My 8 year old was a little old for the 5-7 program, but Coach allowed him to still participate since there were other 7 year olds in it. He had such a great time! It was a very positive environment, Coach gave good tips to improve technique, and his assistant coaches were kind and talented; I think they were high school kids who play on teams. It's always great to see older kids investing time in the younger generation. I highly recommend this program!

I spoke with Coach Donald Duck (Doug), and he was incredibly kind and willing to come out to our neighborhood to host a class. Unlike other programs we have tried that required a minimum number of participants, Coach Doug's main focus was simply teaching and coaching the kids. His passion really shines through. He is wonderful with the children. He is friendly, kind, and even a little silly to keep them engaged, while still having the right balance of discipline. He teaches the kids to listen, follow directions, and be kind to one another. Best of all, he actually teaches them real skills for the sport. It is not just running around. He designs fun games that incorporate the skills they are learning, which keeps the kids excited and motivated. Overall, Phoenix Sports has been such a positive experience for our family. We are definitely planning to continue with them and cannot wait to try out the other sports they offer.

Sasha, the owner was always responsive to any questions or feedback I had. My daughter got stung by a bee during camp and the Nick C, was so calm and handled the situation perfectly. I happened to be there so I was able to see and help. Nick carried her for me all the way to my car. However if I wasn't there I would be full confident she would have been taken care of. They also played some games with the kids and let them free play in the water and sand when when they wanted. But also encouraged them to surf. Both my kids were able to surf , by day two. I have a daughter and a son an both loved this camp. Ages 7 and 9. The only thing I would say is camp is actually over at 1:45 not 2, but that was so minor I didn't even mention it to Sasha. The new preschool is good, more expensive, has programs that others schools doesn't, but, if I could, the Goddard would be my choice. The administration has it together. The teachers are incredible, and I mean incredible. From the infant baby Bulaga to the Zebra classes. The nurture, care, and development... I see it, I felt it with my kids; they do everything right from my perspective. Thank you and continue to take care of the teachers and listen to them. There was no loyalty to me as a parent who helped them establish their fledgling facility. I understand having no availability at the moment but I would appreciate working with a parent who had been loyal, was there from the beginning and helped increase their enrollment by sending many Carlsbad parents to them. Not as much as even a response. Just heads up, the teachers they hire are kind and great with the kids but the owners have always come across as cold and uncaring. She has been incredibly helpful and patient with our family as we ironed out our new rhythm, and helped us figure out the right groups for my 5-year-old son to join. My son repeatedly tells me how much he likes being with Ms. Chelsea, the lead teacher in his group. I truly appreciate her kindness and warmth, and how empathetic she is. I've always felt real connection in every interaction I've had with her; she's a gem. And she posts lovely updates everyday after school to share the activities of the day; this helps me have insight into what my son's day was like, and makes for great conversations with him. I like the variety of activities that the kids get to participate in -- from learning from a beekeeper to beautifying the local rock garden to making herbal tea to nature journaling. Today, my son said during the car ride home that he loves nature school and doesn't want to miss ANY days. He loves the other kids in his group and said he wants to make sure to invite "everyone" to his birthday party this summer. It truly means so much to me that my son feels so at home already, and has found his tribe at Nature Scouts.

As parents, we super appreciate the strict policy against screens and smartphones. The counselors, junior counselors, and directors have all been consistently kind and supportive. One of our kids has intense anxiety and we were able to communicate with the director to strategize about how to help her thrive at camp.
