This company Cinch home services has proven to be the most incompetent, customer service negating, poorly run organization; I have dealt with in a very long time. I put in a claim on June 4 today is the 16th and my air conditioning has not been serviced yet. The first service contractor came out and did not announce that they were here. He sent a false statement back to the company saying that I wasn't home. Didn't bother to send a text or call. The replacement contractor that was scheduled did not want to reveal to me what their business address was. I'm was not comfortable with that and I requested that Cinch sent out a contractor that they have properly vetted A third service company came out was "Crown Air"(contracted through Cinch). Crown Air diagnosed my problem and Informed Cinch to order parts Cinch went through and an ordinate amount of time with a prior authorization process took about three days and ordered the part after they had a meeting. Cinch made delays claiming a prior authorization process take took 3 more days. Cinch approved the order BUT 48 hr later found the WRONG part was ordered (according to the service provider.) A request was made to order the correct part. Would you believe it ⁉again the wrong part was ordered‼ After spending nine hours on the phone, I finally found a supervisor who said that she would escalate this claim and order the part a THIRD TIME ‼ Wonder if I can get through the rest of the summer with Cinch still trying to figure out how to fix my AC? I've been with this company for more than 15 years when they were actually known as Sears Home Warranty. That is also one more reason that I dropped them. Irrespective, and after only 1 visit by a technician, my claim was denied. They stated it was because the drum was cracked. The drum was out of round, first and I told them that, repeatedly; they just did not seem to care what I said. No further visits were ever made to receive meaningful resolution. Even after having incorporated assistance from The Better Business Bureau (BBB), via the filing of a complaint, nothing productive became of my efforts. When they asked what all I would request of Cinch to be made whole, I stated just to have my dryer fixed and an apology. Cinch, wholeheartedly, refused to even consider the possibility. I have been with Cinch now for 11 months and have never filed a claim until now. My garbage disposal stop working with cause issues with my dishwasher. I was also having problems with my faucets which required me to have to cut the water off in my kitchen. After putting the request in, I was required to pay a $200 deductible upfront, which I paid. Within an hour of requesting the service and while I am at work 2 gentlemen knocked on my door and left a card in the door. I called the company and allowed them to know that I would appreciated knowing who's coming to my home and a specific time so that i can get off. The rep said she was notating this but the next day the very same thing happened again, and again I am at work. After speaking with the repair company for the garbage disposal, I was told that he would have to wait until the faucet is fixed since the water would need to be on. I received an text from Cinch advising that parts were order for my dishwasher...how the hell can parts be ordered when no one has ever been out to see what the issue is. An appliance repair person should know that when a disposal goes out its gonna cause issues with the dishwasher. NOW, Cinch is leaving me a message that ANOTHER $100 service fee will need to be paid before they can send someone out. I am contacting my attorney IMMEDIATELY as well as BBB. Our heat pump went out several weeks back and cinch came out and said that it's basically broken, but Cinch would not pay to replace it but only patch it up. I had an appointment today between eight and six and then later was told they would be here between 430p and 5:40 PM. I received a call at 3:30 PM which I was unable to get but I was home. They then stated that the appointment was canceled due to not being home, but we were in fact at home. The technician did not even leave a message or try to text and there was no way for me to reach them, cinch or Sears to speak to an actual customer service rep. Zero stars. Negative stars, if that were possible... So we got a Cinch policy when we bought a house. We paid about 800 extra to have some plumbing and other extra coverage. We ended up having a clogged plumbing line. We called Cinch and they said they didn't have anyone in network in our area. However, if we paid the 200 dollar deductible, they would be happy to let us call around and find one ourselves. We paid the deductible and found a contractor to fix the problem, after jumping through a series of Cinch-devised hoops. We never did speak to anyone who didn't have such a heavy Indian accent that we could a treally understand everything they said... The contractor charged 300 which was the limit that Cinch would cover without more hoops to jump through, involving possibly days without the use of our water. Cinch approved the repair and stated a 100 dollar check would be approved to cover the difference between our deductible and the price of the service. The next day, the "fix" that the contractor deliverd was no longer a fix. It required more work. We paid for that service and submitted the claim. Cinch stewed over this for some time and then denied the claim altogether. We had to pick a fight with them to even get our deductible back, which they were going to keep. I can't say enough bad things about this company. Their warranty isn't worth the paper it is written on. Their customer service is terrible. It is automated to the point of frustration, and then when you finally do talk to someone, it will be in a language that only resembles English. Choose another company. read more

