**WATCH OUT ** for your children if you encounter this traveling circus act at a festival !! I was (as well as several other parent by standers) appalled at the treatment my son received while watching and supporting their traveling circus act at the Saint Columbin church festival, Sept 19,2021. We were watching the act when all of a sudden, Lauren Ashley, one of the circus talents, sprang out of their trailer and dashed over towards my son waving her Shoe at him with an extreme sense of urgency!! I was sitting towards the side and my immediate thoughts were , "Oh, wow she's excited , she's got something to tell us or she's gonna ask one of the kids to take part in the show or Something... I was shocked when I heard her starting To scream at my son about not putting his foot on their inflatable tube that they had outlining their show!! Now don't get me wrong my son should not have had his foot on it but at the same time there were no signs posted anywhere stating "No Touching" or "Stay Off!" My 9 yr old son , was very polite and kindly said ok while Lauren continued to ridicule him about how he was going to tear it up and she was sure he couldn't afford to pay for it. Keep in mind she was yelling at him in front of everyone , including his 9 yr old peers while still waving her shoe at his face! My Family has been in the entertainment business for 30 years and I have never experienced such poor treatment, harrasment and unprofessionalism as I have from this employee. I bit my tongue and didn't say anything and stood there and watched the rest of the show until the end. When it was over you were able to approach the talent and speak to them , take pictures etc. I brought my son to Lauren and she had an arrogant sarcastic overall demeanor, I told her I didn't appreciate how she approached my son At all and she said oh because he was tearing up our inflatable? With a very sarcastic and discerning personality , She continued to roll her eyes and laugh at me. Winking and telling me goodbye and then when I told her she continued by insulting him saying that you couldn't afford to pay for it she completely denied saying it. So I told her I wasn't leaving and I told her she should apologize to my son for the way she treated him and she refused. When I did turn to leave , it appeared to be probably someone there with her said rudely to me that I shouldn't have kids? Obviously, I would have to say that she doesn't! No adult should ever come darting at a nine year old child Screaming and waving their shoe in their face while all they were doing was simply there to watch and support THEM! They were very rude and unprofessional. Lauren Ashley, is obviously a true class act and The Cincinnati Circus Company should be held responsible for these kids being harassed and mistreated while they are only there to enjoy the show !! Let me start by saying the men/women who do aerial silks are rockstars. It is far more difficult than it looks! I signed up on their website for a one hour aerial fitness class with my friend for $15 each. The sign up is easy and they tell you everything you need to know. Bring water and wear tight fitted clothes. The only thing that I can really complain about is that I had no idea where I was going once I got to the address. There's a small building up front and a warehouse in the back. Luckily, we saw another lady walking towards the back warehouse so we followed. I assume they have some sort of light but it was out. The class on Thursday starts at 7pm so it was dark out and we were clueless! Once we were inside, we waited for the 5-14yo class to end before our instructor checked us all in and got us stretching. We went around and said our names and if it was our first time. Including us, there was 6 attendees. 2 of the 6 had been a few times and were pretty decent. The instructor did a great job of helping them with the harder stunts yet still giving us newbies attention. The fitness part is HARD unless you have super strong arms/shoulders. Don't expect to be doing five star flips if you're not in amazing shape. I have no upper body strength so this class was difficult for me. However, the instructor spotted me a few times and I was able to do every trick atleast once. Overall, the class was fun! I want to do it again! Just a PSA, expect to be extremely sore for atleast three days, it is a fitness class! read more

Coolest corporate event ever! Our work group did a team building event with Cincinnati Circus Company and got to experience swinging on a trapeze (the biggest highlight) and variety of other circus/acrobatic activities (low balance beam, juggling, etc.). You don't really know your co-workers until you've seen them almost lose bladder control jumping off a massive platform to swing over a net far below (with harness of course). We used a large on-site meeting room to eat a catered lunch and have an actual business meeting before the fun began and then a couple of hours of pretending we all ran away and joined the circus. Cost per person was pretty reasonable (~$35pp not including lunch) and everything seemed very safe and well-maintained and the staff was great. Would love to do this again some time! read more

