First I will start by saying that I'm very picky and hate to shop. Bad combo, I know. When I first began planning my wedding, I knew I was going to be in a bind since I knew that trying on a million and one dresses was not going to be the thing for me. I knew exactly what I wanted, I just had to find it. After scouring every website imaginable, I found the dress I wanted-with a few minor changes. I tried to call the dress maker and change the things I didn't like, but they wouldn't make a dress with the changes I was requesting. After more internet searching, I found a website for a woman who makes wedding dresses. I called her, and the rest is wonderful history. I met with Rose and showed her the dress I wanted, and explained to her what I wanted changed. Without hesitation, she said she could do it. She went over every detail to make sure she was 100% sure that we were on the same page, and she even made suggestions to make it better; afterwards I was able to choose the exact material and lace that I wanted. Over the next 8 months I went in for multiple fittings, to make sure it would fit perfectly, and finally received my dress a few weeks before my wedding. My wedding dress was incredibly beautiful and fit me like a glove. Rose was able to replicate the exact dress I wanted, and make it spectacular! I can't urge anyone enough to go see Rose at Cinderella's Closet-you won't be disappointed. read more

I tried on over 200 dresses but could not find THE one I loved. One dress came close and it was more than $4,000... there was no way I would pay that much for the dress. I told Rose exactly what I wanted and she drew this beautiful sketch of me in my dress. Fitting and measuring process went seamlessly and she patiently honored all my requests. When I watch TLC's 'Say Yes to the Dress,' I am amazed at how women pick out a dress after trying on 5 dresses AND willing to pay thousands of dollars on average dresses like those.. Do yourself a favor; spend a fraction of cookie cutter dresses and make one of a kind (all silk) with Rose. You would be crazy not to. I still remember the first time I saw my dress (almost teared up), and till this day my dress is the most beautiful one ever and so was I on my wedding day! :) I am sure you will be too. read more

I got married in August, and had a fairly short engagement. I knew exactly what I wanted in a dress, but the Monique Lhilier dress was $6000! I heard about Rose, and I was so impressed with her work. It was amazing that she was able to do the dress in less than 4 months. It turned out beautifully. She was always prompt, and really listened to my requests. She found the PERFECT lace (that was the one thing I was nervous about before I went to her), and the dress fit amazingly well. She is so talented, and I would definitely reccommend her for weddings! I wish I would have had time to make the bridesmaid dresses as well. She is so funny, and really cares about what she is doing. The only thing that was a little difficult is that I couldnt try the actual dress on until a week before the wedding. It was mostly my fault, as I gave her such a short period of time to complete the dress, but I will admit I was nervous until I saw it on. I would recommend that you start this process at least 6 mos in advance so you can see the dress on a little sooner. The only reason she is not 5 stars for me was location. I live downtown, and she was up in Carlsbad, so I had a long drive to see her. read more

It looked like a $6,000 all lace gown with beautiful detailing and I know she paid $1,400 for it. One of my favorites from the 24 weddings I was a part of in 2011. Rose was extremely patient and very realistic when it came to explaining my dream wedding and dress. She showed a lot of enthusiasm and cared about my opinions. You can tell that she has a lot of experience in what she does just by her cliental and when explaining my dress to her she knew exactly who the designer was. I'm still deciding on my wedding but she is definitely someone I would recommend for any custom wedding dresses. I don't think there is anything she can't do. read more

