As a first time home buyer I knew the process would be confusing, stressful, and demanding. And although these traits are not completely unavoidable, working with Keegan had made the home buying process seem as seamless as possible. His attention to detail, responsiveness to calls/questions, and most of all honesty are what make him a great agent that I would recommend to anyone. It was clear he wasn't trying to get any deal done, but to ensure that I was finding the right home according to my needs, wants, and budget. When we moved to town, not knowing the Southern California realty market at all, I'm so grateful a colleague highly recommended Keegan to me. From the start, Keegan made himself available on weekends to view homes. He continually used our feedback to refine his understanding of what we were looking for, to improve results each outing. Although we saw many homes week after week for many months, his energy did not diminish. Over that time, we submitted at least 6 offers. Of those, 3 went the other way, but 3 offers hit. With each round, Keegan was very much on top of all communications and deadlines. Whether a situation calls for moving things along or prolonging interactions, he is very astute at both. Keegan is very probing, persistent, and persuasive when it comes to getting information from sellers and listing agents that will put you in good purchasing positions and help you make decisions. He doesn't promote each property just to sell it, but even argues against properties that don't suit you, based on your own criteria or red flags he sees that you don't. He always voices concerns about homes and often accurately forecasts what will later be called-out by inspectors. My wife and I feel like we've seen it all with Keegan: sellers who won't budge, sellers who are deceitful, and sellers who are pure angels. The deceitful sellers claimed there were no liens on the home and pushed to move forward very aggressively, but we never got straight answers about the solar contract. There was pressure to close the inspection contingency, but Keegan adamantly pressed for the solar disclosure, which ultimately revealed there was a $70K unpaid lien on the contract that the sellers were attempting to stick us with, under the radar. But Keegan is too smart for that. As we backed out of their poor faith agreement, the sellers and their shady escrow team would not return our earnest money (which we needed in order to make our next purchase offer). As the purchasing contract is technically between buyer and seller, we, as buyers, were technically on our own, but, again, Keegan brought in his team, this time legal. Keegan's legal team is Berkshire Hathaway. We met with his attorney who found that, because our interests and BH's interests were aligned, he graciously offered to write letters on our behalf to all involved with the hold up. The process was very reassuring as he found our case to be a likely win given Keegan's meticulous note-taking on every discussion, whether arbitration or even legal means were ultimately pursued. If the sellers didn't participate, we would have to lawyer-up in a big way, but both Keegan and his BH attorney were in frequent contact with those involved to do the right thing, and seemingly just before we were about to lay down hard cash for attorneys, Keegan prevailed. The mounting, horrible tension that had accumulated over the past two weeks magically was gone. We know we would be in a world of hurt right now, but we aren't, because of Keegan's persistence, his attention to detail, and his very capable, ready, and reliable team. We all celebrated being out of that mess, but next came our angel sellers. In seemingly every possible way, these sellers made the process as easy and lovely as possible. After going through the hell of the previous experience, we couldn't believe how sweet our experience ultimately turned out to be. These sellers went out of their way to make everything perfect. We spent time with them as they shared with us all the technical details about a home that would never otherwise be conveyed. We shared contact information and will certainly be reaching out in both directions to ease the transition. 6 months after meeting Keegan, he gave us the keys to our lovely new home. Our journey was way longer and way more complicated than expected. At every turn, Keegan was there for us. He never let us down.
