We wanted to try a New Mexican restaurant and this one came up in the results. The food was good, I'd say 7.5-8/10. We went there on a Saturday at 9PM; no customers were there. So, the service was fast. I think people order take out from here rather than dine in. I can see why as it's a rather small shop.

Delightful little place! Cozy and colorful with a festive vibe, decorative table tops, plenty of indoor seating and a big parking lot. Service was excellent. We were the only seated diners but they were managing a vey busy take out as well. Our meals were freshly prepared as we could see the chef grilling from our table. We shared the guacamole and chips which was served in a cute saddle shaped bowl. We got 2 taco platters - Al pastor and chicken. The server gladly honored our request to hold the beans and instead double the rice. The dinners were served hot and the presentation was charming. The manager came to the table and we chatted a bit about the spicy cerrano pepper sauce served on the side of both taco dishes. The portion sizes were very generous and we both left with full leftover containers. Looking forward to our next visit!

Family owned Mexican restaurant. Great tasting food. Warm and friendly environment. Highly recommended.

This is instantly my new favorite Mexican restaurant! The food here outshines every Mexican cuisine in the area. There's both indoor and outdoor seating. Service is great, but the food takes a little longer than usual to prepare. I don't mind because it's worth the wait. You have to try this place, you won't be disappointed!

Cinco de Mayo is a cute little Mexican restaurant tucked away alongside a home in Washington Crossing, PA. It can easily be missed if you're not specifically looking for it and it's location isn't the best as it's a few minutes away from the Delaware River and the main hub of activity around Washington Crossing Historic Park. The restaurant doesn't look like much from the outside, but you're greeted to wonderfully vibrant and tastefully decorated interiors. There's only a handful of tables, but I doubt they need more as it was practically deserted around late lunchtime on a weekend afternoon when we visited. Staff consisted of 2 people, one of which was a cook and the other a lady who seemed very disinterested in being there and wasn't particularly engaging. She didn't explain if there was table service like a proper restaurant, so we wound up ordering at the counter and also had to return there to pay as it didn't seem like the kind of place where they drop off a check at the table. Meals started with a complimentary basket of chips and 2 types of salsa, which is always welcome when starting off a meal. For lunch, we went with a chicken chimichanga and a chicken quesadilla. Food was on the pricier side, and I felt they could do much better business with a reduced price lunch menu rather than have an all day menu with large portion sizes. Both the meals were pretty average and unremarkable with regards to taste and quality; having had more flavorful Mexican food in Bucks County, it was a bit of a disappointment. Perhaps they are cutting some corners due to low business, but their beans were pretty liquidy and runny unlike ones in pictures shared by others on Yelp. We weren't asked how the food was or if we wanted anything else, so service wasn't really a focus here and I wasn't exactly sure if gratuity was warranted, but wound up leaving some for the very limited service that was provided. All in all, this was an average food experience, and we'll likely head a bit farther north to New Hope for dining next time we're in the area as there's a larger variety of food options there than in Washington Crossing.

Been driving by this location every day for the last 6 months and finally stopped in for lunch. Great ambiance, great service, and great authentic cooking. I will definitely be back and I highly recommend!!

It is terrific to have a legit Mexican kitchen in this piece of Bucks County, especially with those wannabe joints that mimic the Chipotle assembly line approach all around. Cinco de Mayo (Mexican Independence Day), is small, with only a few tables in the old place on Taylorsville Road, Upper Makefield, that has been a pizza shop and burger house in the past. We stopped in for dinner the other night. Although we were alone when entering, the dining room quickly filled to near capacity with a large family and several individuals eating in. Service was friendly and informative, and it was obvious that the folks running the business were sincerely hoping to please everyone with their cuisine. We ordered the Birria Burrito and Flautas Combo, along with a large glass of Tamarindo juice for washdown. My son really liked the Birria and the side bowl of thick spicy beef soup for dipping. He said it was better than the Beef Tips au Jus he recently ate elsewhere. It was a zoftig wrap stuffed to max, but the young man devoured every morsel. My Chicken Flautas were four fat rolled tortillas, full of ground bird with cheese and spices, deep fried and topped with greens and crema. It came with orange rice and refried beans. It was enjoyable, but the chicken mix was a little dry. I was glad for the Tamarindo to assist with the digestion. It was fresh and sweet. The sides were excellent, too. This operation has a strong chance of success here. Maintain your quality and value, and people will keep you very busy. Buena Suerte, amigos!

This place is one of the best Mexican restaurants I have found since moving to the Northeast 10+ years ago. This small family-run restaurant serves a wide variety of options and I can only imagine that they are all delicious. We ordered the Chilaquiles w/ chicken and green sauce and the Birria Tacos. Both were excellent! I highly recommend that you give this place a try. We are from NY and will certainly be making the drive down for more.

