This place has a very nice roof top bar/restaurant, the bar is ok with a nice beer selection and some craft beer available the cocktails; my recommendation is to stick with the classics the mixology as they present it was not for me, most of the drinks were way to sweet and with no real flavor. In regards of the food the only dish that I really enjoyed is the Cauliflower tostada (I am not a Vegan) its delicious! I just cant get enough of it, the rest of the food is ok to try it. I will go back for more tostadas and cold beer

I had had this bar on my "to try list" for sometime and was so glad I finally tried it in August 2017. Even though Cine Tonala has been around for more than six months there is still some newness to it. Cine Tonala is located near seventh and Revolucion. If you are coming from San Diego it is easy to take an Uber or you can walk from the border. There are three levels to Cine Tonala. The first level has a café, photos of celebrities on the walls as well as the bathrooms. The second level has a boutique and a staircase. The third level is where the action is. There is a bar and numerous tables. Some nights there are films that are played via projection screen. While they do play movies, I have heard that many people just come to socialize and drink. The third level also boasts a great view of the city. I ordered a mojito and I really enjoyed it. I was with a group of more than twenty and all enjoyed their drinks. While I did not try any food items, what I did see on the plates of others at my table appeared delicious as the descriptions on the menu. The service was ok, but they could be more friendly. The prices seemed reasonable for a new location with a great view. And as I say for many places in Tijuana, I am already wanting to return.

Beautiful, very chic bar with multiple levels. It was chilly when my friend and I visited the top rooftop, but luckily they had several heaters. We were able to comfortably enjoy our delicious cocktails and see great views of the city. The owner was very friendly and stopped by our table to chat for a bit. I'll definitely be coming back the next time I visit TJ!

umami taco and pulpo taco. some of the best you can find in all TJ

brief review of restaurant: great food and atmosphere. Reasonably priced. Tacos, salads, and cocktails set us back appx $30USD. the Umami taco and the beet salad were fantastic. if you haven't been to Ave Revolucion in a long time, i suggest you go. Wednesday early evening and a lot of people enjoying the area's food and drink scene. definitely on its way to being TJ's version of SD's Gaslamp District.

They don't provide straws with drinks, even if you ask for one! Tried the mojito and noticed a few brown mint leaves inside...maybe they need to pick through the leaves more thoroughly before adding them to drinks. We were there for an artist presentation--ordered drinks at the bar and were told they would deliver the drinks inside the theater (drinks never delivered and show ended). Big kudos for layout, bringing artists to the region and for opening on Av. Revolucion. They def need to improve service and introduce straws.

The interactive element was wonderful with the experience. * The food buffet was good! Not gourmet, but definitely by no means poor quality! It is very interactive so for that reason, I think it's definitely an acquired taste. The actors were incredible and really knew how to keep the audience engaged. I really wish the actors had a microphone because even though the room is small, it echos and when anybody at your table laughs, you miss what they are saying. I also did not like how close we were sitting to each other at the table. They should have less people at each table and bring more tables in. The food was the reason I took off a star. The food was incredibly disappointing. For $70, you would think they could serve better food. It's a 3 course meal and all were bad. The appetizer was like 4 tomatoes with balsamic. Not a salad and very small for an appetizer. I'm really glad they had a pita bread and hummus bar in the beginning because that kept me full until the main course. I got the vegetarian option which was pasta with veggies but the pasta was so over cooked it was like mush. I've never had pasta that soft. My bf got the chicken and he also felt it was too dry and it wasn't served with anything with substance like mashed potatoes or veggies or anything. Just some piece of kale. Dessert was cake. I thought it was cheesecake but it was more like coffee cake. Also very bland. No frosting or anything, just a little whip cream. Other than food, it was so much fun!!

So Glad to have Spontaneously decided to go Here Friday Night. Side note: This Experience was Truly Meant to be & was Exactly what I Needed. And, I am So Thankful. The Stars were Aligned, Alligning.*****Again. Very Comfy Chairs, w/arm rests. .Felt like VIP, First Classs. You have a Server that comes to you with One Push of a Button ;) . You have your own Personal Butler. You can order Food w them or with QR Code. It depends but the Food came out like 10-15 min. (It was Longer for the Salmon.) They have a lil' Night Light on the Side and a lil' Table that swivels. You Kick Back + have your Feet Up on the Recliner, as the Back part Tilts to an Angle.... & There, you Relax the Night Away. Super Expensive Food ....but def Worth the Experience ... if you want to make it Special. :) Call me Boujee but it's Def. for those that Like to be Pampered. Fried Calamari is so Bombbb. It was Perfect in Every way. No Complaints. The Crunch is Sharp + Pierces your ears and those around you. You can tell they Perfectly drained it and let it sit out, as it was oil-free. And, the Parmesan Added a Richness to Tie it All Together. Last time I had the salmon, brussels and mash. (I could make this dish at Home-but it was my Birthday.) It was very Good. Brussels were thoroughly cooked... & easy to bite into, your teeth goes through the vegetables without Resistance. Everything on my plate was Soft + Tender. Note: The movie doesn't Start on the dot. They play a Few other films Prior (incase you're Running Late). *If you don't like your Seat, Any Seats Left Open AFTER the Movie Starts you can Steal. *When choosing your seat online, make sure that it's not Upfront near the Screen... like I Did. It gave me some Anxiety being that Close to the Screen. Luckily, my Butler (^o^) helped me, (which was so Awesome) Move to a Better Seat... which gave some distance & a Better view. *You can have Non-Alcoholic drinks *They do have Dessert. I Do Like it when they have Greeters, when you walk in. (There wasn't Any.) And, it felt a lil' Ghost Town w no Human Interaction, Out Front. I Do Like it when they check your Tickets, (Makes it more Professional. They didn't this Time + you were able to just walk in.) Having Employees Posted out Front makes it more Professional, Elite, Private and Structured. There was no white glove service, (this time) aside from my partially Attentive Server. Last Time, I was Greeted by the tenant at the Concession Stand. And, my ticket was checked. But, overall it is a Luxurious Experience. The Theatre Reminds me of: MTV Cribs where the Pop Stars had their own Movie Theatre in their Home. ;) So, Across the Front Entrance, is a Lounge area-Restaurant + Bar. I Hope to Check out Oneday, as it also has a Romantic view at Night, under the Stars, And, is very Pretty. It's So Cool + I'm Really Grateful we have something like this in San Diego, at Liberty Station. I'm Looking Forward to coming Back.

We sat there for 2 hours with two women next to us eating chips that were sold to them inside the waiting area. I would say there were a good 10 people pretty pissed off trying to listen to things while they're listening to kettle chip bags being opened and closed and opened and closed and potato chips being chomped on. Was pretty terrible. As always with the Civic, the getting out of the theater is always terrible to try to get to the parking lot the elevators always packed and then you figure out the people are going up a flight of stairs and getting on to the elevator up above so you have no chance from being in ground level and getting on to them and then you get into the parking structure and finding your car and waiting to get out but just the initial getting out of the theater and having to walk up all the stairs to your parking level then the smell of urine throughout the stairwell is always lovely.
