All right again this is just at the time I was there. So I was out and about with a friend of mine and he wanted to stop by this place to get some bbq. Well I do like a good bbq. So we stopped by this little food truck parked in a little spot just as you start to come into the town of Monmouth. Have to say the two gentlemen who run this place are two of the nicest people I've met in a long time. So I was told that there will be a picnic table coming. But don't let that stop you for stopping by. The service was great and the service is very fast. Now for the food. A unique flavor as I was told by the cook that it's his mother's recipe with a little change from the cook. So I had their pulled pork which is amazingly tender and juicy. I also had a sample of some very tender bbq ribs. The other good add on was their Mack and cheese. You can add and mix what ever you feel like eating. I have to say the two times I was there they were busy. People do like it. The portions are pretty good I have to say. So if you're in the Monmouth area and you're hankering for some good bbq and sides and two nice guys, make a stop. read more

I had been having a rough day at work and all that stress washed away. That was downright one of the greatest sandwiches ever created. Always check their Facebook page so you know when they are open. Had lunch here today with the family. Had the brisket and ribs combo with potato salad and Mac n cheese. It came with Texas toast. The Ribs were just ok to be nice. The Brisket was horrible. It tasted like it was used to clean it inside of the smoker. The sides were actually good and good portions. We also ordered a combo plate with pulled pork and chopped brisket. Again had better pulled pork from Walmart deli and the brisket was gross. The two sides were bbq beans and coleslaw. The bbq beans were under cooked and the coleslaw was not up to par by any means. Spent $60 and will never go back. I will drive an hour for barbecue that is actually delicious. read more

Went to Cindy Lou's for BBQ. Good news, they had a really busy day, so they were out of some stuff. Good to see local places do well. We order the beef brisket strips with side of mac n cheese, and jalapeno rice. By far, this is better than any bbq restaurant in my hometown (outside of Oregon.) The brisket was juicy and had a great smokey flavor. The bbq sauce is really good, we didn't use it because the brisket didn't need it. I can't say anything negative about Cindy Lou's. I had the Mac Daddy and was told it would be a 10-15 minute wait. It was definitely worth the wait. When picking up my order I was told that I was even given extra mac and cheese for the wait. I didn't mind waiting considering the location is very nice. It was a chilly and rainy day so my partner and I waited in our warm car. Cindy Lou's Barbecue provides outdoor seating, so on a sunny day it would be very comfortable. My sandwich was very hot and delicious. The mac and cheese filling was very good. I wasn't sure how good it was going to be combined with the bbq but it proved to be a lovely combination. These folks have moved again to 3539 Commercial St. SE and are located at the west end of the commercial buildings dominated by Ink Daddy's Tattooing. For easiest parking, drive through the chain link gate with the alternating green and white privacy strips. They have a new truck, which is more efficient for catering. There is some basic outdoor seating which will doubtless be expanded. A much quieter location, more agreeable for lingering. Scot and I love BBQ. But we have had a lot of bad BBQ. That will NOT be the case if you go with Cindy Lou's. OMG, the brisket and pulled pork was melt-in-your-mouth. Wonderful flavor, without being overpoweringly smokey. Nice pink smoke rings, moist... I'm so NOT hungry right now but just writing about it is making my mouth water. And the mac!? VERY yummy. I love mac n cheese and appreciated the tender pasta, the good mix of taste/texture in the cheeses and the creamy texture. The best approach is to fork your meat, pile on a bit of mac, then dip that in the sauce for an amazing bite of goodness. Service was fast and friendly, too. I really enjoyed my experience at Cindy Lou's BBQ. The real winners at this cart are the sides. Absolutely incredible flavor on every side I tried. I also had the brisket, and as I do, I ordered it with the sauce on the side. The slices were nice and thick and the brisket was well trimmed. However, it was very dry. I then tried to moisten it up with the sauce, but I did not care for the flavor of the sauce. It was very heavy on chili powder, which dominated the flavor of the meat. Oh my gosh, where to begin! My organization recently hired Cindy Lou's to cater an event we were holding, and it's probably one of the best decisions we made that whole week. The food provide was incredible (chef's kiss)! And, it was plentiful! No one walked away from that dinner hungry. I had the brisket, which was the most phenomenal brisket I've ever had (our other menu option we chose was the pulled pork, and I wish I had tried it too!). I also had their potato salad and macaroni and cheese. It's been a long time since I've had mac and cheese that didn't come out of a blue box, so this was a delight! I could have had a whole plate of just this! Oh, and I didn't mention the BBQ sauce! I don't normally like sauces. They are sweet and just a thick mess I don't want to deal with. Not Cindy Lou's! I don't even know how to describe it, other than perfection! I also very much appreciated that they were able to offer a menu option to the small group of vegetarians we had in the group. We tried Cindy Lou's for the first time and it was great. The pulled pork was smoky and tender and the chopped brisket had a lot of flavor too. I'm really rather surprised about all the 4 and 5 star reviews. I've tried Cindy Lou's twice, and to quote a friend, "The juice just 'aint worth the squeeze." The BBQ itself isn't bad, but the portions, for the price, are minuscule. At my last visit, I had the pulled pork bowl, thinking I'd get more meat than would come on a sandwich. But alas, no. For $8 you get an icing of pulled pork atop a pile of cabbage..err coleslaw in a small paper cereal bowl. I was expecting roughly twice the portion I got. Pricing is also confusing. Their sandwiches are the same price (and seem to be the same portions) as the bowls but come with the bonus addition of a bun. Full meals, which include a quarter pound of meat (admittedly barely a snack, but much more than you get on a sandwich or a bowl), plus TWO sides and a piece of toast, are only $3 more than their tiny bowls and sandwiches. But at $11, it's still not something I'd seek out from a food truck. read more

Very good pulled pork! Visited last Saturday with the daughter. Was getting a stereo put in the van and had an hour or so to kill. We walked down to this place. Its an unassuming little food cart, but the guys were really friendly. This was around 3 PM and they were already out of the brisket. But i judge good BBQ on the pulled pork. Getting pulled pork right is the sign of skilled BBQers. Their pulled pork was just right, not too mushy, still moist and not stringy. Excellent. I just realized I haven't written a review for Cindy Lou's, but I've been a customer since the first truck. It was amazing and I love their Texas toast with cheese. Their baked beans and Mac is delicious. I always loved your brisket. After going for about a year something happened. The food had more fat and prices went way up. It was more careless, but I know they were really busy and had different staff working on those days. I honestly quit going for about two years give or take a few months. I finally went back three months ago. It was a lot more of what I remember when they first opened. The brisket was made with love. The guys were fun to talk to and were kind. The prices went down a little from the peak prices and are more reasonable. You get a ton of food. I will continue to come back and I introduced a tons of friends to your food. Thank you guys! I'm really glad I went back and I love your location behind ink daddy's. My daughter is autistic and doesn't eat much, but she will eat a whole plate of your brisket to herself with the Mac.
