I've seen a few movies here and each time have had a good viewing experience. They usually offer both popular hits as well as Indie films that may just be starting to gain some traction. Widescreen theater with ample, comfortable seating and pretty good sound system. The interior of the theater is beautiful and really takes you away from the outside world for just a bit. Staff here were friendly and the restrooms are clean. Can't really ask for more! Tip: You likely don't need to pre-order tickets especially if you're not watching during premier week.

Before the…read moremovie, I was looking for an outlet to charge my phone and found one next to the elevator near the theater entrance. Standard food and drink offerings were available at the concessions stand with no lines on a slow Saturday afternoon, and a few small tables with seating in the lobby. The auditorium opened about 25 minutes before the listed showtime, then 12 minutes of previews before the start of the feature film. For a non-busy day, auditorium 1 wasn't cleaned very well. Found popcorn and crumbs on my seat and the one next to me, even on the one in front of me, as well as on the ground... not a lot, but it was noticeable. The elevation is minimal, so if someone was sitting in front of me, their head would have probably blocked my view. I did however appreciate that there was ample space between rows. No reclining seats, but they were comfortable and in good condition, with cupholders. No problems with picture or audio, and perfect comfortable temperature inside. A no-frills theater with old school charm and lovely artwork and decor to add a nice touch to my viewing experience. And the movie I saw was out of this world, just what I would expect from Steven Spielberg.

For starters, not only do you have surround-sound, but you also have surround-screen, too. Although it's spherical, the film itself is stretched a bit. At times, the text is cut off towards the edges, and the tops and bottoms were cut off. While this could be expected for ease of editing, it really could have been much more if there was a way to fill in the gaps. In addition to being fully immersive, looking up can also be tiring over time. 100% worth the experience - at least once!

I have seen this theatre progress every time I come here. Recently caught an evening screening of The Super Mario Brothers Galaxy. Surprisingly enough, for being a movie theatre in downtown Santa Cruz, the drive and parking situation is very easy. The theatre itself is spacious and clean. It's my first time back since they remodeled, the movie screen and sound system was great quality, the seating lounge/recliners were very comfortable. Every employee I encountered was very helpful and friendly. While I was in the auditorium waiting for the movie to start I pre-ordered my ticket for Mortal Kombat 2 (my most anticipated movie of the year, along with: Street Fighter Masters of the Universe and Avengers: Doomsday) NO SPOILERS: but Super Mario Brothers Galaxy was a great movie. Can't wait to go back next week to watch Mortal Kombat 2 and get one of the exclusive popcorn buckets. Thank you for the hospitality!

I miss the old recliner seats. I am not a movie theater person as I can't stand people making noises during a movie. The last couple of times I have gone there have been teenagers being disruptive during the movie. For accessibility they do have an elevator which is good since the movie theater is on the second floor of a building. Their movie perks program seems like a really good deal! If you are someone that goes to the movies just once a month, you would 100% benefit from signing up for the program.

And I wonder if attendance will be sufficient, it feels like people want a local movie theater but not enough of them actually want to visit it. And I was a bit surprised at the condition of the theater. Most significantly, when I watched Project Hail Mary yesterday, the image was very misaligned with the screen. At the top and bottom, it spilled beyond the screen by a good foot. And the sides, it fell short of the edges of the screen by a half foot. On the right hand side, masking material was simply missing from the screen setup. In a charming local theater like this, I'm not expecting big theater video and audio quality (and neither are, and both are adequate). But the setup last night seemed janky, so much so that it makes me less likely to visit again.

We had a huge like 5-6 hour gap between games and thought catching a flick was a great way to kill some time. We actually walked right in, I had purchased the tickets/seats before we got there. They've got a host stand/register of sorts, but not someone scanning or verifying your tickets, at least at that time. They've got 1 concession stand with all the normal movie food/drink items. Theater was clean inside, chairs feet part didn't lift all the way up though. Still it's a good location for a theater.

They had standard offerings at the concessions stand, and I was able to grab a snickers ice cream bar cuz I needed some sugar (and I love chocolate) with sufficient service and no wait. I do appreciate that Cinelux theaters typically sell beer and wine too, and apparently canned cocktails. Everything went smoothly during my time here, even parking was easy in the shared lot for the plaza. A great way to end my weekend.

Thirty minute into the movie, we needed to exchange our vehicle for an other one which my kids brought by and waited for me outside the gate. I exited the gate after inform the girl at the ticket boot of my intension that I would change the vehicle then go back in. I pull mine along the other about 300 ft away from the ticket boot. I know the distance since it was about the length of my property and I used to be an architect so I am good at that. I was hurry to take chairs, blankets, pillows, drinks... from one to the other. As soon as I start doing that a guy approached and shouted from his car that I cannot park there. - Sir, we are not park here, we just try to exchange the car - No, you have to move, I am security guy. - Sir, I have asked and inform the girl in the ticket boot to replace my car - No, you did not, because I was seating right there. This really upset me. He is implying I was lying for one. Two, how long my vehicle transfer would take? Did he see what I was doing and hear my explanation? I understood I might have stopped not in a right zone. I know they don't want anyone park there to watch movie for free. But it was Monday night, at 9:35 pm all (though very few) were inside. The parking was huge, no one around us, no car waiting at the boot, no car was coming or going. Our action would take no more than 2 minutes with engine car running and driving light on. If he paused a little bit to observe us, not come straight at us right a way, we would be gone in no time. Nothing would happen. But he decide to give us a hard time instead.
