Greeted with a smile immediately upon entry, the entrance to the front door was so pretty, nice greenery and fountains and potted plants such as nice upscale vibe which continued into the restaurant, everything flowed beautifully. The server was attentive and brought a refill of immediately once I drank my water down a bit. The food came out quickly, we had a group of 6 of us and were able to split bread and calamari & octopus , the medium size was plenty for everyone to get a bit. It was delicious and I loved the spicy cocktail sauce that it came with. The accompanying garlic bread was really tasty too. My entree didn't last very long at all! The charr on the bacon wrapped shrimp was superb. The garlic butter on the side was flavorful and complimented the dish beautifully. The dirty rice was super yummy and I couldn't help but be the first from the party of 6 to finish. It was filling but didn't feel too heavy. I'll definitely be back as this is a new favorite of mine.

Worth the Drive! It's not often I'd consider driving 4.5 hours just to eat at a restaurant again--but Pappadeaux in Springdale, OH absolutely earned that honor. While visiting the Cincinnati area, we decided to give it a try despite mixed Yelp ratings, and wow... the heavens opened and the angels sang. The food, service and setting were outstanding. First, ask for Nick--phenomenal service. Portions are huge: between two of us, we shared one appetizer, one gumbo, one entrée, and one dessert and still had enough leftovers for another full meal. I also have a food allergy, which can make dining out stressful, but not here. Both our waiter and the manager asked all the right questions, and the kitchen took special care to accommodate me. That extra attention meant a lot, and I'm truly grateful. The Shrimp & Crawfish Fondue is reason alone to come here--rich, indulgent, and unforgettable. The sausage and seafood gumbo was loaded with real lump crab meat (okra included--not my preference, but still tasty). The star of the night was the grouper topped with jumbo crab, easily one of the best-prepared seafood dishes I've ever had. Dessert sealed the deal: praline bread pudding with coffee. I'm not usually a bread pudding fan, but this cobbler-style version was spectacular. Our entire drive home was spent talking about how incredible the experience was. This is exactly the kind of meal that makes dining out feel worth every penny. Well done, Pappadeaux--we'll be back, and I only wish you had a location in Nashville!

Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen located in Cincinnati, OH Food: I Visted with a party of five, we order crab cakes, Cobb salad, gumbo, chicken tenders and shrimp. The Cobb salad was impressive, the chicken tenders complemented everything that going on with it. Everyone loved the shrimp and crab cakes. Service: Great service, things started off slow when the hostess told us it a 30 minute wait and the restaurant was particularly empty (low staff). Nevertheless we were seated within 10-15 minutes. Ambiance: I love the decor and overall ambiance each no matter where you dine looks exactly the same outside with the fountains and patio seating also inside from the bar and dining areas.

I went to Pappadeaux for lunch for my birthday 7/28 and I was very disappointed! The inside is always stunning and clean but it doesn't make up for the service we had. 1st I went specifically for the alligator and that changed. It is a smaller portion I really only had about 10 pieces and the new sauce that comes with it doesn't match the taste of alligator in my opinion. I talk to my server about the size difference and he said I had the largest size they offer and made it a large for us but didn't ask if that was what I wanted. The service was super slow we were there from 1:15pm to around 3:45pm. We asked for napkins and never received them and then it took more than 15 mins to get the check. My food came out wrong I asked for blacked catfish with red beans and rice but then received my meal and it was fried fish that actually didn't have too much flavor so I had to send my food back. The highlight of my time there was the birthday dessert and I got the turtle brownie. Sadly I don't think I will be returning to Pappadeaux after this visit.

Second time here, my last was 5 years ago. Today we had an excellent server, Denzel, who was attentive without being intrusive, friendly and overall a great waiter. The three of us started with drinks, and had roasted. oysters for our appetizer. They were cheesy and delicious. We ordered the garlic bread which was sooo good: buttery, cheesy , crisp yet soft. We also had the house bread, warm and crispy and I could have ended the meal right there. I had the shrimp gumbo which was flavorful without being overwhelming or too spicy. It paired well with the bread. My husband had crawfish etouffee, a good sized portion served over rice , well seasoned and tasty. Our friend had the shrimp Alfredo, not too heavy as is typical with Alfredo dishes , but also delicious. We were not going to have any dessert as we were stuffed with leftovers to go, but we saw Denzel carrying a slice of key lime pie to the adjacent table and couldn't resist. It was light and creamy with a primarily graham cracker crust.....mmmmmm. Couldn't finish that, either. Once again, Denzel was outstanding which increased our overall enjoyment. Beautiful setting, clean and spacious although intimate at the same time.

