    Baby Pork Tortas

The ambiance was on point! Would not expect to find a spot like this on Revolution. We were sat at the bar for quick service; I witnessed the creations this bartender, got down! great job! Food was amazing, we had these little baby tortas with pork, they were delicious

Didn't expect the decor to be so nice. It was cute just very little. I wanted to try a couple dishes but was informed that they were out of octopus which bummed us out. They were also out of the Tuna we wanted. Regardless, everything we had was delicious. Four of us ate and drank for about $100

Wow! What an entertaining cocktail experience! SUGGESTION: Come on a weekday so it's not busy, then sit at the amazing bar. We watched Jean Pierre work his cocktail magic. He did a wonderful job entertaining us! He is so passionate on the art of making cocktails. It's obvious he's extremely knowledgeable about his craft. We asked for specific requests based on flavor and aroma, and he customized our requests! I had a Smoked Old Fashioned w/ a dried orange, topped with mint. Jean Pierre burned some cherry wood, and filled the smoke in a jar. Then he poured the mixed cocktail into the jar. The smoke, along with the orange and mint gave a whole other experience drinking an Old Fashioned! We also had garlic-salted grasshoppers at the bar. The inside is decorated with a cool and hip vibe. We only sat at the bar, but at the rear has more dining area. They also have a pizza oven, but we didn't order any food, so cannot comment on that. The bar countertop is coated in a cool epoxy-resin covered with pennies! Way cool! The funky restroom in the back is walled with floor-to-ceiling mirrors! Entertaining experience at the bar with craft cocktails. I totally recommend when in Tijuana!

I was excited to visit this reknowned spot in TJ. It was Monday so very slow and we were up for an appointment. The service was very attentive, it was quiet but I'm sure on weekend it would be much more lively. Cantina style decor with some cool nightclub features, mirrored bathroom etc. Food was quite inventive - I really would like to visit again or go to the Valle location because unfortunately one of the dishes didn't sit well and I couldn't enjoy the rest. Tuna tataki - delicious but a little cold. Fine line between fish being out too long and too cold for proper enjoyment. Great presentation, nice flavors. Corn with Epazote and cheese sauce - kinda like Mac and cheese with hominy. This was the problem. It was good, spicy, but something in the sauce was too heavy for me and ruined my appetite :( Cochinita Pibil sliders were yummy. Duck confit tostada - what a presentation! Came in a challis, crunchy pea shoots, berries, duck, sauces - all different flavors that really came together well. Cocktails - I had an albahaca (mezcal and basil) and another drink with Sandia (watermelon) and both vodka and mezcal. Both were delish, but light on alcohol. Two drinks would normally have me buzzed and I didn't feel them. It's definitely a splurge for a TJ neighborhood in terms of prices but I think it's worth it for the effort they clearly put in. I'd like to amend the stars in next visit and hope to do so!

Located on the main drag of Avenida Revolución in Tijuana, La Justina is a modern bar and restaurant offering a creative gastropub take on local dishes. Each table was started with a bag of seasoned popcorn, and sitting at the bar, I ordered the Hamburguesa de Pulpo (octopus burger), which came with several whole octopus tentacles nestled into a thick brioche bun, along with guacamole, pork rinds, and greens. Since this was a "burger," I was expecting more of a ground meat patty made of octopus but was pleasantly surprised that it came with whole tentacles! This was definitely a luxurious "burger" and well worth the price. On top of the delicious, creative food, the service was super friendly, and the atmosphere was colorful and modern.

Amazing cocktails! Definitely trendier, hipsterish and a cool place to hang out. We ate at Caesars before this and wanted to come for drinks. Ended up getting the octopus carpaccio. It was so good. Just the way I like it. My friend got the corn dish, she didn't like it. Then we got 2 cocktails each, the first my Mexican friend ordered us something in Spanish with mezcal and taste like some tamarind too. Had no idea but it was good. Second cocktail, basically the bartender made whatever he wanted and it was like a tiki drink. Really enjoyed that too. Came in a cute fish glass. Reminded me of a tiki bar. The other cocktails were theatrical with smoke, and tasted just as good as it looks. A tad bit pricier for the strip on food and drinks, but a must visit!

