well - which is rare. The food actually was really good!! It looked so delicious that I forgot to take photos before starting to eat. We tried many things on the menu - manchurian, schezuan momos, tandoori soya chaap, maggi, methi malai paneer and garlic naan. Everything was very tasty. We had a great time.

Not a good experience here. My husband is still on the toilet after having dinner here last night. Other then that here is a list of our experience: 1. Service was crazy slow even though we were 1 of 3 tables in the restaurant. 2. The waiter finally asked if we were ready to order, we said yes, and then he went and sprayed down and cleaned 3 tables in the empty restaurant before coming back over to take our order. 3. We were given warm tap water. We asked for some ice twice before we were told that the ice maker is broken. 4. I ordered a rice bowl which is a rice base, a protein of choice, and a sauce of choice topped with some veggies. All items are standard items that are offered all over the menu. I was told that I could not order that. I inquired further and was told that they have no veggies. So I said that's fine, I just want the rice, protein, and sauce. I was told no, I can't have it. Ummmmm??? So I ordered a paneer (protein) in a sauce (offered as an option on the bowl menu), and it came with rice. ????? 5. The dinner entree that both my partner and I had was the Madras Curry. He had his with chicken, and I with paneer. The paneer didn't taste right. I can't put my finger on it, but I normally love paneer and this was tart without a lot of flavor. But it was the curry that was the big disappointment. It was watery and had none of the traditional coconut flavor that this type of curry normally has. My partner passionately loves Madras curry and it can be hard to find. But we were both so disappointed. The frozen Trader Joe's meals we get taste so much better. 6. The bathroom was really dirty. There was tp all over the floor and the toilet was dirty. When I washed my hands it was clear that the soap was watered down. Eww. 7. We ordered 3 breads and they were all not good. Small and flat with no flavor. We all normally love our naan bread and I enjoy roti with a curry, not this time. We did get the samosas and the chicken 65 as appraisers and they were both good. For $100 between the 3 of us, it was a pricy and disappointing meal with rude terrible service. If you look at my other reviews then you will see that it's rare for me to leave negative reviews. I prefer going to local places and appreciate how hard it is to survive and thrive in such a tough industry. Everyone can have a bad day, but all these issues in one dinner service need to be addressed so that other customers don't have to deal with the frustration and sick tummy after a terrible meal. There are a lot of options in the area, and I'd strongly suggest going elsewhere.

This was my first Indian cuisine experience. This cozy restaurant is beautifully decorated and welcoming. Service was impeccable and our server, Alok, was courteous and friendly. I was a bit torn between two lunch meals, and he helped me decide what to order. Portions were just right, and flavors were amazing! I am not crazy about hot/spicy foods, so I shared some of my delicacies with my friends. I'm open to trying dinner soon. Both my friends said they enjoyed their meals, and prices were reasonable. After all, they're the Indian cuisine experts

Lamb vindaloo with rice and tandoori chicken with an amazing green sauce.
    C H.

The chicken tandoori was perfection. The chicken tikki masala was good and so was the lamb vindaloo. Loved the garlic naan and the spicy edamame. They even have mocktails. Very happy with this dinner and will be back again! So glad to find this place. Always passed by it but never tried it all these years. Has indoor and outdoor seating. Chill atmosphere and nice staff. Right next to plant street market.

The food was very good and the service was excellent. Our server Aluk was great! Very friendly. We tried the All you can eat buffet and enjoyed it very much!

Their take on a tiramisu - SO GOOD (just keep in mind, they said the desserts change weekend to weekend).
    Michael J.

My wife and I decided to have a date-night dinner here. The food was excellent as was the service (Alok took great care of us). Vishnu, their new chef, with a background in pastries, is a true talent. The desserts were unreal! Highly recommend!

    Chicken Tikka Mutter Paneer

Came by on a Wednesday evening, just in time to partake on their happy hour for a 5$ glass of Pinot noir! Sipped and enjoyed it as we waited for samosa chaat as our appetizer. It wasn't at all what I expected but it was delish- a bit sweet and tangy from the yogurt with a lot of heat kicked it at the end. The Samosas somehow still remained crunchy underneath all the sauce. For our mains, we ordered chicken tikka masala and mutter paneer. Both enjoyable and well flavored. The hot naan was buttery and thin (I prefer a bit thicker one but it was still good!). Lots of outdoor seating and the service was prompt and friendly. Will be back!

    Butter Chicken
    Cesa B.

So excited to have Indian food nearby. I went for takeout dinner and had the butter chicken. I was a little put off that it only comes with rice OR naan, for $17. I guess I'm used to having the options of more sides with an entree, and thought rice was a staple. I paid an extra $5 to have cheese naan on the side. It was ok, but not super cheesy. You get to pick your level of spice, and medium had just enough kick for me. The food was good, but for $22 I expected a little more. I think I would try the lunch portion next time. For $13-15 you get a samosa, rice, naan, and more.

The restaurant was empty, out there was another Indian couple eating, so I thought that's a good sign. We visited for a late lunch on a Friday. I asked about the lunch specials which they have from 12 to 3, I think it's only weekdays but not for sure. The deal gives you so much variety and it's only $13! It comes with a main dish, two apps, soup and a dessert. Pani puri to start with the green shots, the dahi puri comes with a yogurt sauce. Samosa was perfect and I ordered the Chilli chicken with fried rice. It was soooo good, I ordered it medium but it was pretty spicy. I really loved the flavor, so unique. My husband ordered the chana masala, which was also very good. I loved the sweet ending with 1 gulab jamun, covered in the typical honey sauce. I wished there would have been more than one, but everything was excellent!!

