Originally, one of the biggest perks of the Cincy Y membership was that it allowed you to use all Cincinnati branches. Now, you can go to any Ohio YMCA with your membership! Way to go! I know the membership pricing varies based on economic conditions, and while the Y certainly isn't the cheapest option, I will say they offer a lot of bang for your buck if you are willing to take advantage. Pools and saunas at most locations, fitness classes offered at all of them and at varying times, ActiveTrax to customize your fitness regime, weight rooms, workout facilities, personal coaching, and various free training programs from weight loss to competitive running to healthy eating make the YMCA not just a weight room, but a comprehensive facility for better living. I will say that while the Y offers a wonderful program for synchronized and competitive swimming, it wreaks havoc on the pool availability schedule. During the school year, expect the pool to be occupied whenever the children can be there. Even with 3 pools available at the Powel Crosley, it is difficult to discern from the schedule when the pool is open to the public. The good news? You can always call and talk to a human being.

We attended the orientation and free class offered by Swift Movement and was blown away by the professionalism, the immersive environment and the friendly staff. My son began his first lesson and was soon climbing to new heights (LITERALLY) within one hour. The equipment is well designed and sturdy. The cost for membership is extremely affordable. However, as a busy family, the nicest surprise was the introduction to the zenplanner app that is used to schedule classes. We can see how many kids have signed up for particular classes, easily coordinate attending special events and even cancel a reservation (with 12 hours notice) very easily. As a member, you are able to attend unlimited amounts of classes and there are many scheduled throughout the week, that my child could attend two each day if our schedule allows it. He is begging to go each day! I highly recommend Swift Movement Studio as creative alternative to typical fitness classes for both children and adults.

Everyone was soo welcoming and friendly. I made so many friends and loved the classes. The teachers are the best. Mrs. Kay, Mrs. Holly, Mrs Jess, Mrs. Lori. They are all great. I took classes from each of them. They put on wonderful shows every year. Amazing theatre performances. There was a time I was taking lyrical 1, hip hop, tap ballet jazz and theatre. I don't know how I did it. I no longer attend here as I have fallen out of my love for dance. But I highly recommend it. Especially theatre. They offer classes for pretty much anyone. Even sometimes adult classes. And classes for toddlers and remarkable movement.

Our home Y is the one in Fairfield but we venture over to this one now and then and it's always worth it. They have better childcare hours, too.
