This place is AMAZING! Cindy is absolutely wonderful and the zoo is a haven for animals! They are so loved and well taken care of. It was such an amazing experience for my daughter's 4th birthday. I cannot thank Cindy and Tony enough for a perfect day (even though it rained for a bit. Loll

My kids (3 boys; ages 10,7,5) has the opportunity to see this mobile petting zoo during our 4th of July stay at The Grand Hyatt Manchester in San Diego 2021. They had multiple assistants. They had hand sanitizers being provided before and after you enter. It was also set up close to the restroom so you have easy access to handwashing. They had a timer for each small group that enters the little petting zoo they had set up. Once my kids got in. It was just a joy to see their eyes light up to be up close with these gentle animals. It even very therapeutic. My other kid is very scared of dogs. They did have a dog as part of the petting zoo. I think he was a Shepard dog (I'm not good at knowing breeds), but they were so accomodating that they temporarily removed the dog to allow my kid to enjoy the other farm animals. What a treat they had! The owner Cindy was there as well. She does birthday parties and events too. The animals she had there was so well taken care of and unique. My favorite were the the cute chickens with the special hair styles. They even had a cute mini pony! If you ever have an opportunity to see her petting zoo or hire them privately, it will be such a treat for the kids but for the adults too!

Our souls are full after visiting Cindy and her family. She and her husband have so many friendly animals and made the experience so nice for our family and friends.

We had a community event and were doubtful that it would work so last minute but Cindy was super helpful and helped us book two days before the event. The petting zoo was a huge hit!! Everyone loved it. Even the adults and little babies! All the animals were very friendly and cute. All in all great service. Thank you Cindy!!

Bunnies!

My daughter and I loved our farm visit. Completely worth the drive and money. We got to interact with alpacas, mini horse, a sweet dog, bunnies, chicks, hens, turkeys, sheep, pigs and more. Cindy was so sweet and welcoming. My daughter is still working on her fear of animals and Cindy was patient and helped her stay calm. All the animals were friendly and I had zero issues.

Cindy and her husband were a total hit at my daughters birthday party. They not only brought the cutest and most amicable animals but they also interacted and entertained the kids. This is such an amazing idea for a kids birthday party, I couldn't recommend them enough! Thank you Cindy for making a great party happen!

I reserved Cindy Lu's petting zoo for my daughters 3rd birthday, but the adults enjoyed it just as much as the kids. Cindy arrived on time, she was super nice and I can tell she truly loves her animals. She sat with the party and explained where all of the animals came from, shared funny stories and let the kids/adults hand feed the animals. It was amazing, and the pig was the cherry on top.

Cindy saved my child's birthday. We had planned to have my daughter's party on a Sunday when the hurricane was supposed to hit. On a Friday, Cindy offered to have the party on her farm to avoid the storm. The party could not have been more special. All the kids were greeted by roaming alpacas and pigs on their beautiful farm. Her husband took the kids on tractor rides. The kids pet some goats, some ducks, alpacas, pigs, rabbits, dogs. It was truly such a special birthday party one my daughter will never forget. Thank you!!!!

Hands down (or "Paws down") the best idea for a children's party out there. Reasonable prices and animals provide a five-star environment for a children's birthday...my little boy and his friends were so delighted, as were all the adults. This was a memorable birthday for a three-year old. The smiles on everyone's faces says it all.

Cindy Lu's mini petting zoo was a huge hit at my daughters 6th birthday. The animals are well cared for and so sweet and snuggly. Everett the handler was so patient with the kids. Worth every penny!!!

Working with Cindy was great! Everything went smoothly for my daughters birthday party, the animals were amazing! Would definitely use Cindy Lu's Zoo again!

Alpaca

What a hit! They just left our hone a few hours ago. This is the best thing you can bring to a kids party. Kids loved it. The parents loved it. Definitely an unforgettable event.

Ask the Community - Cindy Lu's Petting Zoo

How much? per hr?

There are different packages, and add-ons or substitions. Each package starts with essentially a base rate, like a set-up rate for a 1.5-hour base time. As of the date of this answer & through 2-1-25, current base rates for our 2 most standard… Read more

Are there birthday packages on the farm? If so, what are they and how much do they cost? What is the minimum guests requirement?

Yes, there are party packages "on the farm." Please email cindyluszoo@gmail.com to request rates with details.

I'm just curious what places allow a petting zoo?

Many parks do, often requiring an additional insured certificate. Some charge a fee to reserve a spot. There are a few party halls or children's party places too, I would search online or in Children's activity magazines for those types of venues.

Hi Cindy - what are the different packages you have and cost please?!

Yes, I have a farm party option. Please request a current pricing and information sheet, there is too much information to list in this answer format.