I came to Cinderellas Closet two months before my wedding becauses I could not find any dress that I liked anywhere. Not knowing her work or anything about Cinderellas Closet I trusted Rose in making my dress. Got it two weeks before my wedding. It was exactly my DREAM DRESS!!! SHE IS AMAZING! The satin silk material, the gorgeous lace and the swarowski crystals she used on my dress were all top of the line quality and she worked with my budget.. I highly recommed her to all brides. First thing first.. Rose is amazing. I came to Rose to create a very difficult 1930's Ginger Rogers dress featured in the movie Swing Time. She made me feel confident that she would perfect it, and she did. I have seen a few ladies complain about how Rose waits till only a few months before the delivery date to start the whole process, but hey, do you want your dress to fit or not?! The need to understand that many brides will either gain tons of weight or lose a tons of weight a month or so before the big day. Rose is an experienced designer and knows what she is doing. I went to pick my dress up a week before the reception and found that we needed to do a few adjustments. I stayed calm and put my trust in Rose to fix my dress. Only a few days later my dress was on and fit like a glove; perfection! Rose is a perfectionist. She has you sign off on everything during the process of the dress making, so if something goes wrong, you can only blame yourself. Let Rose know exactly what you want for your dress and the price you can afford, and Rose will make it happen. Just put a little faith in her and be patient and everything will be GREAT! I have to start by saying that I liked my dress, but the reason I gave this place a 2 star is because the dress was not what I had paid for. I had an exact picture of the dress I wanted and found out about this place. When I called Rose she spent hours on the phone explaining how their focus is customer satisfaction. I went into her office, we discussed the exact design and price. I had a specific type of lace picked out that she didn't have, so I gave her a number to a French lace vendor in LA. Because of the materials involved (French lace), and the amount of lace requested for the dress, she charged me a fortune for the dress, plus another fortune for the mantilla (which was to be lined with the same french lace). She also said she would include beads in the dress (if she had time) and a blusher, and a corset in the dress (which I asked for). Then she had me sign a paper and pay the full price in advance. I was not at ease paying the full price, but this was the only option s I trusted her. As soon as we started the procedure after the payment, it was no longer about me, but rather about her. We scheduled our first appointment to come in and get measurents. I found out the lace she had ordered for my dress was a different lace than I requested, and also, she ordered 7 yards instead of the 11 yards that was 1) agreed upon and 2) paid for. She said that she ordered the different lace because the one I requested was no longer available. Considering I was really picky about the lace, and I had spent countless hours picking the perfect one, and considering this was MY wedding dress, which I had paid a fortune for, I would have thought that she'd be professional enough to have called me BEFORE ordering the lace and have ME pick an alternate option. She called to reschedule our second aptmt. Mind you, she wouldn't re-schedule my aptmt until a MONTH before the wedding. This means that she wouldnt start making the dress until less than a month before the wedding. According to her, she's had problems with brides gaining and losing weight so she wants the most accurate weight possible, but I was worried we wouldnt have time to finish the dress. She assured me she would, and I had already paid so I truested her. So I went in and we took exact measurements. I was then suprised with the news that she was NOT planning making me a mantilla. I reminded her that she had charged me $500 for it, she was not too happy but said she would do it with whatever lace she had in stock (not the lace I had ordered and paid for!!). The lace she had was far less expensive than the one she ordered for me, therefore I shouldn't have had to pay $500 for the mantilla. Also, she made it sound like she was doing me a favor. She also made me sign a paper saying I would not gain or lose any weight before the wedding because she would do no adjusment alterations. We scheduled the first fitting 2 weeks before the wedding. She only had the basics of the dress ready. According to her, it would take her only 1 week to sew on the lace so she would have the final dress and fitting ready 1 week before the wedding. We needed the dress by then, because she said she would not have time to add all the crystals we wanted, so she was going to give us extra crystals so we could add them ourselves. Well this didn't happen either. I ended up in her studio 2 days before my wedding trying on the "finished" the dress for the first time, with no time for atlerations. Good thing the dress was only a little lose, so she did adjust the fit to my size. 1) The Mantilla did not have the shape I asked for (I wanted a round one, she made it oval). 2) There was NO corset in the dress (she said it would include one). 3) She did not put buttons in the back of the dress like she said she would (she put an invisable zipper instead), I had to ask her to PLEASE add at least some buttons, she said OK. 4) The amount of lace on the dress was far less than discussed initially. I asked her to put more, she said she ran out, so I asked her to add some of her own lace in stock (different pattern, but whatever) 5) The lace pattern that was to be put in the back was inverted. She said she thought it looked better this way but she should have asked me first. The original pattern was inspired by a dress I had seen and was the most in important thing for me in this dress. 6) she didn't add enough crystals, and we had no time to add more. 7) The neckline of the dress was not a real sweetheart (which I really wanted). She, of course, shook off any blame. The final dress had to be picked up by my brother the day before the wedding with whatever alteration was made. Oh, and on the day of the wedding-NO blusher. in short I liked the dress but not what I paid and planned for. Also, the procedure was too stressful for me. One should not have to go through so much stress for a dream dress and feel like you didn't get what u paid for. read more