    Pappadeaux Platter

If you're looking for a seafood feast that truly delivers, the Papadeaux platter from Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen is absolutely worth it. The portion size alone is impressive--this platter easily fed three people with food still left over, which makes it a great value for sharing. Everything came out hot, crispy, and packed with flavor. The fried shrimp were perfectly golden with a satisfying crunch, and the fish was tender and well-seasoned. The variety on the plate kept every bite interesting, and the dipping sauces complemented everything really well. Service-wise, the food did take a little longer to come out, but once it hit the table, it was clear why--everything tasted fresh and made to order. In this case, the wait was definitely worth it. Overall, this is the kind of meal you go out for when you want to indulge a little and leave full (with leftovers!). Highly recommend if you're dining with a group or just want to treat yourself to a hearty seafood spread.

We hadn't been to Pappadeaux in many, many years. The first thing I noticed was the interior hasn't changed a bit. This isn't necessarily a bad thing because it looks just like it did many, many years ago, i.e. just as clean with nothing feeling old or dated. We had reservations on a Thursday at 5 PM for six. Our waiter was kind and got everything off to a great start. He didn't make a lot of visits to the table after the food arrived, but he seemed to be there when we needed him. I can only speak to what Mark and I ate and it was delicious. I had the Seafood Tagliatelle Pasta. It was a LOT of food. The flavor was great and the octopus was definitely the star. It was the most plentiful pasta topping in the bowl and I was more than fine with that. It was tender and delicious. Mark had the Rib Eye. He ordered it medium rare. When it arrived, the waiter mentioned the kitchen had overcooked it and he was going to bring another. Before he left, Mark tried it and it seemed perfect. It looked medium rare to me. Mark loved it. Even though it's been years, I remember the food always being very good. I'm glad to see the taste of the food, like the decor, hasn't changed.

Picked a busy day to go here . (Valentines Day) buts always SO good! We waited for a few extra mins on our reservation and the doorway was very crowded. They need to upgrade this area to make it more comfortable for the people waiting to be seated. We ordered the gator bites and shrimp cocktail which were phenomenal! We usually get complementary bread but today we had to ask Nicholas for it. The service was a bit slow and time management was an issue for our waiter. Although he was very polite and apologetic about our appetizers coming to the table at the same time as our entrees. The manager came over and also apologized. Overall the food is always delicious, fresh and we will be back .

First time officially going to a Cajun style restaurant and what a great first impression. The restaurant is so neat inside and so cozy outside that just stepping on it you feel at the right place. The food is incredible, I had the classic catfish Po-boy and shrimp gumbo and both tasted amazing, well-seasoned, the bread was spectacular by the way and the gumbo was rich and tasty. The fried alligator was phenomenal, crispy and juicy and the sauce that came with was out of this world. My wife had the seafood skewer with rice and no complaints, super delicious rice. I'm coming back here next time I'm in Cincinnati.

Basically OVERPRICED and over spiced! The seafood was either drenched in butter or sauce which masked the flavor even though we told our waitress LIGHT SAUCE. Our server was fine but she offered us garlic bread without telling us it was extra. On top of that, the bread was overly spiced and when we complained, she brought out a loaf of plain bread but at least didn't charge us for it. The house chardonnay was a whopping $79 a bottle which jacked our bill to almost $200. We could have gotten a better meal at a first rate steakhouse for less. We won't be coming back here anytime soon.

Who doesn't love Pappadeaux's, I mean no one I know anyway. I had the opportunity to go while out with a friend. This place is always so upscale without being "upscale". Boasting it's beautiful decor throughout. We enjoyed appetizers and drinks at the bar and service was exceptional. Special shout out to Samantha ("Sam") for her hospitality and taking such great care of us. As well as Josh for constantly checking in to make sure we were ok. To order, we went with the Shrimp and Crawfish fondue (small)...note that the small comes with parmesan crostini, while the large comes with garlic bread. To drink, I selected the Swamp thing (small). The fondue was amazing and the Swamp thing, per usual was on point. Pappadeaux's is a great place for good food with a Cajun/Louisiana spin to it, always great vibes! Parking and seating is plentiful, however, if coming on a weekend it may be best to get there early or book your table via reservation. They also offer outdoor/patio, and party room seating. Prices can be considered a little expensive, but they do offer happy hour with pricing being a little cheaper, so budget accordingly. If you haven't already done so, check it out. Only one location in Cincinnati. You won't be disappointed. Enjoy!