Finally got a chance to try this restaurant located right in downtown Tijuana. The place is very small with limited seating but gives you a cozy vibe. We order some drinks and waited for a few minutes before getting a table inside. The mezcal drinks we got were super tasty! As we sat down inside, we started to order a refreshing salad for appetizer. We got tacos de lengua and seared salmon for the main entrees. I love it that they gave me descriptions about each dish when they brought it out like the way how it was cooked and what was for garnish... etc My beef tongue was so tender and flavorful. The salmon was also delicious, not to mention how beautifully plated all the dishes are. The service was the best. They kept coming to our table and check on us and made sure I had enough tortilla to eat. Overall it was a great experience. I'd love to come back to eat more next time. Thanks!

Food is good, drinks are good, definitely not "TJ prices" at all. The servers are not bad, and the bar looks nice. My main gripe is that the place is super small and crammed inside. The back space is also tiny and there are no windows or views. I feel for being expensive, the interior experience should be improved. Some reviewers are posting photos of the Valle location (incorrectly) on this downtown location. So yes visit just be ready to be unimpressed with the interior.

One of my fav places to eat and have a drink when I'm down in Tijuana! They have specialty drinks and tons of food that are all so aesthetic and yummy! Their seafood is so fresh and I love the uniqueness of their menu items. The customer service is top notch as well! They definitely made sure we all had an amazing experience and nothing less.

Have you ever wanted to eat at a five star Michelin rated restaurant but didn't want to post for exorbitant prices and meager portions? We'll look no further eaters!! Found nestled in Revolucíon Street in TJ La Justina is a gem. The food is a combination of traditional Mexican fare but with a modern twist. We ordered a smattering of foods from blue fin tuna sashimi, bone marrow along with beef tongue. Everything was delicious the tongue words can't describe how incredible it was. If you didn't tell someone that it was tongue they would never know and only savor how incredibly soft it was. I know it's cliche to say that it melts in your mouth but it really does. The marrow was cut down the middle so you didn't have to fight it to get all that goodness out of it. It was sprinkled with a bit of sugar and was melted with a torch so you got this crunchy sweet compliment to the rich savory flavor of the marrow. The blue fin tuna was fresh and oh so delicious. It came with this tube of soy sauce and oil that you drizzle over the fish so it was pretty neat to put in as much or as little as you want. Staff is super friendly and sanitizing was truly impressive better than stateside. Totally price off the meal for five adults with drinks worked out to approximately $40/person with tip included. Can't beat it, can't beat the atmosphere and the hospitality of the staff. Highly recommend!

My hubby showed me a post from his friend about tacos in TJ and asked if I wanted to cross the border to get some, so I said sure! I actually wanted to check this place out instead, so he agreed. They weren't taking any reservations, so there was a small wait. While we were waiting, I saw several parties go inside the restaurant, so they probably have connections or something. I was happy to be dining inside! We shared the torta cochinita, tiradito atun aleta, tuetano, and tostada Dona Francis. Everything was delicious and presented beautifully. For drinks, I chose a limonada Justina, and he got the mezcal clandestino, and a carajillo. Although my drink had no alcohol, it still looked as pretty as both his cocktails. All the drinks tasted great too! We ordered two churros desserts, but didn't realize how big they were going to be. I was expecting the regular soft churro stick, but this dessert had vanilla ice cream on top of a hard circular shaped churro. There was also some apple compote, which made it taste more like an apple pie a la mode- still tasted great though. Service was also efficient. Highly recommend this eatery if you decide to take a day trip to TJ!

We were looking to refresh our palette after wine tasing and found this gem! The drinks were custom and boutique for sure. The servers were on pint and quick to suggest and quench or cravings. The restaurant is new and the scenery is unforgettable.