My experience with Rose at Cinderella's Closet was a nightmare. Let's just say, I saw my dress for the VERY FIRST TIME four days before my wedding. This is after she promised fittings that never happened and a dress at least a month before the wedding. Not only was the dress late... it had all sorts of problems, and it didn't even fit. I was DEVASTATED. With four days left, I had to take it to an emergency alterations person who was able to make some of the changes, but not all. If you value your pre-wedding sanity... don't hire this woman to make your dress. read more

Horrible! My experience with Cinderella's Closet was horrible. My dress was delivered late with no time to fix what was wrong with it! Many features of the dress (like the train and the finishing on the neckline were not as I requested). The dress did not fit properly. Rose was often 30-45 min late for my fitting appointments - leaving me standing out on the street waiting for her to show up! The dress was silk with allover lace. I requested that all of the lace be lined with the silk (i.e. no areas of the dress that were just lace with no silk underneath). My finished dress had a lace only train with no underlying silk. I also was told that the pattern of the dress would be cut so that the selvages of the lace (the finished lace edges on the edges of fabric off the bolt) would form the edges of the neckline and form one continuous piece of lace. This is more expensive, because it limits where the dress pieces can be cut from a length of fabric. My finished dress was cut from lace that was not on the selvage and scrap pieces of lace edging was sewn onto the neckline. Not only did this disrupt the pattern of the lace, but it gave the neckline area a "double layer" of lace that looked darker than the rest of the dress! In some areas of the dress (like the arm holes) the edges of the double layer of sewn on lace stuck out to far. While I was getting dressed for the wedding I had to pin down the lace (with straight pins that poked me all night!). I really did not expect to be doing make-shift alterations myself on my wedding day with straight pins on a custom made dress! We discussed having a French bustle on the train. I was told there would be three "tie-up locations" for the bustle. Rose said that these would be sewn into the seam lines of the dress, to that the weight of the train was supported and would not pull and pucker the material. On the finished dress there was one single eye-hook (attached to the overlay lace of the dress only!) to clip up the train. Certainly not a French bustle. The eye-hook was not placed in the right position - it was too low. More than a foot of fabric trailed on the ground and made it difficult for me to dance. In fact, in all my dancing photographs I have one of my hands with a big handful of dress because I had to hold it up to keep from tripping on it. The dress did not fit properly. The neckline gapped open, the dress was too loose around the waist (and trust me - I didn't loose any weight), and the length was too long. I didn't think I need to say more about this issue SINCE THIS WAS A CUSTOM DRESS! Rose was horrible to work with. She was significantly late to more than half of my appointments. Once she was 30 min late and the other time she was 45 min late. Also, she never even bothered to call me in advance to let me know she was running late. She did call - but at the appointment time (so I was already standing outside her office) to say that she'd be there in half an hour or so. This was very frustrating because the only time she had to schedule appointments was Tuesday morning - so I had to take time off of work. All in all it was a horrible experience and I had to try really, really hard (lots of positive thinking!) to let this not ruin my wedding day. I have never written a negative review about a service or a person before, but I don't want you all to go through the same thing. read more