Pappadeaux's has always been high up on my list of seafood restaurants to try due to all of the positive reviews I had heard from family members and friends. So, I was very surprised when we (my parents, daughter, and I) did not have the same positive experience that many of my other family members and friends had previously had. Service - Our service was extremely poor. Our server forgot about one of the appetizers we had ordered (oysters), she left empty dishes/plates on our table (from our appetizers and salads) that there was literally no room for our dinner plates when they arrived, and she never came back around for refills of our drinks until she handed us our bill. Food - Please see my reviews below. Garlic Bread - This was good! These were thick slices of toast coated in scampi style butter and oregano. Yum! Lobster Bisque - This was also good; however, I found a tiny piece of lobster shell in the bisque while I was eating it. The bisque is rich in flavor and has large chunks of lobster in it! So good! House Salad - This was your typical house salad. Pasta Mardi Gras - This was my dish and I couldn't even eat half of it - it was so salty! The sausage and shrimp were extremely overcooked as well! Seafood Pasta - This was my mom's dish. She enjoyed it, but agreed that her pasta was super salty as well. She enjoyed the octopus the most in her dish - she said that it was nice and tender! Texas Red Fish and Crab - This was my dad's dish. It seemed to be a healthier dish and was made into a smaller portion. There was very little crab as well. We ended up adding a baked potato to the dish so that it seemed a little more full. The baked potato was extra large in size. My dad said that he enjoyed his dish! I really liked the sauce to this dish too! Parmesan Buttered Noodles - This was my daughter's dish. She enjoyed them as she cleaned her plate! Our bill was $200 and I honestly do not feel that the food nor service were worth that cost! I am not sure that I would ever go back...sorry!

Family of 3, at 6pm for dinner on a Friday night…read more The exterior of the building is very unassuming. There is a sign on the outside of the building and a marquis by the street, but both seem to blend into the surrounding retail area of their location so it's kind of a hidden gem. Inside is open, well lit, and plenty of seating for small, and large parties. We arrived to a half-full restaurant as the Friday night dinner rush began. We were seated immediately. Our server came right over, introduced herself, and took drink orders and went over the menu with us, since it was out first time there. A appetizer order of Calamari also went in, with the drinks. Drinks: Pepsi products, and one iced tea. The tea was returned for a soft drink. (The missus is a bit of a tea snob, and she said it tasted like it was fountain, rather than fresh brewed) The Calamari came out within 10 minutes, with two servings of cocktail sauce for dipping. The breading was light, and crispy, and was a nice crunch on the Calamari. We ordered: Two "Cincy Combo's" of 1/2 lb crab legs & 1 lb peel & eat shrimp (head off & deveined) in garlic butter with mild spice. with an order of 5 fried oysters in addition, and a fried shrimp basket with fries & coleslaw. There were plenty of other kinds of seafood to choose from, for the combos if crab legs & shrimp aren't your thing. About 5 minutes later, our server returned with a shell bucket, nut crackers, tool hooks for splitting the legs open, forks, bibs, and two 14" empty pie tins. About 3 minutes after that, the food arrived..... OH MUH GAWD!! The combos come in plastic bags, which allow them to be boiled together in the same large pot, but keeps the sauces and spices separate to tailor the food to your preferences. In addition to the two types of seafood, you also get an ear of corn, and a couple of red potatoes with the combo. Fair Warning: You are cracking crab legs, and peeling shrimp over a pie tin full of melted butter. It's unavoidable, but you're going to get messy. They do provide bibs, but if you're planning on going here as a "first date", then I'd skip the jacket & tie to make a good first impression, because you're going to be taking it to the cleaners the next day, trust me..... The food was fantastic! Hot, fresh, and drowning in butter and spices. The fried basket had large butterfly shrimp, in crisp batter, over a bed of seasoned fries, and a small cup of coleslaw. Our only complaint, was that the slaw was *very* heavy with mayo, and seemed to overpower any other flavors that were in it. It was a small cup, but that was the only thing our table didn't finish. In record time, shells flying, juices & butter everywhere we finished our meals and left nothing behind. Our hands were literally covered butter, up to and beyond our wrists. Portion sizes were perfect, as although we could have eaten more, we left the table thoroughly satisfied. The carnage was so physical, that napkins & wet wipes only took the first layer of butter off our hands. As I was walking to the rest room to take a bath in the sink, I mentioned to the manager at the front that optical wet wipes for those guests with glasses would be a neat thing to have. He held up an index finger as if to say "hold on a sec", walked to the cabinet under the front desk, and grabbed a couple individual tear open packets of alcohol cleaning swabs, to clean the specks of drawn butter from my glasses. AWESOME service and quick thinking on his part. When I returned to the table, our server had delivered our check, and secured another round of beverages in to-go cups for the trip home. By the time we left, the entryway was filled with folks waiting for the next available table, and after eating there I can certainly understand why. All in all, with amazingly attentive staff, quick service, and delicious food; it was a wonderful dining experience. We will definitely be back!!

