Two words... WHITE QUESO! They have the BEST! We have "Taco Tuesday" every week at home and my husband always stops and gets the white queso from here to add to our meal. I have lived in Lindale for more than 20 years, and have seen places come and go in this location. Today I decided, based on lack of options to give the new place a shot, and, man, I'M GLAD I DID! I had a fajita burrito and took it to go. They brought it out super fast, which at first was concerning, but when I got it home I was very surprised at the quality. The beef was tender and flavorful, the gravy was amazing. All in all, this place is an excellent addition to our little village. read more

The food was great but the service was S-L-O-W. We waited 35 minutes for our food. We chose this restaurant, as we were driving through heading home from a long trip, knowing that most Mexican food establishments are quick. This is the last time I will go here, unless I'm in no hurry. Like I said, the food was great! Just took forever to get it, more chips and refills. This food is solid. Some of the better Mexican food in Lindale. When I went there, they had specials for the burritos, super cheap for large quantities of food. The staff is helpful and are very knowledgeable of their food. Nice and quiet little restaurant, really nice vibe inside. read more

The food was very good, the price was about what you would pay at say Pasados or Chillie's. The only negative was that the food took a really long time to come out, like an hour. Which is tough when you have to preschoolers. read more

They have a cactus dish that is served on a lava rock plate, I cannot pronounce or even spell it, but I sure can eat it. It would be worth the drive to Mexico to eat it, but you don't have to it is in Lindale. So go there and enjoy and don't miss out. read more

A lot of delicious, fresh food with friendly service. Can't beat the prices. A warm, down to earth atmosphere and the best Mexican food around. Shrimp nachos, taco salad, shrimp fajita bowl were all amazing. Lettuce was crisp, avocados were fresh and ripe, salsas were authentic, tortillas were wonderful, cheese tasted real and bottle heavily processed. Usually eat Mexican food in Tyler at Chueys, but didn't want to drive there (live in Lindale) today. I had #23(2 cheese enchiladas & 1 beef enchilada) & wife had enchiladas & flautas. Refried beans are okay. Rice was good. #23 had white cheese sauce that was fair (wouldn't order it again). Guacamole had to much cilantro for our taste. Service was good but not great. The food was great. The different types of salas they bring out to you was tasty. Now the service on the other hand was horrible, took 10 min for a refill. I can understand if the restaurant was busy but there was only two other tables besides mine. The waitress took my order and had to come back and ask again after awhile cause she had forgotten. Visited this restaurant after my sister in law recommendation. The restaurant is small but welcoming. Staff was very knowledgeable about their menu. I order the beef soup aka caldo de res; it came with tortillas, cilantro, onions and sautée dry peppers. The taste was delicious and very similar to the one that I get back in my home town. The different salsas they offered were very tasty. I definitely will comeback. read more

We stopped at this place on the way to Shreveport. We had breakfast tacos, eggs, bacon, pancakes, and queso blanco. Everything was great. Especially the chips and two different salsas and Queso!! Cinco De Mayo is my family's favorite restaurant in Lindale. Authentic Mexican food at reasonable prices and a friendly staff.

At about 2:30 P.M. on December 29, 2016 I was driving through Lindale, Texas, and decided to stop for a late lunch at Cinco de Mayo. My car is a small Honda with California plates. I parked in front of the restaurant and went in. A waitress showed me a table and I sat down and looked at the menu she handed me. I got up and walked toward the counter area to get a look at the beer menu display on the wall. I decided to get a 12-ounce bottled Mexican beer to start and called the waitress over to order one. She asked for my driver's license for ID, which I thought strange, as I'm 63 years old and totally gray, but I showed it to her. It was an older lapsed license (I had the valid one in my wallet also). She walked back to the kitchen area behind a door near the counter area. After less than a minute she returned and said she needed to see a valid license. Again, I thought this strange to order a beer, thinking that a lapsed license adequate for ID purposes. I showed her my valid California driver's license, which she looked at intensely and at my face, obviously to compare the photo with my face. After this treatment, I decided this a bit too much, and told her I'd changed my mind about getting anything. I got up and left. All of the conversation was conducted calmly, without any show of emotion. I decided the most I could do was register my experience here as either a warning to tourists passing through, or a reassurance to customers that the establishment is diligent about the identity of it's clientele. Since I ended up not ordering anything, I can't judge the quality of their food. read more