Called for Dryer repair in January. Technician wasn't able to come until early February. When the technician finally came, he said something about the glass needing to be replaced. Since I wasn't hearing anything about what was going on, I finally decided to call the Service Provider first (who said they were waiting for approval from Cinch), then Cinch (who said that it wasn't covered!). How was anyone even supposed to know that, if nobody told them?! The plan documents say that ALL components and parts are Covered, except those shown in the Not Covered section ... which is the Temperature Booster & Steam Nozzle. Attempted to get pool pump repaired. Was told they have no providers and to find my own. I had to pay $135 for diagnosis as well as quote for $309.68 for repairs. I paid $100 for service fee to Cinch and they aren't wanting to refund even though they did not provide anyone to come out and look at pump. As well, only want to cover $195 for repairs stating the cost my company is charging is above what they believe it should be. Cinch finally blocked me on facebook for calling them out. I am on month 3 with my ac repair. THE DELAYS AND RED TAPE ARE INTENTIONAL. They only work with 3 hvac companies for the vast majority of florida because the hvac companies are in on the delays and the scam. All customer service is off shore and 3rd party. They are a bunch of cowards and SCAMMERS. If you call the Cinch 3rd party sales phone humber at 844-953-2764, they can escalate a message to a USA based Cinch representative. The scammers even outsource their sales department because they need to outsource all their complaints. A usa based Cinch representative called me to monitor my repair after I got the attention of Cinch on facebook. Her number is 954-845-2269. Cinch is trying to hand off $360 of repair work as "modification". The "modification" is a necessary repair that does not meet the contractual definition of a modification. The rep told me 1) that the tech is responsible for interpreting the contract 2) Nobody at cinch could make the decision on what is covered and what is not covered. 3) she suggested I pay someone else to do the "modification". The person at that number did not sound like a cinch employee. They had a direct line of contact with my HVAC tech. I put in a claim with Cinch for my 2 year old refrigerator which was very easy an (Carolina Appliance) came out many times trying fix the issue but they are a joke to deal with. They were clueless on why it was not working they finally just closed the ticket stating it was repaired bc they got tired of coming out. Our AC unit failed and we submitted a service request Upon arrival, the service technician stated that our HVAC unit requires replacement its 34yrs old (TRANE Unit) Cinch determined that they wanted to find parts to repair component (that being coils replacement) meanwhile my family and I have been sitting in our home with this unrelenting heat (90 degree plus) days for 2 plus weeks???? Additionally, I have elderly family members staying with me, and Cinch didn't give a got damn!!! Service request went in on July 3rd and we are still waiting for resolution. There service is absolutely horrific, their automated system is complete B.S.!!! And sadly these agents who eventually answer the phone are reading from a script. Took 3 months to replace my refrigerator, a month to repair my washer but this last one takes the cake. I almost never write negative reviews, but the actions of Cinch (my home warranty company for several years) were so egregious that I want to share my experience with others in the hopes you can spare yourselves similar problems. (1) First, Cinch hired and sent to my home a technician who was hostile, yelled at me in my own home causing me to feel unsafe, and walked off the job without completing the work. No apology or explanation for their technician's behavior was provide by Cinch when I notified them. (2) Second, Cinch denied a claim because I refused to defrost a piece of equipment in my home that I was told by the Cinch's technician would "flood my home" (the technician also recommended against it); Cinch's flimsy excuse in denying the claim was that the defrost was "necessary" for them to better assess the equipment before they could approve a replacement - basically, grasping at any poor reason to deny the claim. (3) Third, and the worst experience, Cinch selected a replacement product but failed to due proper due diligence on all associated costs, and so when additional costs arose later in the project, they refused to cover them claiming they were "code upgrades" (not covered). However, I received documentation from Cinch's technician that proved the vast majority of the costs (80%+) were NOT code upgrades. For Cinch to select a product and then fail to do proper assessment of the product and then refuse to take responsibility for their mistakes and force their customers to cover these costs out of pocket - absurd. I STRONGLY recommend against Cinch and ended my warranty with them as soon as possible. read more

