We decided that we wanted to watch a new movie (scream) and we saw that this theater was still open. When we walked into the theater it seemed nice at first impression, but soon after we walked into our theater room it was a gross mess, popcorn, trash, and old alcoholic beverage containers left out still from the last movie showing before ours showed. The service was not very good and everyone that works here should under-go customer service training again because it was not satisfying at all. As well as learning how to clean properly this whole theater was a mess after paying close attention. This place has some serious problems, TAKE YOUR MONEY SOMEWHERE ELSE. read more

Always showing the newest releases and doing so in a way that makes it possible for people with a busy schedule to fit one in. during the day for an escape into a film. Multiple viewing times provided for the newest releases and a great selection available for viewing. Comfortable movie-watching experience with nice, clean seats , and a great display, and sound to match. We come here frequently and always have a good experience. The staff is helpful and have great service, the seats are super comfy for bigger folks (the middle arm rest goes up!) and they serve a larger variety of food that is pretty fresh and tasty by movie theater standards! It's the only place that we have that you can viable get food for dinner with your movie. It's no Michelin star restaurant, but it's hot and fresh, and easy to eat in the dark. The theaters are pretty spacious, with a couple really small ones that are honestly pretty fun. We even had the problem with a showing once and I emailed the owner and he was terrific to deal with and went out of his way to make it right and treat us well. It's just a super solid local theater chain that I'm super happy to have in our neighborhood. Thanks for being there for us!!! Whenever I get back-to-back days off from work, I Indulge and go here to watch movies. I saw Top Gun : Maverick yesterday and Jurassic Park: Dominion on Monday. I must say Top Gun: Maverick was genuinely great. THIS IS WHAT CINEMATIC ENTERTAINMENT SHOULD BE!!! Definitely my second favorite movie of the year, The Batman being first. As for Jurassic Park: Dominion the story is kinda rushed. Lots of jumping to another story. At times it felt like a spy movie, then a marvel movie. At one point I was waiting for Dominic Toretto and his crew from the fast and the furious franchise to show up. Followed by Optimus prime and King Kong (haha) But overall, the story was quite intense and complex for the first 10 minutes. I'm telling you, it was so many places. Small little local theater in a busy plaza. The theater screens were adequate, and the sound was fine if not a little low compared to some of the newer theaters. Seats were comfy, but were not reclining seats, so that was a little bit of a bummer. What was a real disappointment was the concessions line was insane, and only one cashier was open. 15-20 minutes later, another opened, but by that time I was already next in line so it didn't matter much. Additionally, we handed our folded up, printed out paper ticket to the ticket taker, which was a bit rushed on our end because our hands were full of concessions. Apathetic, or maybe in protest, the ticket taker unfolded our paper ticket in a COMICALLY slow pace. Look-- I get it, I've been a ticket taker too in my job history, but the depressing rate which he unfolded our tickets just left a bad taste in our mouths, which was clearly not our intention to be difficult because we had tons of food in our hands. Even another guest in front of us (a regular to this theater) was very disappointed, and mentioned to me that she might grab the popcorn, leave to the movie, and pay after. Does that sound like an efficient experience? Local theater gets 3 stars for not being a greedy theater chain, but I do expect a bit better customer service for the lack of big chain amenities, and this theater didn't deliver. read more

Who manages this theater? It's awful. Terribly understaffed. Trash cans over flowing. Seats and floors not cleaned between showings. No one providing security or ticket taking. I use to love the movie pre-Covid and remember when this theatre remodeled and offered a nice date night. No more. Even the film quality lacks luster compared to high definition TV. Waoo.. I really impressed how the theater & restroom were cleanliness, nice interior. Especially the seat is new & comfortable. The price for tickets movie & dood are reasonable. On sunday night my ticket was $10.75 , final prices for 2 tickets movie, 1 large popcorn, 1 garden salad come out $35. CineLux is a straightforward movie theater in Capitola. As if there aren't already enough theaters in the area, this tiny one with a few screens makes a good spot since there's ample parking and tons of restaurants around the area for the before or after meal. Tuesdays here are clutch as they offer $6 movies all day which is a steal, which includes films that are newly released. Now you don't have to clamor that piggy bank for enough dollar bills to see your favorite movie. It got super busy here because of the discounted fares so beware. The theater seats are all big and recline pretty generously. That also means that you might end up falling asleep if you've had a long week or aren't as interested in the movie. Make sure you aren't being dragged to one because the zzzs will come and people will catch on. read more

This is a great theater! We love coming here! The staff are always so nice and seem happy to be there! They have a full food menu, you can come and have lunch or dinner here. There are for sure some food items that don't quite hit the mark but they seem to change the menu from time to time weeding those out. They have $5 movies on Tuesday but make sure you get your ticket online early because it gets packed!! On Tuesdays they also do half off some of the food items so if you want snacks get there early because the lines get busy! One thing we love about this theater specifically is it has a bar to get beer, both on tap and in the bottle as well as margarita daiquiris. You can bring them in the theater and truly relax! They also have a bar you can sit at and some tables and chairs to eat. They also have a good selection of non-alcoholic drinks besides soda. They have some large theater and some smaller ones showing all the popular movies. It's also located in a parking lot that has a massage place and restaurant right next to it so you can create a full date night all in the same spot! Highly recommended! read more

