We were at the Marion County Fair and decided to try the tri tip sandwich and a side of coleslaw. I had not had Adam's Rib since first moving up to Salem area almost 20 years ago. The Cole slaw was quite good . It was sweet and had very light mayo which is perfect for the summer and serving outdoors , as we all know how easily mayo can be a source of food borne illness . So I give an "A" for the Cole slaw . The sandwich had a generous portion of meat and the bun tasted fresh . The meat however didn't have a lot of flavor , as in smoke or burnt edges barbecue , tasted like it was in a steam box , it was moist though . This place has been around for awhile now. Centrally located which is nice. Came here on a Friday early afternoon. Not busy at all. Got myself a pulled pork sandwich which came with a side of my choice and also got a full rack of pork ribs which came with two sides.I asked them for all there bbq sauces because I love the variety of sauces they have compared to other bbq spots locally. Yes I know the meat is supposed to be the star. For my sides I chose coleslaw Poquito bean and there red potato salad. All three sides were actually pretty good. My sandwich came with coleslaw on it as well. It wasn't bad. Especially with all the bbq sauces. It helps moisten it up a bit because the pulled pork was unfortunately a little dry. They have a seasonal bbq sauce which was marionberry based. It was tasty. My ribs weren't the best. The end pieces were nothing but fat. So maybe it wasn't trimmed properly but the next piece was good. I like that they still have a bite to it but tender enough you can pull it off the bone. This may not be a bbq destination. Finally made it to Adam's Rib with a couple friends for dinner. So many items to choose from at prices that don't break the bank. I tried the pulled pork and tritip, corn salad, mac and cheese and corn muffin. My favorite was the pulled pork which was very tasty. Also fun to try several of their sauces. Hubby got the pork ribs which easily came off the bone with great flavor. Generous portions. Friendly service and relaxing inside/outside dining. We'll be a repeat customer for sure. read more

This places is the best bbq in the Salem/Portland area. With the amount of sides and items on the menu and the prices being very affordable. I legit go here almost every week to get the brisket plate for $19. They have gumbo and fish and lots of meats even a kids menu so you will definitely find something here for the whole family. read more

It's been a while since I've been here and oh, how I missed it. In my opinion, they have the best value meal, the "low carb" plate. I'm sure it's over half a pound of meat with a side. (Hint: the side doesn't have to be low carb). The sandwiches are served on really nice buns, so you'll have to decide what's more important to you. While I was a bigger fan of their North Salem location which is now closed, the downtown location isn't bad, some people would say it's rustic decor is a big plus. The wife went for her favorite, BBQ ham, I went for the brisket and our friend went for the pulled pork. We were all will satisfied. To finish our lunch off, we shared a slice of the tallest apple pie that I've seen. A to-go box for the leftovers and we were good to go. Maia Spicy Shoyu Ramen is the spiciest ramen on the menu. Good flavor and spiciness - not overly spicy. All the ramens have more or less the same ingredients, with the difference being the type of broth. Eating ramen is kind of like trying to eat spaghetti with only a spoon. Luckily a server saw me struggling to cut the larger ingredients and noodles with the spoon and brought me a plastic knife, which made eating more pleasurable. Corn seems like an odd ingredient in a Japanese dish, but it's a main part of all their ramens. Restaurant looks very clean and inviting, and the staff was pleasant. read more

We went to lunch at Adam's Ribs today. After reading the reviews, we had high expectations. However things didn't go as planned... My husband ordered the chopped brisket. It was lukewarm and very greasy. I ordered the beef ribs. They also were lukewarm and tuff. The meat was hard and dried out as if they had been smoked days ago. The baked potato was not completely cooked through. We found that we totally wasted $45 for an inedible meal. Everything went in the trash. I really wanted to like this place. Husband ate from there last year...and liked them. I wanted hushpuppies because I have eaten them from a soul food restaurant before. When I got them home and looked at them, they were burnt to a crisp. I bit into one anyway, and it was definitely burnt. I thought maybe I'm trippin' so I googled hushpuppies and they are supposed to be golden brown. Mine were definitely black (see photo). They gave me 3 and all went in the garbage. I liked the potato salad. Ribs were a bit tough, almost like leather. Husband liked them, not me. I did like the pulled pork and the cheddar mashers. Will I be back? Not unless I get a gift card, since husband likes them. I personally won't buy from there for myself. Hushpuppies seriously turned me off...like seriously, you would send burned food off to someone? Staying overnite at a local hotel at the end of a four day roadtrip thru Southern Oregon. Had enough burgers and fast food the previous three days so I found this place for dinner in yelp. Some of the reviews were good, so what the .... Let me say, I am a BBQ snob having grown up most of my life in Alabama, Arkansas, Texas, and Tennessee, so my standards are high...but this was not good BBQ. I had the ribs and they were as tough as a pair of worn out boots. The sides were OK, but that is about it. For all the world it looks like a BBQ joint in Memphis, but it isn't. Wasn't expecting to see most of the staff wearing hats. For warmth, I take it. Cuz this place was cooollllddd. Which made it not so great to eat there. The three meats: chicken, por and brisket were excellent-would like to have them cut in smaller chunks but the flavor was amazing The beans were excellent the coleslaw was one of the best ever-some are so dry and this one is just right. The times we ate here we were not disappointed with anything we had. The St. Louis ribs were very meaty, tender and was pull off the bone good! The tri-tip, the beef ribs and the brisket all very flavorful, tender and juicy. And for the kids, the riblet plate is my son's favorite here. They have a variety of sauces and I like the bourbon while my husband likes the original. A lot of side choices. My favorite is the corn bread and my husband likes the cheesy garlic mash. The review World cracks me up.. I had tried Adam's Rib Smoke House about a year or less ago and forgot to review... So I hit it again, I phoned in my order to a guy that wasn't super opinionated about the menu, and that's ok because I get my usual rack of Ribs, and pound of brisket-- this time I added Smoked Salmon, that was absolutely fantastic (I like sushi so I tend to make mine more rare in the center but if they did that, I think they'd loose some smoke flavor..so really it's perfect with eggs and bacon on a sandwich the next morning) also, Beef Ribs, I've had some monster beef ribs and some that fail to impress.. these are a great balance of size, flavor but best of all, a tremendous Value (buy the Rack, especially if you're a leftover magician like me) another Do Not Miss is the brisket Holy Smokes (see what I did there) mine had been mechanically separated (by a hand and a fork) it's fine like it is BUT find their hot BBQ sauce and mix it in.. add cabbage and bread and butter chips for a Rockin BBQ sandwich the entire package lasted me days another thing that I couldn't stop thinking about for a few days was the incredibly cute girl that helped me .. great service, asked the right questions and was cuter than most Salem-ites and probably most Portlandians .. Got a side of beans which were good but it was obviously over rated and over cooked. Really was huge disappointment as it smelled really good. We had Adam's Rib cater an event in the summer and I had no idea what I was going to eat, but my nose told me it was going to be fabulous! You see them setting up and you want to be first in line but you don't want to be too eager, and finally it's time. When we get closer to the buffet line of this outdoor bbq picnic dinner, you can hear "oh wow!" and "ooh, no way, we get to eat that too?" and "i didn't see that! I better go back through and get some!". They easily handled a party of 40-50 at this event and many went back up for seconds though I felt that was impossible (for me) for the full portion offered.