THE FOOD * Pulpo a la Gallega: Sautéed in olive oil and paprika. Tender, thin slices. The fresh lemon adds a bright acidity that balances the dish. * Gambas al Ajillo: Garlic shrimp treated very well. Tender, juicy, and highly flavorful. * Patatas a la brava: Hot potatoes coated in a creamy ali-oli. * Choricito frito: Delicious sautéed chorizo sausage. * Pinchitos de solomillo: Grilled filet mignon skewers. While the cook made them quite tender, the beef flavor was a bit off. I would recommend sticking to their phenomenal seafood instead. * Paella mixta: A classic presentation of saffron rice, chorizo, chicken, shrimp, and mussels. * Spanish creme brulee: A perfect finish. A little outdoor seating, a bar top area, and a comfortable indoor area that is very inviting, were a surprise as I approached the location. The food is elegant, is presented amazing, and tastes great. I started with the Sweet Corn and Piñon Soup. I see why it was voted best soup for two years in a row. The thinly sliced corn bread adds an amazing texture in those bites. I had the Apricot salad (sorry I did not note the name and the menu was updated so it is not in any of the pictures) was fresh, crisp, and refreshing. I finished the evening with a Vanilla Bean Panna Cotta with sugared dark cherry was very pleasing. I almost forgot the focaccia bread.. made daily, served warm and soft. A must have. The server had a couple of hiccups with an incorrect food order and totally separate billing issue (which by their reaction I would assume was an off night) but other food delivery staff and bussing staff were timely and professional. I would recommend reservations. I was able to secure a seat (due to showing for dinner around 4 pm or so), but the restaurant filled up nicely and hosted about 4 anniversary's and 1 birthday in my time there. Dress attire seemed casual but there is definitely a more elevated clientele so I would recommend a thoughtful outfit for the experience.

We arrived around 5:30pm on a busy Friday evening with two other couples and no reservations (always a gamble). The dining room and tapas bar were fully booked for a party of six, but fortunately an outdoor patio table opened up and we happily took it. Even better, our server Jose Luis (who also works at TJ Oyster Bar) recognized us from past visits. He delivered friendly, attentive service all evening and struck the perfect balance of checking in without hovering. Drinks: * Paper Airplane (bourbon-based signature cocktail) -- excellent and well balanced * Estrella Galicia 0.0 ABV Spanish pilsner -- a surprisingly good non-alcoholic option Food: * Cazuelita de Costilla de Res (short rib tacos) -- flavorful and a standout starter * House bread -- simple but very satisfying * Tiramisu & churros -- both excellent and perfect for sharing Just "Meh": The Chicken Marsala. Not bad, but we've definitely had better at Italian restaurants. Next time we'll stick entirely with the Spanish/Mexiterranean side of the menu. Pro Tip: Make reservations for dinner or arrive early for happy hour (4-6pm, Mon-Fri) -- this place fills up quickly, especially on weekends. Service was attentive, pacing was smooth, and our table was well taken care of throughout the evening. My first issue happened during my birthday dinner, which my husband had planned to host as a surprise in the tapas bar area. When he booked the event, he was informed of a minimum spend requirement, which he agreed to. However, no one told him that it would be a half-off night. Because of that, and because some of our guests were charged separately for their meals (which we were embarrassed to discover after the fact), our final bill didn't come close to the required minimum. When we asked to speak with a manager, we were initially ignored. After repeatedly asking through our server, the manager eventually provided a partial gift card toward the remaining balance--but the situation could have easily been avoided with clear communication upfront. Unfortunately, things didn't improve when we returned to use that gift card. On multiple visits, we experienced long waits just to be acknowledged, and when we were told to seat ourselves, many of the tables were dirty and hadn't been cleared. The most frustrating experience was with a takeout order. I ordered the chicken marsala, expecting a quality meal for the $30 price. Instead, I received four extremely thin pieces of chicken. When I called to politely share my concern, the manager argued the portions are always weighed to 8 oz. After weighing what remained (I ate one very small piece), it came out to just 3.9 oz. So it would've been 4.5 oz at best. I sent photos and was told I'd receive a call back--but never did. I ended up bringing the food back to the restaurant, where I was told a gift card had been texted to me (it hadn't). It was resent on the spot, but even then, it didn't include the takeout fee. Yes, they charge a $6 service fee for takeout on top of the already overpriced dish!!! There was no apology or real acknowledgment of the issue. I was so hungry at that point that I ordered the shrimp and fries tapas--she charged me, minus the service fee lol. It was void of flavor tbh. At the end of the day, the recurring issues are lack of communication, inconsistent service, and disappointing food quality for the price. A sincere apology, acknowledgment of falling short of expectations, or follow-through would have gone a long way, but unfortunately, that never happened. It's disappointing because this place presents itself as a higher-end dining experience, but the service and quality just don't match. It's clear they only care about one thing...and it's definitely not the customer! I still have a significant balance left on the gift card, otherwise I likely wouldn't return.
