Saw two movies this weekend. This is a fine theater. Clean. Good screens. Nice sound. Bathrooms were clean. Good popcorn. Nice and buttery and salty. Arcade. $10 for Saturday night. $6 for Sunday first showing. We are average sized people and the seats were fine. read more

Nice, clean, comfortable seats. Tried the NBox seats, 3-D. It was pretty cool. And the popcorn was hot buttery and delicious.

I would like to say what a great group of young people work at this movie theater. The evening my 84 year old mother, a friend and I went to see the Last Supper, it was raining. I thought by the time the movie would end we would be ok to drive home, little did we know it would be a record breaking amount of rainfall that would devastate the City of Harlingen. So we were stuck at the movie theater till about 11:00 pm. The staff was understanding and realized we were all not able to leave and reassured us that they would not make us leave until it was safe. They even gave us a left over pizza. They were so kind and made a stressful situation, more calming and safe. So I give this theater an A+ rating. read more

The problem with this place is their management walking around barking orders at the employees, it made me feel very uncomfortable as a customer and it's happened more than a few times. I feel bad for the employees who work there. read more

I went to see Black Widow last night. It was the first theater experience Ive had since the lockdown. I was very impressed with their cleaning protocols. Mask are optional but just about everyone I saw was wearing them when not in their seats. You can pick your seating online or at the ticket booth so that helps with social distancing according to your comfort level. Best of all was the burgers. Not sure who's managing the food now but they are doing a good job. The entire staff in the theater were very friendly and they made my families experience in returning back to normal very pleasant. Overall great movie theatre experience! They have a wide selection of food to choose from; their seats are large and incredibly comfortable (they lean!). It does get really cold in the theatres, so you may want to bring a jacket. And beware that they really blast the sound during the movies. So if you're particularly sensitive to noise, you may want to find a way to dampen your ears a bit. read more

I went to this theater a week ago. It was not ready for COVID. Masks were not required inside the theater and children were running around like it was a playground unmasked. They even came close to me where I was sitting. I was very uncomfortable and couldn't concentrate on the movie. read more

The Cinemark In Harlingen has the best concession food in all the RGV. I visit the movies often and like the quickness of the service here. This is a normal theater where everything is overpriced. I have held my son's birthday party here every year. I rent out an entire theater. The staff is fantastic. They take care of our needs quickly. read more

Early bird show times and Tuesday's provide cheaper movie ticket prices at Cinemark, usually about $5.75. There is an XD theater that has amazingly comfy seats and the best sound quality for your movie, about $12.00 a ticket last time I saw a movie in there. You can purchase tickets online and don't have to wait in line when u arrive at the theater - just get scanned in. A basic digital ticket costs about $10.00 per person. These prices are not set and are always changing depending time and day. You can now purchase alcoholic beverages and enjoy while watching your movie. They check for valid ID of course. Make sure if your watching a newly released movie you get there early because seats fill up fast!!! read more

Always clean, staff is friendly, mgmt always present. Theatres are always clean. My family loves this theatre.

So after watching this remarkable opera for three hours at $22 a ticket while it was being broadcast live from the Metropolitan Opera , Cinemark ended the showing about 10 minutes before the end and began ushering parents and kids into the theater for Venom. Not helping were the four senior citizens who had wandered out of the home and really didn't even know where they were. I had to take them to the restrooms and help them find their seats. The manager seemed unaware they were even showing an opera. Streaming is the way to go. read more

I love this theatre. Whenever I visit my sister it's always worth it to travel an extra 10-15 minutes to get to this theatre. The Sunrise mall Cinemark truly sucks. They don't even put butter on your popcorn so you eat dry popcorn. The Sunrise mall Cinemark is always over crowded and dirty as well. Yup do yourself a favor and drive the extra 15 minutes for a more enjoyable experience. You guys are great thanks. read more

My dad and I came to a movie and I thought, why not go in and sit in the hall bench where it is quieter. Nope, the child at the entrance says "we can't let you in early. We need time to clean the theater." I explained we would wait in the hall on a bench. Nope! Wow. Really, like my dad and I would sneak into another show like some punk kids. read more

Wow very impressive great customer service and great employees .. I went in there today with my 13 year old son .. To watch. A great movie early 1,45 pm so .. We noticed when we got home he reached in his pocket and saw he lost his rolled up 34 dollars ... By 7 pm we went back to movie place and asked a employ if they could have found a certain amount of cash on the same number of theater and time and by our Surprise yes. The manager found the same amount Of cash and returned it !!! We were praying for the money . We are now counting and pitching pennies since we found a dog and that's what we needed the cash was to get shampoos and leash for the new puppy ! Thank you for honest and helpful service . One thing about this theater that I don't like is the seats are uncomfortable and kind of small. I've been in many Cinemark theaters during my travels around the US and the seating is much more ample and comfortable, some even offer leather seats. I thing it's time to consider an upgrade. I can see why people don't like sitting next to a stranger because you're really close! I would also appreciate better food choices like other Cinemark theaters offer, after all it is the "large" theater in Harlingen. Other than that the staff is friendly and service is good. I usually go to the movies early in the weekday so it's fairly empty so if you want to avoid the crowds that's the time to hit them up. read more

"The Palace" is one of a kind, well, actually two of a kind. This and another location in Minnesota are the only ones that have this internal design. As a movie theater it is as good as the rest, offering great sound and comfortable seating, with the sound really excelling in the XD theater. As a fan of horror films I must always watch them in XD as sound is very important in delivering spooks. What sets this place apart for me is the food. Their popcorn is the best in the business, and their fountain drinks are the best in Harlingen. I am disappointed that places like Whataburger (at least the Harlingen locations) have terrible fountain drinks. It seems they aren't fed enough syrup. That is never the case with Cinemark 16. They have an eating area titled Studio Eats which provides great ice creams, burgers, wings, fries, nachos, and pizza. I have tried everything on the menu except the different style hot dogs and can say I have never been disappointed. For a movie experience this is my favorite theater in Cameron County. read more

I'm usually not the movie going type (can't sit for too long) but I still enjoy this movie theatre. The CineEats restaurant offers really delicious food especially the burgers. This theatre is known as The Palace and that's apparent by its "golden" trim and classy style. The ambience and the food are nice the rest depends on the movie. Lol. read more

Good theater, clean, however, management is lacking. Went there today with my daughter, were too early for the movie, so we went into the arcade. We decided to simultaniously play two games, .75 cents each for a total of $1.50. Both machines ate our money. I then reported ot to the management, who could not comprehend that both machines took our change at the same time. She argued that the game is only .75 cents, so how could it take $1.50!!!! She basically accused me of trying to scam the theater out of $1.50. Of course she did this in the full concession line, which was embarrassing. I never thought $1.50 would break the theater. read more