On July 19, 2025, I called Cinch Home Services to repair my bathtub. I explained the issue and asked if it was covered under my warranty, and they confirmed it was. I paid the $200.00 deductible over the phone with my card on file. On July 21, 2025, Cinch Home Services sent Key City Plumbing to my home to repair my bathtub. They said that it wasn't covered under my warranty; however, they could fix it for $550. I called Cinch and asked why it wasn't covered. They said that it was covered, and they contacted a different service provider. On July 23, 2025, Allstar Plumbing came out and told me that the bathtub pipe was not covered under the warranty. On July 30, 2025, I called Cinch and asked for a refund of the $200.00 deductible. They said that they have not received a report from the provider. I escalated to a supervisor and said that I would receive an email update. On August 1, 2025, I called Cinch for an update and spoke with a supervisor from the escalation team. They told me that the deductible was not refundable because the provider said the pipe had not been installed properly. I have been in this house for a year and a half without a leak in this bathtub. This supervisor was very rude and unprofessional; she did not listen to my point of view and kept saying, Is that all? is that all? She was determined not to refund the deductible. Cinch Home Services works with the bottom-of-the-barrel contractors who try to get more money from the homeowner by saying the service job is more than the warranty covers. DO NOT USE CINCH HOME SERVICES, ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE AN OLDER HOUSE. THEY HAVE A BUILT-IN WAY TO GET OUT OF PROVIDING SERVICE AND NOT REFUNDING THE DEDUCTABLE. read more

Honestly, it's easier and far less stressful to just burn your money. In June 2024, my AC stopped working, and Cinch sent out a provider to check it. Due to the age of the system, the provider was unable to repair it and informed me that another provider would be sent. Over the next month, multiple appointments were scheduled and canceled, but most of the time, the assigned providers didn't even bother to show up. In late July, Cinch authorized me to hire my own service provider. The provider came out, assessed the system, and determined that it was beyond repair and needed to be replaced. I submitted the assessment and related paperwork to Cinch. However, they came back with a new requirement, mandating additional tests before they could proceed. I complied, got the tests done, paid for them and submitted all the paperwork, including the diagnosis from my provider confirming that the unit had to be replaced. Over the next four months, I struggled to communicate with their customer support representatives, most of whom are based in the Philippines. Due to the language barrier, these interactions were often frustrating and unproductive. Finally, in early January, Cinch informed me that, despite authorizing me to hire my own provider and mandating the additional tests, they would only reimburse $1,300 of the $2,400 I had already paid for diagnostics and testing. To make matters worse, they stated that I would still be fully responsible for the repair or replacement of the AC unit. To summarize, I am now $1,100 worse off than if I had never bothered with a contract from Cinch in the first place. On top of that, I now have to spend even more money hiring a lawyer to take legal action against this disaster of a company. Avoid Cinch at all costs. When I signed up I was told specifically what it covered and replaces my "14k fridge". I was Offered me a 400$ coil range to replace my 4800 range. Made a second claim when my in wall plumbing fixtures failed. I was told multiple times and after multiple plumbing visits damage is covered up to 5k and to have a contractor tear out. This home warranty is NOT worth purchasing. They do not pay for most things that we've had go wrong and take a really long time to process and communicate about issues. Specifically our fridge and freezer went out and even though we told them the brand (Maytag), they sent a repair person who only services GE appliances. So we had to wait longer for another company. That company determined that the friedge should be replaced because a repair would be so costly but now they want to repair the fridge which means waiting even longer for them to find someone. I will be pursuing legal action against cinch home services as well as the company they contracted asset appliance. We have had a service order open with them for our dishwasher for over 6 months. The technician has been to our house 6 times and no work has been done. The second to last time the technician was here he said the part was discontinued and that his manager would reach out. A month later and still no manager had reached out. I sent 47 emails in attempts to get their attention and not a single one was answered. We called their customer service line repeatedly asking to be connected to the manager and she told us she was contracted as well and not actually a part of the company. She didn't have the numbers to connect me to anyone she could only put in a contact request through the portal she was given. We put in no less than 7 requests and still were never contacted by assest services. We called Cinch since we couldn't contact the technician and they told us they would try and contact them but their wasn't much they could do since the diagnostic report from the technician said the dishwasher was repairable. After 6 months and 6 visits I do not believe that to be true. Cinch finally got in contact with someone from Asset appliance and they once again sent a technician. The technician took the top rack of our dishwasher, said he would be bavk in an hour, and left. We have not been able to get in connect with them since so now we might have to file a police report for theft. I have been in contact with cinch 8 times since then and they continue to request more time. They also refuse to connect me to a manager. This company is absolute garbage. I have had two claims with them in three months. The first time it took two days of phone calls, 10 days of waiting, and two different technicians to get my furnace fixed. IN DECEMBER. Four days ago, my water heater was leaking all over my floor. I contacted Cinch and they had a plumber out the next morning. He told me the unit would have to be replaced because it was leaking from the bottom. He said they should have approval to replace it by the end of the day. I did not hear from Cinch until the following afternoon. I explained that we have a non-refundable trip planned for next week and also we would like to be able to shower in our own home, and was told that they "understand" and "apologize" but they could not guarantee that they could get my water heater replaced within a week. I do not think it is unreasonable to expect that they make the repair in a week. So I cancelled the service request, cancelled my contract (the company agreed to waive my cancellation fees because I posted a bad (honest) review on Consumer Affairs. I cannot stress enough how terrible my experience has been with Cinch Home Warranty. I would not trust them to make repairs to a doghouse. Their customer service people just toss platitudes out at you, and the "case manager" they assigned to both of my claims was terrible. She never answered the phone, and when she would call me back, it was between 24 and 48 hours after I had left the message. Same with responses to my emails. The last six months dealing with this company has been awful. If I could give them a ) I would. They are a home warranty company that gets my monthly payment every month and my deductible every time I call in an appliance. During the last six months, I have had two appliances that needed fixing and they both have taken approximately two months to resolve. This company contracts service jobs out to other repair companies. The problem is, they don't have follow up and they send unqualified people to your house to fix problems which add to the wait time. It has been almost two months, and I have had three repairmen come and still I don't have a working refrigerator and they keep telling me to wait wait, wait. Who wants to keep waiting and unable to put food in their house because the refrigerator doesn't work and have to buy ice everyday to keep medicine cold and bare necessities. I have been waiting for parts to be delivered for over two weeks and the repairman has not called to schedule another time to come and there is no guarantee these parts will even work like my washer a few months ago that they ordered arts for three times and still couldn't get it to work. This is bad business for you to have any consumer wait this long for anything and the problem still exist. So please take your money and go somewhere else and use another warranty company because clearly, they don't care about the people who are paying them and paying for these warranties. So, two months and three repairmen later and I STILL DONT HAVE A WORKING REFRIGERATOR!! Unacceptable!!! read more