We are lively bunch so one downside to the room is that it did not have a door, it only had a curtain, so at times we were concerned we were disturbing others. Because of our party size appetizers were served family style. The spinach and artichoke dip is out of this world! I also enjoyed the chicken and the bread that was served. We kept the drinks flowing and I think everybody enjoyed their libations. The entrees were top quality, I opted to try a New York strip. I would have loved a little more wiggle room for accompaniments to my steak, but with us having the private room and the package we chose we were not able to do so. All in all we had a great experience, but I think I would prefer to come back with a smaller group versus the private party dining in the future. This is our 15th Book Club Christmas dinner so we have experienced private dining at multiple restaurants around the city and the process here was one of my least favorite. I tend to prefer when we are not limited to a prix fixe menu and can have some more variety to accommodate different palettes and budgets ( I wouldn't have minded spending a little more for some add-ons). I also prefer private rooms with doors so that we can be ourselves and not worry about disturbing others while we are being jovial and having a good time. That said the service was phenomenal. The wait staff was attentive, especially for a party our size and we were all greeted warmly when we arrived. Valet was a little backed up as another party exited when we did. My car was right up front by the door so I just asked for my keys and got it myself, it felt a bit silly to pay for that when they seemed so understaffed. I didn't try it, and honestly my little ppl were already full because of what I'm about to share next. Unsure if the toddler would like it, we fed the 3yo Wendy's chicken nuggets (it's in the same parking lot) before going in. While we were eating another couple came in with their little one in tow and a chick-fil-a bag...so maybe it's a thing to feed your children what they want so you can enjoy your experience in peace ‍ Either way, the staff seemed fine with them bringing food in. Lastly, about the staff being great: my 1yo upchucked before the food came, on herself and the highchair. They brought me paper towels to clean her up and then took away the dirty chair to clean and brought us a new one. I was all ready to clean that chair myself but they wouldn't let me. It was a kind gesture.

Venue: This place is huge. They turn it into a nightclub at times and in the day a restaurant…read more Ample amount of parking and plenty of seating inside. They were at an old location before, but the upgrade is way nicer. You can definitely come here with the family, kids, or by yourself. Prices: The price for the food can get expensive but the amount of food they give you is worth it. So definitely the price and food amount add up. Like my fav dish is the fried rice, and it's like 22$, but it feeds 2. Service- I think they could do a lot better with their service it takes them a while before the waiter will come around and refill your water, so not bad but not the best. Just whenever you get your waiter or waitress, make sure you give everything to them because you might not see them in a while. Food - the food here is amazing it tastes very fresh and very flavorful. From a 0 and spice level to 100 if you like, I love the variety of that. Like I said, my favorite food here is the fried rice with shrimp. I could eat this every day with the green pepper. I would have posted pictures, but I ate it before I could even think next time, LOL.

The staff was friendly and helpful with menu selection. I ordered a grit bowl with the toppings. I also got their favorite lemonade. My family also ordered from the menu. We all enjoyed what we ordered. It was a good experience as a first timer. I would go back and check out other items.

And the dirty gravy is very different- it's hard for me to put in words but it definitely tastes similar to your New Orleans style fish and grits. My only complaint about that meal was that there was not a lot of the dirty sauce. That's what makes the dirty catfish grits its meal so I wish there was more to offer in that regard. The dirty breakfast bowl was good with a proper amount of dirty gravy. My complaint here was that we ordered for the eggs to be scrambled but they fried the eggs. Not a big deal, but definitely check your carry out orders! The salmon croquettes were made very well. No complaints there. However, overall for this meal and the catfish grits- the grits almost taste like instant grits. But they do give you a whole lot of grits. The service was very friendly and welcoming. There's a couple of tables for seating but it's pretty much a carry out restaurant. I see the potential of how great the DirTy BreakfasT can/will be! I will try it again!