We came here to see John Wick 3 last Saturday. The theater is kind of tucked away from the outdoor mall and right next to a Walgreens. The theater is super hidden and small. Not hard to find, but just not obvious either. You walk in and they have a small concession stand to the right, and a small bar to the left. Then they have theaters to left and right. For the small space they're in, they fit a decent amount of movie theaters in there. The theaters themselves are small, at least the one we were in, probably 70 seats total or less. The chairs are leather and individual like the new style, but they don't sit back or raise the foot rests like the state of the art ones do. Nothing special as a theater, but I'd still go back to watch a movie here. read more

I really like this theater as a whole, and there is a HOWEVER; the ticket line! It would be so much better if it was separate from the snack line. Like back outside at the window! I guess this is a ploy to get folks to buy their goodies at the same time as their ticket, but the line is so slow with only one person selling the theater tickets! I want to be able to buy my ticket with CASH, and not stand in a line that is reliant on one cashier! I never saw a problem with folks not buying their snacks when tickets were sold separately. I do wish that popcorn bags were made out of a quieter material, folks in the theater can be pretty noisy rustling their bags during the movie. read more

Holy CRAP was this a sh*t experience! Let's start off with the employees. Many of the ones I encountered were high school age, and they were goofing off with each other instead of quickly helping me with my order. I just asked for a kids' deal combo, which is a tiny drink and a small amount of popcorn, with a fruit snack pack. It should have taken two minutes from the time I ordered until the time I paid. It took more than five. They kept laughing at each other and making jokes instead of taking care of my order. After waiting for the card reader for a while, I finally asked if I should pull out the card, because I thought it might not have switched screens because it doesn't notify you when to switch them out. One of the male employees said, "HAHA, PULL OUT!!" I don't like wasting my time with idiots. My sister and I finally get into the theater around 8:12, when our movie started at 8. Usually there's 10-20 minutes of previews, but not at this theater! The movie had already been on for at least five minutes by the time we got in, and it was Avengers so you KNOW we were pissed. Those are pretty annoying, but I wouldn't have written a review if just those occurred. The MOST annoying thing about this experience, which I know is out of the theater's control, was the audience! Hoooly hellll they were SO annoying. Many of them were also high school students, and the girls in our same row would not shut up throughout the entire movie. They were laughing, talking, and sometimes yelling, during even the quiet parts of the movie. There was also an adult sitting behind us who kept like snoring/clearing his throat and commenting on different scenes...ugh I mean wtf?? Do y'all not ever go to movies?? Do you have any consideration?? I will never be back to this theater. read more

I am very picky about movie theaters: the seats have to be perfect: not too soft, not too hard; the movie screen has to be the perfect distance: not too far away and not too close... this movie theater nails all of those aspects and more! The theater is big and spacious, the chairs are comfortable and the movie screen is not too close to the seats. I also love how you get to reserve your seats. It is so convenient! Love the tiny theaters (4 rows total) and the room to spread out. The price wasn't too bad for a matinee movie. Staff were friendly and there were lots of choices for snacks. Super easy to book tickets, select your seats, and pay via fandango app. When you enter you just show your barcode. I really appreciated the ease of this. They also have food and drinks here. Seats were large and comfy, but do not recline with your feet up. Everyone was respectful of the Covid precautions and kept their masks on when they were not consuming food/drinks. Trying to purchase a ticket a the kiosk wasn't helpful and such a long line with no one seeming to want to step in and help.. perhaps they need to hire more employees that actually assist you into getting your tickets, snacks, etc and someone to sweep and pick up the trash, etc read more

My favorite theater to go to. Never crowded. They have deals when the tickets are less expensive. Good selections at the snack bar where the lines are never long. They have classic movies two days per week. You can get alcohol here as well. It's an all around great theater. read more

This is a pretty great place to go see a movie. Not sure if they serve hard alcohol but they have a great beer selection and decent food. The theatre themselves are pretty small but it's all good especially considering the size of the seats not to mention how comfortable they are. Staff is friendly and the only downside is the price for food. Pretty outrageous to pay $7 for a small bag of popcorn that costs them change. Great movie theater! Attentive and nice staff, clean bathrooms, and good popcorn. We wanted to change seats once because the people sitting near us were disruptive (to us not anyone else). So we went back up front to see about sitting somewhere else. My only complaint is that they had to call the manager down from his office in order to make the transaction, which seems overly time consuming. But other than that, they asked where we wanted to be moved to, made the move, issues us new tickets and we went in to our new seats. read more

Theater is clean and that's a good thing. Just feel the screen is a little dim. Sitting in the middle row which isn't far from the screen and unable to see clearly. Could use some adjustment.
