Went here for the first time with my hubby. He ordered the 2 piece fish ($8.59) which came with 2 hush puppies, a drink & 1 side (mac n cheese). I got the Monday special: $5.99 for chicken livers, a biscuit, 1 side (green beans) & a drink. Hubby said the fish was good & so was the mac n cheese. I loved the chicken livers. The green beans & biscuit were good also. Service was great & the dining area was clean. I'd definitely return here for the chicken livers. read more

Hey, why is it these "world famous" places aren't known anywhere else in the world? All the time I was near the ocean, I never heard of Jocko's Chicken and Seafood. I only knew about them when I was driving down U.S. 127 to Cincinnati or across S.R. 129/High Street through Hamilton. $7.99 for 5 pieces of good-sized shrimp, 2 pieces of fish, and 2 side items isn't bad. That said, I kind of choked when she said $10 something after I'd added a drink. This is a fast food place, after all. Then, while I was standing there, someone came into the store complaining that he didn't get his fish sandwich, and the gentleman who responded to him said that they threw out the fish because it wasn't very fresh. That made me feel both good and nervous. What else wasn't fresh and needed to be tossed? (Hopefully not my cookies!) Also, as I was waiting, the woman from the cash register was mentioning orders, as they apparently don't have a numbering system to make it easier to announce when food is ready. As my food arrived, I went out to a clean table. In fact, all of them seemed to be clean. The shrimp were a good size, but had zero taste, as far as I could tell. The breading didn't really add any taste either. The fish was good, and a couple of times, I wondered if it was some sort of funky chicken--no, it didn't dance, but usually, places just serve generic white fish because people don't like fish. The Macaroni and Cheese was good, as were the mashed potatoes and gravy. The hush puppies were dry enough to be used instead of paper towels. Maybe, they could put some in the rest room, if they run low on paper towels. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great. I got a good portion of food. I just wished it was bursting with flavour. Great affordable, friendly place to eat. The fish is out of this world good. I have never thought of fish being something I'd go for but I came home one day and my daughter was eating a fish meal, so I said that looks good let me have a bite, and she replied no but you can have some of my Mac and cheese or green beans. I was like nah I just wanted to try the fish. So I thought it must be pretty good with her not wanting to share. So I went and got one for myself and now I see why. It's absolutely delicious. It was good. Reminded me of when we ate at popular seafood chain with my mom in Cleveland. Fish was piping hot. Unfortunately the rest of it was a little lower in temperature. I don't know what was going on there the day we blew in. There were a lot of people entering the lobby from the drive thru and people who had been waiting in the lobby who after ordering changed their minds and requested their monies back. Used to be my Wednesday go to. But after years of 3 piece chicken dinners, Tuesday fish specials and Friday fantail shrimp dinners - I won't be going back. The last time I went I noticed the prices were higher which was fine, you expect a price increase now and then. My problem was a higher price plus no second side. Tuesdays fish night was worse, not only was there no longer a second side - it was now only a two piece dinner instead of a three piece dinner. When I complained I was told I could forgo the $1.99 regular drink for a $1.99 regular side... if I paid an additional .25 cents!!! So even more money - lol. Former Lee's Famous Recipe Chicken chain. Two locations, Main Street in Hamilton and Pleasant Ave at Symmes in Fairfield. Seafood is all frozen, not bad, not great. Chicken is decent, as you would expect. If you have been to a Lee's Famous then you know what to expect. Look for coupons! read more

This has nothing to do with the food and everything to do with customer service. I was just up at the Hamilton location when a guy started having a seizure. Squads from Hamilton and Fairfield Township got there and came in to take care of him. By the time they got in, he was coming out of his seizure and they were taking time to make sure he was ok and didn't need to go to the hospital. In the meantime, the female manager cane out and told the fire department they had to make the man leave immediately and they told him no. Then she turned to the man and told him to get out of her restaurant because he was scaring the other customers. The man was not on drugs but was having a medical emergency and should never have been treated that way!! If anyone was scared, it was because of her and had nothing to do with someone having a medical emergency. This is absolutely unacceptable treatment of a customer!! As long as she is employed by Jocko's, I will never go back to that location, and I will make sure to tell everyone I know to avoid that place. read more

My husband stopped and picked up a fried chicken dinner for the family. The sides were macaroni salad, cole slaw, potato salad, mashed potatoes and gravy, and biscuits with honey. It was delicious! Nothing was greasy, the chicken was not injected with anything to make it fake juicy, and the pasta salad was actually good. The only thing I didn't care for was the potato salad. It was made with dill pickles and was a little vinegar-y. There was nothing wrong with it, I just like sweeter potato salad. We will definitely stop there again the next time we are going through Hamilton. read more

this place is really weird. i walk in and theres a dude just standing at the counter and no one's there. it seemed like it had been like that for a bit, but i cant know. after a couple of minutes, someone came out from the back, told the man that she had been in the restroom, got a spritz of hand sanitizer, and disappeared into the back. then the cashier came out. she was very curt, but not in a cool or funny way. just kinda rude. when it was my turn, i asked for a number 2, the 3 piece chicken. she said they didnt have a 3 piece combo, so i directed her to the menu to show her that there was. she didnt look at me for the rest of my order. the food was served on styrofoam plates and the cashier just kinda threw it across the counter while i was getting my drink. my boyfriend got a side of mashed potatoes that we agreed tasted exactly like the mashed potatoes we had in school, and the chicken wasnt anything special. it seemed a little like reheated kfc. considering thats the jocko's original, the thing that made jocko famous, i dont think ill be coming back here. read more
