We love crab so we were very delighted that a crab restaurant opened so was close to us. The interior of Cincy Crab had the usual nautical pictures and plastic fish. We were seated right away. The wooden walls and booths were scribbled with graffiti and signatures. There was a piece of paper on the wall that said they no longer allowed people to write on the wall due to profanity and inappropriate language. The crab was okay. We got a nice portion. My only issue is that is was drenched in butter -- shell and all. We got a big greasy plate full of crab. The small half potato and a quarter cob of corn provided with crab were tasteless. They do not serve the steamed crab and then the butter is a little cup on the side like you would expect. Also they did not have Old Bay seasoning which I love and always get with crab legs. Instead they had a Cajun seasoning which was just okay and tasted like a muddled mixture of various peppery type spices. The service was adequate. We used a coupon to bring the price down. But we still haven't decided if we will return here. read more

Went here on a busy Friday night. The wait wasn't too long for a party of 4. We waited for about 20 minutes or so to get seated. Once seated though, we can see the waitress going around and acknowledging other tables besides our table. I knew she saw us because she looked at us and turned away a few times and waited on other tables that sat down after us. I didn't get her name because she wasn't wearing a name tag nor did she say her name. We waited at least 10 to 15 minutes or so before WE had to wave someone down to take our order. The only reason I'm giving this a 3 star rating was because of the food. The food was great. The snow crab legs, the green mussels, sausage, and shrimp tasted awesome with the all mixed sauce. If the services was better this would've been a 5 star rating. We don't have many place 8n Cincy to get good seafood...and sorry to say this isn't one either...well maybe. I lived in Baltimore for a really long time and got used to seafood boils and have made alot if them.myself. The seafood is cooked right but you can tell the dont steam it all together because the seafood isn't seasoned. The actual seasoning is some sort of oil based seasoning...not butter. It is ok...if you like that oily taste. I got the boil with crab legs, shrimp, and mussels. Dont get me wrong...I ate it all but it didn't hit that spot, that seafood is suppose to hit. Decided to stop in here to check out the seafood selection and I thought seafood might be a healthIer choice then some of the other restaurant options. My husband and I decided to go with combo #2 to share and went with the Cajun seasoning. It was delicious (but not diet friendly as it is swimming in butter!) but was the sort of meal I love having when I'm vacationing by the ocean so it was not only nostalgic but delicious too! The cons would be the environment. We were seated next to the waitstaff booth so every time anyone needed to submit an order they had to squeeze by my husband. No idea why this table exists as it's awkward for the customer and staff. Also the table was super small so had to eat awkwardly to make everything fit. All in all it was a good place to check out and would eat here again for sure! Great prices for a good amount of food! I try to go every time I'm in Cincinnati and it's worth it. The only downside is that the boil bag has a lot of oil/greasy in it. So I'd suggest putting your seafood on a separate plate and scooping the seasoning out of the bag. Other then that, it's great! read more

Don't waste your money. They don't sell half lbs an on top it they rip you off. Me and my husband got a broil from here an they put one extra extra small red potato in the bag plus one corn an that's suppose to be a seafood broil. It was a fairly nice experience. The food was acceptable and the wait times were reasonable. In general the experience was fairly positive. Our only negative involve the decor of the restaurant I do not know who made the decision to allow people to write all over the walls but it gives the restaurant a very urban and low type of look, also some of the graffiti could be described as inappropriate. This restaurant would rank much higher if they could clean their walls of some of the filth written on them and simply have nicely stained wood panels it would make the experience a bit classier and offer a better overall general atmosphere. If I wish to dine inside of a dirty New York subway car I would simply go to New York and picnic in the Brooklyn railyard. However I do not think that this restaurant want to emulate a nyc subway train car. Perhaps a rethinking of the decor may be in order. read more

I ordered a lunch special several days ago which is $19.99. It is supposed to have one lbs of seafood, two corns, two potatoes and two eggs. However, after I picked it up and went back home, I found it only has several small shrimps, one corn and one potato. I called the restaurant and was told one lbs of shrimp only has 12 shrimps. But their 12 tiny shrimps were impossible to be 1lbs. I also asked why there was only on potato and one corn without eggs. Their manager asked me to drive back to their restaurant to add rest of stuff to the bag. It was ridiculous for me to drive back to get those stuff. By the way, their cajun flavor is tasteless anyway. I will not recommend this restaurant to anyone else. read more

Wow! Great place will be back. I order a cincy special with snow crab, clams, and shrimp with extra corn and extra potatoes for about 34.00 which for the quality and quantity is amazing. I order take out and I had everything the seasoning was delicious I didn't even use my side order of butter. I ordered the mix all with medium spice which was very flavorful but a little salty next time I may just get cajun and butter. Take out service had me in and out in 10 minutes, everyone was nice and helpful. This place is so good I will be bringing my dad here for his birthday in August! I really love the food and individuals among the staff are really friendly. However, they brought out paper plates for the appetizer and the marinara sauce was in its prepackaged container, way tacky and cheap. The food was packaged well and hot even after a drive home which was very nice. Portions were great, seasoning was great, and everything was cooked properly. Wow. If you are white you may not be welcome here. We were a party of three. The restaurant was half full. All the people seated were black and all were tended to. We were three white people who were totally ignored in excess of 10 minutes. Several servers walked by us, literally no one gave us so much as eye contact. All the servers were black. We got up to leave. I ask for the manager. There were 4-5 black servers standing around. Basically I stated the above info. The manager said he was sorry that it was an an"accident". Stopped in for dinner. Not knowing they stole the whole concept from a famous place in Georgia, I was first struck by all the writing on the walls. As noted by another poster, some of it is profane and sexual. I didnt like that. Next, I ordered lobster tail. It came in a bag with ONE tiny red potato and one small and soggy portion of corn on the cob. I was like....You Kidding Me??? The lobster was THE worst. Rubbery and very tough. The server actually told me I should order an appetizer or else I wouldn't have enough food. They do not make it known that they do not give refills (sorry..this concept went out of style 20 years ago). My guest asked for a small modification to a side dish, and the server basically said No. This was not a fun meal. Pricey , too. I would have been better off going to Red Lobster. Food was good but will not be back. Not sure what atmosphere the restaurant is trying for but there is graffiti on the walls including the booths. Unfortunately, the graffiti includes profanity both words and "sketching" along with gang like slang. Do not take children or you will have a lot of explaining to do when they try to read the messages and ask about the drawings. Not the kind of place to visit as a family.
