Was looking for a local Jazz Lounge to take my boyfriend for his 30th. I didn't want to go somewhere crowded or rowdy since he prefers a more relaxed and serene atmosphere. I found out this lounge does late night jazz which worked perfectly for our evening plans and is near where we live. I noted that they just sold beer and wine when booking the ticket so I wasn't expecting a full bar. Tickets were available online and you had the option to select your seats. We arrived for the show and were immediately greeted by Leonard, one of the staff and musicians. He showed us our seats, pointed out the musicians, let us know they'd be starting shortly, and brought us menus with beer, wine, and a few canned cocktail options. The space was small and intimate. The musicians introduced themselves and spoke directly to the crowd before and during their show. It was awesome to feel really immersed in the experience. They did a fantastic job riffing off of each other and giving space to one another for an engaging and entertaining performance. We were really happy to find this gem and hope they can keep putting on these shows. read more

Strolled into the intimate Jazz Lounge near Rolando with my sultry shawty yesterday evening to enjoy the cool vibe & live tunes. This reputable music hall is cozy & warm with excellent acoustics. Reserved seating proved to be spaciously comfortable. Sight lines are excellent. Box lunches, soft drinks, brew & wine are available for a fair price. Honestly, the minimalist supper was not bad at all. Entire service staff is friendly attentive and efficient. A brief show presented by mostly local tunesmiths started a tad tardy but was entertaining & enjoyable. Special space without a doubt. A satisfying musical experience that I would recommend for all. This rather nondescript store front jazz club is a very nice, intimate venue to hear some really cool jazz. The long, narrow space seats about 40 people at small round tables for two. Acoustics are good. Everyone receives complimentary water. Soft drinks, wine and beer are available for purchase. Service was excellent. Parking is on the street and in a small car park behind this set of stores. Overall, a very good experience. Well be back. read more

To honest my expectations was very high because of ratings that I saw in here. But I am kinda quite disappointed because too much talking, too much interruption,the songs was focus on antenna tv theme songs and Sesame Street song. They sing great but they could do better. I payed extra for my dessert but come to find out when I got home tiramisu is not tiramisu is banana bread pudding. Definitely coming back! Recently attended and listened to Joshua White and fellow artists. Best way to describe the venue is that it's intimate and close to the music. Personally, I think the venue is perfect for jazz. Small round tables seat two. The host will offer complimentary small bottle of water per person. There is a small selection of beer and wine on menu as well. But to be honest, you're there for the music and to get lost in the vibe! And for a Tuesday, the venue was nicely filled. I really enjoyed a concert at this venue. I found the reviews of this place online to be very good so we reserved our seats in front. If you order food you have to get tickets 24hrs in advance. They made an exception for us as we didn't know. The menu was Italian. Food was good. I had eggplant parmigiana. Drink choices were ok and wine was drinkable. Nothing high end and no mixed drinks. Music was outstanding. Concert lasted 1hr. They didn't take any drink orders during concert. Value was high. I think there could be better table service. This is a Diamond in the rough. Went to this little club for the first (but not last) time last night. The live music was fantastic. You order your food a few days before. I forget who their catering service is but the food was great and arrived warm at our table. My son and I both ordered the asian bowl. I had the tofu he had the chicken. I could have licked the bowl. My husband ordered the cheese burger and since there wasn't a crumb left I assume his picky self like it. We booked our next visit before we left. I highly recommend this music venue. I discovered the Jazz Lounge shortly after it opened, when a light bulb was the only welcoming sign on El Cajon Blvd. It is a music venue like something you might find in Boston or NYC but it is in our neighborhood, providing an intimate experience with incredibly talented musicians. Dinner is tasty but optional, inexpensive wine and beer are available, and Leonard Patton exudes enthusiasm and pride, as he should. It has a family feel with Leonard's beautiful wife always greeting us with a smile. This network of musicians and music lovers is growing exponentially. The price seems really small for being up close and personal with dynamic, amazing musicians who so obviously are loving the experience. Watch out, tix will be harder to get as word gets out, this is a venue you will want to return to again and again! read more

What a wonderful experience. This is an intimate small club atmosphere. You sit close to the bandstand, which is great, and the sound level and mix are good, even so.