Rose designed the most amazing dress and veil for my wedding! I found a designer dress I loved, but unfortunately it was way over my budget. I took photos of the dress to Rose and she created something even better--the fabrics, colors and shape of the final dress fit my style and personality perfectly. Rose definitely knows what she is doing and creates beautiful, stunning dresses to compliment every body type. She's very personable and makes creating a custom dress so much fun! Well, I can't imagine Rose having an unhappy bride. So, the negative review is honestly shocking to read. I went to Rose for my July 2009 wedding and I could not be happier! From the first phone call (where she spent about 30 minutes discussing the process and how she could help me incorporate my ideas into a design) she was fantastic. She made the most beautiful dress I ever could have worn, and did not go a penny over our budget! She incorporated everything I asked and made such a gorgeous dress. Comments from my friends included: "You looked like the perfect bride from Vogue in that dress. Honestly, it looks like a $100,000 + couture dress." And believe me, it did, for a tiny fraction of the cost. Rose uses only the best fabrics and will help you find the right one for your dress, design, event, and body. Believe me when I say no one can make a more flattering dress for your figure than Rose. She did pageant work for several years and she knows how to make you look good. Rose accommodated my schedule and was very clear about how she runs production. I am an avid planner, and need to have my boxes crossed off to be calm. However, knowing I would not receive my dress until the month of my wedding was strangely calming. Something about Rose and her detailed explanations had me completely at ease with the situation. Go to Rose. She will take great care of you and will be very up front about how things work. Accept it, because it is bridal. It is hectic, your weight will be changing, and life will be crazy. But I promise you, Rose will have a dress on your body for your wedding day; and it will be a gorgeous dress. Oh, by the way, she just won FIRST PLACE in the 2009 "Best Of" for Best Wedding Dresses. This woman competed against huge bridal stores with vastly more resources, and kicked butt! Why? Because she takes amazing care of her brides and wants to ensure their happiness. read more

Rose is nice-- I will say that. However, I was incredibly disappointed in my dress. I did not have a wedding dress made, I had something made for a special occasion-- I needed it to match my daughter's dress. I brought Rose my daughter's dress to compare, she assured me she could make it. It was not the same, but worst of all, it was way too tight. Unwearable, basically. Rose tried to say it was because I had gained weight, but my fitting was on Monday and the dress delivered Fri. No way-- and I HADN"T gained weight. And (this was a year or so ago)-- I also have lost nearly 10 pounds since then and I STILL can't fit into the dress. It was just made far too small, and it didn't look the way I had hoped. My daughter's dress was a cute shift-style, Rose insisted on doing something very fitted though I asked her repeatedly not to make it form-fitting, I wanted lose and comfortable. read more

HORRIBLE! This was one of the worst experiences that no woman should ever have to go though especially while dealing with the stress of planning a wedding. Went to rose with tons of photos of the dress i wanted to create. it was stated in the contract and also by her that there would be 3 fittings, and at the 3rd one you would have your dress. i had 4 fittings and still on the 4th one my dress wasn't completed, so i had to go for a final 5th. I stated i wanted my dress at least 6 weeks before my wedding just to make sure i was getting what i paid for. Rose stated she was heavily against that but would try her best. After everything, i now know why she wanted to give me my dress 2 weeks before my wedding! I signed off on all the materials to make my dress. Rose stated she could get the specific material that i had signed for. When i went for my fitting she had different lace than what was agreed upon. she had 10 months to get me my dress 6 weeks before my wedding date and still couldn't manage to do so. i paid over 3,000 for my dress and had to take it to a seamstress who was a GOD send who i paid over $400 to fix my mess of a dress! When i took it to my seamstress to make my dress look professional she examined the dress; what she found was shocking to not only myself but her as well. the lace on my dress that rose had put on was glued not stitched, which you would expect from someone promising couture dresses. In regards to what you want, rose will have an alternative idea for everything you have in mind. She was pushy and didn't do what i wanted at all. I wanted my dress to not show my shoes and she stated she would fix the hem which was 2" too short, by my 5th fitting with her, my dress still was too short. i was so over dealing with it i took the dress as it was 3 weeks before my wedding to someone profession. it was apparent rose over booked her self and made more of an effort on dresses that were more expense. You would think a 3,000 + dress would get you the service you are paying for... I guess not! read more