The bhaji was fried with mostly onion and potatoes, and pretty good with the mint chutney provided. The soup was more flavorful, with either tofu or paneer and the broth having both Indian and Chinese spices. I went with the butter chicken for my main plate, and request hot level spice. My mom ordered the misal pav, while my dad took the green curry with paneer. My butter chicken was good, but there was no heat noticeable. While I tasted some spices, there was no fuel to any fire. The chicken was a bit in the tougher side, but still enjoyable because I believe it had tandoori flavor. My mom's misal pav had more heat, and was good with the lentils. After adding onions and other toppings, it brought the Indian street food flavor. We took rice instead of the bun. My dad's green curry was also good, but on the sweeter side. The paneer as the requested protein was consistent in the texture. For dessert, we took two orders of ras malai, which was homemade. It was definitely a legit dessert with the ricotta cheese balls in the milky sauce with Indian spices on top. Just delicious! After finishing the food, we all agreed that it was quite enjoyable. The service was attentive and it was table service, but there were some things we had to do ourselves. A large bottle of water was provided, and we have to fill our cups ourselves. We also had to move our used plates and items to the side of the table, the made the space quite cramped. We also packed the foods ourselves to take home. However, our server was friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is very casual, with various movie posters on the tables, and the music playing classic Indian movie songs. The dining area is small, but it was pretty quiet with not many people when we were there. Mirchi is located in a strip mall in Colonial and Dillard Street intersection, and parking was not difficult. Mirchi reminds me of a smaller version of Bombay Street Kitchen, with just a smaller dining area and more limited selection. I wish they still had South Indian options like dosa, but they stopped about two months ago. Still, for street food, it was quite enjoyable, and the prices were reasonable. We paid about 85 dollars after tips. Just expect casual, no frills atmosphere. If you are looking for a more upscale experience, their sister restaurant, Cilantro is a couple miles away in downtown Winter Garden. With the good Indian food at reasonable prices, we will come back, and also give Cilantro a try as well. Overall: B

The vegetable korma was plentiful and basmati rice was included. The korma was creamy with the cashew paste and had an ample amount of tasty vegetables. The korma was also on the milder side, but still has some spices for me to enjoy. The rice was cooked nicely to enjoy the korma with. We also had some onion nan, which was pretty fluffy, and soft after putting it on the korma. The lassi was on the thicker side, but still very enjoyable as the the yogurt texture made the drink more authentic. The ras malai for dessert is always my favorite, and this was no exception as it was 4 ricotta cheese balls in a milky sauce that had a hint of rose flavor. All food and drinks were very satisfying. Since my dad had all the food to go, I am unable to comment on the service and atmosphere. However, I know this restaurant is owned by Uday (who used to have Passage to India) in International Drive, so I knew this place would be high quality. This is a great Indian restaurant in the Clermont area, and worth the drive for people closer to Orlando. Overall: A

I liked the Paneer slightly more. The waitress said the portions are large, but we didn't agree with that. They were the same sizes as almost all Indian Restaurants. The white rice that came with the Paneer was plain and wished it had a bit more pizzaz, maybe peas, saffron for example. When you add the prices in, with the overall flavoring as fair to pretty good, we felt that it would not be on our list upon our return to Clermont. Unfortunately, the experience didn't quite live up to expectations. My wife chose the buffet, assuming everything would be freshly prepared at opening time. To our surprise, every single item on the buffet line was cold -- from the rice and chicken dishes to the biryani and palak paneer. If a restaurant opens at 11:30, the food should be hot and ready to serve. Cold curries and rice immediately take away from both texture and flavor, and in this case, the dishes tasted flat and lacked the depth of spices you expect from Indian cuisine. Based on this visit, I would recommend skipping the buffet and ordering from the regular menu instead. Buffet selections often feel like the more economical options, and here they were devoid of the bold flavors that make Indian food so memorable. I ordered the chicken biryani from the à la carte menu. It was noticeably better -- aromatic and more flavorful than the buffet items. However, it still missed an important element. Traditionally, biryani is prepared by marinating the chicken and cooking it together with the rice so the spices infuse the meat and every bite is cohesive. In this case, while the rice carried some fragrance, the chicken itself was not well marinated and tasted bland on its own. It felt more assembled than thoughtfully cooked together. Another important point is pricing. The dishes are on the expensive side, and at those prices, the flavors and overall quality should be excellent. When you're paying premium prices, you expect depth of seasoning, proper preparation, and attention to detail -- not cold buffet trays or under-marinated meat. Service was the bright spot of the visit. The staff was friendly, attentive, and welcoming throughout our meal. Overall, not a terrible experience, but certainly disappointing. With better attention to temperature, flavor development, and consistency, this place could justify its pricing -- but on this visit, it fell short.

The the goat was tender and flavorful from being with the bones. The cashew chicken was good, but also had bones. The chicken tikka was boneless and the chicken was soft. The sauces were flavorful and medium spiced. The tandoori chicken was cooked nicely, but you did need a knife and fork to cut it. For the vegetarian dishes, the okra and potato were both enjoyable. The paneer dish was a bit too sweet for me, and the vegetable biryani seemed to have golden raisins, which I didn't enjoy. For dessert, I just took the fruit custard, which was mostly just fruit in a mango milk/sauce. It was still delicious! We all agreed that the food was great here for the buffet! The service is good, but can be busy. While our plates got cleared for the first rounds, it did pile up during the second round and dessert. It didn't get cleared until we left.
