Went directly from the trailhead to Overlook Mountain Bikes. The store was buzzing with customers but I was quickly welcomed and taken care of. The guys at Overlook were promptly able to diagnose and fix my issues. I fully expected to have to leave the bike and come back a week or two later, but I was able to take my new bike for its inaugural ride only a few hours later than scheduled. Although this shop is an hour away from where I live, I will be back for any bike related needs.

I biked it in the pouring rain, so I am not a good judge of how enjoyable it may, or may not be. On the northern section, where I rode (8 of the 13 miles), it is not particularly charming or pretty, which is not what I had hoped for, but instead, there are car salvage & repair yards & small manufacturing businesses on either side. There are a good number of trailheads where parking is available along the route. If you are looking for a fairly easy & straight ride, fairly shaded (especially helpful when you are riding in a downpour), this Rail Trail is for you.

If you're just paddling, I think 1 hour is enough but if you want to stop and play on the sandbar then 2 hours. Great time with a great business.

Then NOBO for a bit over 3 miles past an old abandoned outhouse (2-seater). Past William's Lake on the left, and past an area about 100' long where the temp suddenly drops a good 10 degrees. Weird, but it happens every time we walk past this area. Must be an aura or vortex. At the 18 mile mark (there are posts marked every half-mile), a lunch break. Sal, Kris and Charlie's deli hero. Best of the best. HC brought the brandy, but forgot to decant it. WVRT is absolutely beautiful. Cinder surface. Very gentle terrain. The part north of Rosendale is lightly trafficked. Bring fluids, and please practice Leave No Trace principles. 5 stars

I hit this trail up for an early morning hike and it was such a solid way to start the day. I…read morestarted from the southernmost point and walked about 2.5 miles north to the Gardiner Library. FYI, that southern start point has zero parking, so you're better off finding a spot near the Gardiner Library and going from there--it'll give you options for heading north or south. The path itself is wide and super chill. It was covered in leaves when I went, which was pretty, with big trees lining both sides. You can actually see some beautiful houses tucked in beyond the trees, which was a fun little treat as you walk. Heads up, though, it's not all nature; you do cross some streets, so stay aware of traffic. This thing is huge--the entire trail is over 20 miles and connects a bunch of towns like Wallkill, Gardiner, and New Paltz. It's a true multi-use path for walkers, runners, cyclists, and equestrians (no motorized vehicles, thank goodness). Quick tips for hitting the trail: Parking: Skip the southern end. Park around the Gardiner Library area; it's the smarter move. The Path: Remember, this is a linear trail, not a loop, so be ready to turn around and backtrack or arrange a ride back! Weather: If it's sunny out, you're set. It's an easy, flat walk. If you're looking for a relaxing, easy walk or ride with some nice scenery and want to knock out a few miles, this trail is a winner. Great for a Saturday morning coffee walk!

The price was a little steep, but I didn't mind because their docking prices are so reasonable. I dropped the boat off with them to get the hull primed and painted on a 19' boat (including jacking it up off the trailer). The price was $1000. The job was done in just under 2 weeks, which was a decent turn-around time considering the weather was rainy and they had lots of other boats to work on. The paint job was outstanding - they were able to figure out where the waterline began, which is difficult to do because I keep the hull clean. Upon picking up the boat, they took their time to explain how bottom paint works and how to maintain it at the end of the season. The employees here are all patient, friendly and helpful. I'm looking forward to keeping my boat here again in the 2017 season.

Here and there she tells me what she has this available or asking questions about my boyfriend and I (height, weight and etc.) or if I can do this day or that day. Yet when I reply within that second, i won't hear back until 2 weeks later. BY THEN those days that we "settled" on already past!! Days goes by then weeks then I'm looking at months going by!! . Reserving the date on the website was a breeze; however, cancelling and rebooking another date was a nightmare!!!! No one would answer the phone or email in a timely matter. We emailed them to change from Sat 10am to Sun 10am; a few days would go by before someone wrote back to say "Sun 10am is booked, what about 2pm?" I replied "OK" immediately. Then a week goes by and finally someone replied, "Sorry Sun 2pm is booked, how about another day?" By the time they replied, the slots were already booked. It was ridiculous! 2 - Day of Ride - Helen, the owner?, called us at 7am and told us that the trails were closed, because of the heavy rain the night before. I was offered to either to reschedule or ride the arena. There is no way I am going to reschedule, so we went. We arrived 45 min early just to check out the farm. There were 4-5 staff there; all young college-like ladies, plus 1-2 older women. The farm was open, with cats and chickens roaming freely around. We signed the waiver form, grabbed our helmets (gross, small and dirty!), and mounted our horses. 3 - Horseback Riding - Our horses name were Aurora, Jupiter, Levi, and Lakota. The 4 horses trotted in a line; 2 staff were walking and leading the first 2 smaller horses my daughters rode. For an hour, we rode around the outdoor arena, and up and down the driveway path twice. My 10 year old daughter said "We were not really controlling the horse that much. It was boring, because part of fun was to learn and control your own horse the way you want, but that did not happened." They did not offer any riding lessons or stories of the horses or rescue facility. No hot cocoa either.

Coming into the parking lot requires caution, because the driveway is narrow, only fitting one car at a time. Getting in, there are plenty of parking spots to park at. Take note, on Sundays from 8am to 2pm, the inner parking lot is blocked off due to a Farmers Market, which makes the lot busy and packed. There are a number of trails to choose from, which takes place further inside the park. We only did two trails, the green, and yellow, doing a complete loop including a summit lookout, with a wonderful view looking south, overlooking the Rosendale Trestle, which is the Walkill Valley Rail Trail. The trail which we took is steep, containing a lot of rocks and some tree stumps. The other trails will be explored in the future. Overall, a great trail and park to visit.