I'm so disappointed in sears home warranty/cinch. I called and paid $100 deductible for a latch replacement on our dishwasher. The service provider wrote down our service number wrong, and called to come and service our air conditioner. We didn't figure out why there was a mix up until later when I called for a followup. When the service provider finally showed up about a week later we were told it needed a new latch. We haven't heard from them since. We placed the work request in early August, it's now September 16, 2024. We called sears warranty at least three times in an attempt to have a different company come out and service it. Each time they gave the run around. I even asked for my $100 deductible back so I could cancel my warranty with sears. And still a bunch chaos and confusion was all we got. But, believe me... we are canceling our agreement. It's the worst customer service in the world. Smdh read more

Public published review 9/16/24 As I sit here at 5pm this is the second time for two different issues that I tried using my warranty and nobody has showed and this includes me calling both sense and sears home warranty company during the day to try to get a time when somebody would be here. The soonest available was today and I made this appointment for my AC unit over two months ago and I took off of work and kept my child home from school and sat here all day, again!! Order # 000708410826659 I called them at 12 and again at 2:30 and both times they assure me somebody was on their way, but could not give me a phone number to the technician or have them call me. It's bad enough you have to wait months to get an appointment for a nonworking air conditioner in the summer but then for them not to show up or call and I even got confirmations last night and this morning about the appointment! Nobody in customer service is obviously in the United States and are no help - not only did I take off today I spent over an hour total on the phone, trying to get a timeframe because this is exactly what happened with a washing machine claim (which they eventually gave a min amount to replace since they were no show but the $200 wasn't worth all the aggravation! They have no problem collecting your deductible months prior to the appointment but then to get a hold of somebody it is impossible. **** Find another warranty company - I use them on a recommendation from our realtor, but I assured her and let her know the issues and they will never recommend this company again!!!!! read more

Cinch Home Serves provided a horrible service when we tried to get our AC repaired. The vendor they sent was an absolute joke, he had not idea what he was doing and the AC was never repaired. We put in multiple calls to Cinch but the customer service representatives were very unhelpful and challenging to understand. I would never recommend their services and one is better off saving the monthly payments into an account which can be used for home repairs. Don't waste your money, this company is extremely inefficient. It's not worth your mental health status to deal with them. read more

This is absolutely the worst home warranty company a home owner could use. They could not find anyone to work on a garage door opener in Oklahoma City. I found one in 10 minutes that was cheaper than their deductible. Never spoke with anyone that could speak English, online claims never worked.