What an excellent meal. Great flavors, nice size platters, very friendly staff. Worth a try, and in our backyard. Highly recommend!

Nachos gave me horrible, violent food poisoning. Eat at your own risk!! And they were supremely mediocre. Not worth it, trust me.

We always do delivery so we called to straighten the issue out and have it delivered today and when we called the restaurant they told it's no one there speaks English. They can't help us. WHAAT?! My head is spinning. I will be back to follow up on this one. Ok I left that so that you could see what my initial problem was, but I am extremely impressed with a quick response from Ricardo, who I believe is one of the owners and the help I got from the restaurant itself. And yes, I found several people that spoke English. And I'm so happy to be able to update this because the food is out of this world. But they did tell me that I have to order through DoorDash that I can't order for delivery through them so just note that And definitely stop by because this food is so outstanding that I don't believe there's any other Mexican restaurant that can touch this I lived in Arizona for five years and I found out what real Mexican food taste like and all the wonderful fresh ingredients they use like the American version of Chinese food. The American version of Mexican can be way way off and that's a shame because Mexican food is so healthy and so fresh when it's made by the right people that you can eat healthy and be extremely happy at the same time.

We have come mostly on a Friday afternoon for dinner and the place is very empty. Which is so sad because the decor alone is reason enough to come here and give them a chance! It is like transporting yourself to a fun restaurant in downtown Cancun. Every single wall is painted or has some type of artisanal art work....plus can we talk about the GIANT HORSE in the middle of the restaurant! Alright now for the food, I would highly recommend getting the tacos Al pastor. They are some of the best tacos and come filled to the brim with delicious meat and pineapple. We always get a plate of these! The next thing I would not miss are the sopes, my husband loves these because they remind him of crunchy arepas. They bring a delicious salad, tons of cheese and meat. Just make sure to ask for some salsa Verde and creme to go with them. Finally if you like Birria, I highly recommend the Queso Birria or the Birria Pizza if you have an appetite. Both have perfectly seasoned meat and great for sharing. As for drinks I would not miss the Mangonaza or the Horchata, both are perfect to balance your meals. Make sure to check this place out and see what you think, you will probably see me there too!

Positives: gazpacho was so fresh, Fritos app was good. Taku taku was delicious. However this is the third time I've gone and something is pretty off - previously just some very fishy ceviche (but also have had great ceviche there too! my sister loves it every time). The mole had an overwhelming clove taste added, the nachos were just okay, and unfortunately the guacalote was inedible to us and $17. I am not sure if they usually use fresh corn, and ran out, but the corn was clearly from a can with an overwhelmingly canned taste and the guac was very tart/ sour. When asked, the servers were very nice, and assured us it was fresh corn. Being from Jersey access to some of the best corn, I can whole heartedly say this was not the case for our dish. This is a great menu option! and I hope they take the feedback to ensure it is fresh every time, or be transparent if they are out of corn/what they are using. I know many people do not care at all, and it's become typical for restaurants to used canned corn. This dish was also an appetizer and came out very late, I wish they had just removed it from our bill after the long wait/ all 3 of us agreeing the flavor was very off. Huge contrast from the soup special which tasted super fresh and we could definitely taste the difference in quality! Again, servers were very pleasant and absolutely doing their best.

Apparently new owners and a tweaked menu since July 2025. Only one vague review which wasn't very helpful so we did not know what to expect and excited to try. Eight of us for Friday lunch in a pretty empty restaurant. Nice atmosphere with outside patio seating. Patio faces the patio of PJ Whelihan's which had a big lunch crowd. On to the food...most everyone ordered the tacos. Some choices were a hit (honey shrimp and salmon tacos) and some were not...pulled pork was too dry and a shrimp taco too spicy. I ordered the fiesta bowl with added salmon and cauliflower rice. Glad to have a healthy choice. I "think" it could have been good...however, I kept pulling un-edible stringy scalions out of my mouth which took away from my enjoyment and grossed me out. (I attached a picture). I also was not able to concentrate on our conversation bc I was focused on getting them all out of my bowl and my mouth...there were a lot! I showed it to our server who didn't seem to care. I tried to be helpful and suggested he show it to the chef since it was very disgusting and added nothing to the taste. I cannot imagine anyone wanting to eat those nasty scalions. On a good note, my salmon was good. I can see this being a popular place for a young customer...those who like Taco Bell. After re-reading my own review...I deducted a star. Sorry to the owners however I felt a manager or owner should have come around to our table. Such a shame...we truly wanted to love it. Oh and...good luck with parking!