We contracted with this company to help us with a casino night as a corporate function in Cleveland Ohio, It was a state convention for a contractor organization. In spite of some challenging travel to the location, the team of professionals were amazing! The event could not have gone better mostly because of the attitude and aptitude of the employees. Everything from the table games to the decorations to the entertaining during the downtime was professional and made the evening very enjoyable. This review is regarding solely the aerial silks classes. Today, I took my mom to the Aerial Fitness class. For reference, I've dabbled in silks for a few years and I've been consistently training for the past year, in a different state. I've taken classes at eight different studios, so I've seen my fair share of good teachers and bad teachers, and I feel confident in my ability to evaluate my limits as an aerialist and understand what a safe practice is. I have a healthy respect of the danger involved in circus arts. As such, I do not feel that the teaching at this aerial fitness class was adequate or fully safe. The class was led by a main teacher, and assisted by another. We began with a brief warm-up consisting of a small amount of jogging and then some stretching. While slightly more aerobic activity would have been ideal before stretching, this was fine. Then, we began doing conditioning moves. The main teacher seemed unprepared for class, as she was uncertain what other moves we could be doing out of a low knot, and was asking the assisting teacher for ideas. Honestly, this really made her come off as inexperienced and unprofessional; it's really not hard to make a list of which exercises the class will be doing ahead of time. After several conditioning moves, she encouraged us to get water (which is great!). While we did so, she started playing around on another aerial apparatus with other aerialists. Even when the class was clearly ready to continue, she was still playing on the apparatus and chatting with other people. I found this to be mildly unprofessional-- students didn't pay you to stand there and ignore them while you fool around. Next, we moved on to performing some moves in a waist-high knot, most from inverting to a straddle. Unfortunately, the fan in the room was extremely loud which made it essentially impossible to hear the teacher's instruction. I cannot emphasize enough how not okay that is. I realize the room is hot, but it's absolutely essential for beginning students to gain information regarding technique, what could go wrong, how to avoid things going wrong, etc,. especially for those who have never inverted on a silk before. In addition, the teacher did not demonstrate and then check in with the students-- basically, she demonstrated (which no one could hear), then played around in the pose without helping to adjust the students. The assistant teacher was doing her best to help students, but there were about six of us, each with our own silk, and she couldn't get to all of us before the main teacher tried to move on to something new. As a result, I saw one or two students who were unable to achieve the move and were just standing there helplessly, unsure what to do. In addition, let me emphasize how wrong it is for a teacher not to spot students who have never inverted before. Students who haven't been upside down before may not realize the importance of straddling out-- they could try to flip over, go straight through the silks, and fall on their necks. Since the main teacher didn't appear to be paying attention, I spotted my mom during the move. I feel bad for any other students that were struggling and didn't receive any pointers or help. That being said, my mom had a lot of fun! And that's what's important (after safety, of course). But overall, I really think the teachers here could improve by: 1) Being more prepared for class. The teacher should know ahead of time what conditioning moves will fill the class. 2) Supervising beginners more. When you're explaining a move, have everyone gather around and listen while you show it. Then spot people as they try it. Beginners don't need to have their own silk, and probably shouldn't. Spot students, then have them rotate out to rest while you spot someone else. 3) Making sure people are feeling successful! If I had been a newbie in the class, I would've felt confused and probably pretty shitty. I know because I've been in classes like that before, where you're looking around helpless because you don't understand. I saw people looking like that. My mom would have felt like that otherwise. That's not good. Oh, and clean up your space. It was really dirty in there. I understand the concrete floors being dirty because of the warehouse situation, but the silks were gross and clearly needing to be washed. read more

My 10 year old daughter has been taking aerial silks classes for 5-15 year olds for a month now and she loves it! The instructors are very friendly and great with kids. They keep it fun during instructions and make sure everyone is safe. She's getting a great workout and loving it! read more

The Cincinnati Circus Company has done two different events for my work, Family Feud and Clue (Murder Mystery Luncheon) and both were TERRIFIC! The actors are polite, professional, on time and extremely talented! A+++++ from me! read more

The company I work for held an employee event last month and hired the Cincinnati Circus to set up carnival themed booths and inflatable games. Let me start by saying that they told us they would show up to set up the booths at 9:00am, but did not get to our location until 11:30am. They were so behind that they were not prepared when employees began to arrive at the start of our event. Completely unacceptable! When we mentioned them arriving late, some worker told us " We're really busy this weekend." Well, then they should not have told us they were available for our event if they were already over-booked. They did not have enough workers or even equipment to get everything set up in time. The worst part was that the event coordinator was not giving any of the other workers direction on what booths to put together or how to help, which was another reason our booths were not set up in time. The other workers were polite, but at least 5 of them were just standing around while the coordinator was totally unprepared-- she didn't even know what carnival games needed to be set up for our event 10 minutes before it was supposed to start. Myself and the rest of the group that helped plan this event were upset about the entire interaction with the Cincinnati Circus. I will say that I have never been to their building location, so I cannot comment about that, but I would definitely not recommend their outside services for any type of company event. read more

I went to see a show of their One Ring Circus show. It started off looking shaky because of the inflatable ring around a bunch of crammed in circus gear, including the aerial equipment mixed with the trapeze. Before I sat down, I had been walking around and had noticed a tangled mess of wires and cables behind set, not safe!! The performers were extremely unprofessional off set, a lot of swear words and vulgar language where there were kids around. The names of the performers were Allie, Adam, Connie, Ben and there was another I can't remember. I've taken classes for years in aerial fitness, in another state, so of course as I went to enjoy this show, I'll admit I was also judging. There were several aerial mistakes made that I noticed. Not necessarily technical moves but just performance. There was zero performance aspect. The interaction between Adam and Allie seemed sincere but among the other cast members it was awkward at best. The younger brunette looked as if she were trying far too hard to be flirtatious and put on a show revolving around her vs the whole cast. That may be her role, I'm not sure. I just know it looked awful. On the subject of her, when I was walking around before the show I overheard her saying rather loudly how drunk she got one time. She looks no older than 18, that is not appropriate of her. Not a good role model. As the show went on there were some funny moments, some cool trick here and there. The kids loved the show, but from an adult standpoint and a performer standpoint, it lacked nearly everything that makes a performance good. There was poor posture, poor eye contact when doing tricks, facial expressions seemed forced, everything. I wouldn't recommend their show until they've had a great deal more of practicing. read more