Hi may I ask do u also bring a pony or for pony rides? What is the general cost and hours for the zoo. Thank you

2023 UPDATE: Previous pricing answers are 2 years old and since then, inflation has impacted costs in the livestock feed industry astronomically, as well as staffing. At this time Jan 2023, "mini zoo" (small animals like rabbits, duck(s), chickens,… Read more

The place was VERY busy while I was there but the lines moved fast and they had multiple places you could buy food and drinks which helped. They also have a little market with all types of snacks, food, and drinks that are perfect to enjoy out on the lawn or patio. We were too late to see the farm or animals but we could view them in the distance which was a really cool and unique experience. I cant wait to come back for one of their many events they seem to hold. Quick tips: parking was a disaster, don't assume you will be parking in their lot if you go on a busy night or weekend. They had options nearby though that you could walk from. Also, the margaritas are strong, but in a good way! Don't be fooled by the premixed drink, I had two and was definitely feeling it.

We didn't get a chance to do the farm tour since we were limited on time, so we just grabbed something to eat from the cafe inside the market, got some coffee, and hung out for a bit before heading out. Caramel Rosemary Latte 5/5: Surprisingly good. Savory Toast with Egg 5/5: From farm to fork, this was so good. Ham and Brie Sandwich 4/5: The kids got this. The filling was good, but the bread was a bit hard. Tuna Sandwich 4/5: Same with this one, the sandwich itself was good, but the bread was a bit dense. Overall, it's a great place, the food is great, and I'm looking forward to coming back.

I love the concept of making fresh food accessible to everyone and anyone. It's such a great mission. The highlight for us was the nature play area; my little one could have stayed there for hours. They've done a fantastic job creating an outdoor experience that's genuinely fun and engaging for kids of all ages. I also loved the "lead experiences" they host every hour. We joined the chicken feeding, which was a huge hit thanks to Daniel! We felt very safe throughout our visit, and the security team was incredibly helpful and a special thanks to Stephanie for that. There are also many educational opportunities on the farm. Camps for kids, after school programs and other events are available throughout the year. The farm recently opened a coffee cart as well. There were many different varieties of birds, and each one added to the experience. My partner and kids had a wonderful time, and we especially loved the beautiful koi pond as well. It was a peaceful, fun, and unique outing for the whole family. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who enjoys birds and wants a more interactive experience with them. One thing to keep in mind is that visitors are not allowed to hold or pet the birds. However, you can feed them, and if they choose to land on your arm, that's perfectly okay. One of the birds even hopped onto my son's arm, which was a highlight of the visit! Overall, a fantastic experience that we would happily do again.

I came at 10am to see if I can register and walk in right away. They told me to come back at 11am. So I went across the street for a drink and then returned. It was a neat experience. You walk in and use hand sanitizers and get the instructions. If you're not a member you can handle the birds directly. You get a bowl of food and later can circle back to feed the fish. Some birds are outside their cages which is fun and you get some nice photos with them. The ones who ate from my bowl seemed to only really want the apples. The bowls had a mixtures of fruits and vegetables. The ones in the cages they tell you not to take out. Why? Don't know. Flight risk? For 15 bucks a person, it was a nice way to spend a hour and hear why some birds are the way they are (you'll have to ask the workers there why and they'll gladly share stories otherwise it's mostly a independent stroll through the sanctuary). No hard posing of headstands. THE EXPERIENCE. We arrived 5/10min late because we got lost. The farm is beautiful!!! Yoga area has umbrellas for shade. Goats and lamas in the yoga area make the yoga session. I couldn't concentrate as the goats kept visiting my mat. Inhale, fresh air. Exhale, fresh air... occasionally you'll get a waft and inhale goat poop smell. After all, it is a farm! YOU BEEN WARNED: they urinate and poop and they can urinate and poop on your mat (or you). There are staff onsite immediately cleaning up after them which was very nice because they relieve themselves frequently. My friends mat was pissed on and my mat was pooped on. After 1hr of yoga, we had a brief 10 min of photo ops which gives you an opportunity for pictures with the animals if you didn't get photos during the yoga session. Then we moved to a new area where they set up vendor stations to buy farm products: yoga tanks, fresh eggs, fresh blood Orange marmalade, fig jam, honey, soap, lotion... all made at the farm. Then we had opportunity to meet the mini pig, and then we went down to the stable area to see the other farm animals (ducks, turkey, donkeys, horses, and mini cows). It's a cute smaller farm but it's probs one of the most beautiful farms I've been in. I could def could see myself do this once a month. The experience was really fun. Nam-a-a-a-a-a-a-ste. It's easy to fill up the bucket with ripe strawberries quick. Although it doesn't seem like there's a lot of strawberries at first glance, there's a lot as I walked through the rows of strawberry plants - that was part of the fun! One thing I wasn't prepared for was the dirt and how muddy the strawberry rows were. I'm not sure if it was always that wet. Perhaps it was because it rained earlier in the day? My shoes got extremely dirty and there wasn't a convenient way to wash it off there. I recommend wearing rain boots. In addition to strawberries, there was a sunflower maze and a separate section for a simple sunflower field. For those who don't want to worry about food, there's vendors and food trucks on site. They also sell jam and fresh strawberries at the stand, which doesn't require an admissions ticket. Service wasn't anything special. The staff there were efficient and friendly.
