Good place to watch an afternoon matinee, especially if the movie is great. My brother, nephew, and I took a couple of hours to drive to the nearby Cinemark in Allen Texas to watch 'Sinners'. Parking was easy, and tickets could be purchased inside (out of the oppressive Texas heat). Tuesday special applied which meant movies all day for $5.50 (if a member of their free club). It is stadium seating, with working recline (even if fully reclined, people are still able to pass through without one having to un-recline). It was a good experience: comfortable temperature, right volume with plenty of bass to get you out of your seat on a jump scare, and a totally enjoyable movie with star power. read more

There's only one way I come to this Cinemark: I either arrive at least 20 minutes early to wait at the concession stand or order everything online and have it delivered to my seat. If you arrive 5-10 minutes before your movie and want to watch the previews, there's a good chance you'll miss some of them because the concession line can easily take 15 minutes or longer. I don't understand why Cinemark doesn't offer self-serve soda machines or a separate popcorn kiosk like AMC and other theaters. I enjoy watching the previews, but I also don't want to order concessions before arriving because Cinemark charges an additional fee for ordering online. Another missed opportunity is seat ordering. If I can order popcorn and drinks for delivery when purchasing my movie ticket, why can't I place that same order from my phone after I'm seated inside the theater? The theater experience itself is enjoyable, but the concession process needs improvement. Self-service options, a separate express kiosk, or the ability to order from your seat would make a major difference. read more

Cinemark Allen needs some attention. Here's what works: great job installing EV charging. Thanks for staying open after a pandemic and creatively offering movies like the Studio Ghibli series. Here are problems to overcome: 1: 30-35 minutes of trailers AFTER the start time. That is not what I paid for. 2: I could hear the movie next to me. It was too loud. Those poor people in that theatre. 3: All the things broken. Seats. The bathroom stalls. The hand dryers. Water fountain. Etc. 4: Online fees. Ugh. I want the cinema to be successful and I realize they are up against a challenge with the industry. But these are fixable issues that persist every time we go. read more

In short, this is one of my favorite locations in the area. Long version- I really enjoy this location because it never seems to be overcrowded. There's a fair number of theaters for your favorite shows AND the seats have a great recline. They each come with their own table for snacks but there are no seat warmers (which can be a bummer for some). The bathrooms always feel clean and the concessions are very consistent. Sometimes the employees are a little young and lack the hutzpah some might seek but it's only a minor tick on the scale. Overall, great spot and fair prices for the area. Movies are back strong. Now let me qualify that. Even during the pandemic I didnt quit going to the theater. I saw a lot of movies sitting in the dark auditoriums of the area theaters face lit up by the huge screen I love so much. The flow of movie releases has improved immesurably as has the flow of people. Im glad because this means this industry wont go away anytime soon. We normally go to a different theater but it didn't have any seats available and really wanted to see the movie Reagan so we chose this theater. Midway through the movie the screen started messing up and I went to talk to the manager. He said he would look into it. So when I went back in the theater the talking was off and nothing was ever fixed. They did give us vouchers and said sorry but would have like them to fix the movie last night. Some people don't go to the movies all the time and the one time they go they would like for it to work. Cinemark in Allen 16 has been a hit and miss with service. The one time I did late night for a 10pm show and the whole movie theater room was like a sauna. The temperature was at 80 degrees and I kept having to go out and tell them to turn it down but it would go back up and everyone in the room was starting to complain it was high. Sadly it was during winter season and most people were wearing sweats and sweaters . There was only one staff that was working during the late night shift as well. read more

Thought this theatre would be nice and clean like all of the others, but it's horrible! It seems like it's run by a bunch of teenagers with no management around. Floors were sticky by the concessions which was gross. I haven't felt sticky floors ever since I left New Orleans at an old run down theatre when I was a teenager at least 2 decades ago. I'm sure Covid could prob thrive on that floor. Popcorn was underwhelming and there was no extra butter access, prob due to Covid, which is fine, but at least signs would have been helpful vs everyone looking stupid trying to press the extra butter button. The bathrooms haven't been tended to and one of the toilets just kept on running from before my movie to after it was over, even after someone reported it to the front desk. Caught a Christmas Eve early show, West Side Story. Thought the theater was clean and comfy - adjustable lounge seats. My only complaint was how slow the concession stand was. Haven't been to this theater in years. Finally we were excited to see a movie for my husband's birthday. Didn't know we would have to be swatting bugs away during the movie-the XD room 15. Like WTH. Plus, for a short person, the wall was too high in front of the seats. My recline did not work, but that is a good thing because really would not have been able to see screen. Disappointed after waiting so long to go back to the theater. PLEASE get rid of the bug problem!!!!! From reading other reviews, seems like it has been going on for a long time. Went to watch Jumanji with the family at this Cinemark. Most of the other Cinemark locations were sold out for this movie. The experience at this location was not what I had expected of a Cinemark chain. The theater was filthy with food on the lounge chairs/floor from before and everything was sticky yikes. They really need to put some effort to keep this place clean. My family and I did enjoy the movie regardless of the uncleanliness. I feel bad giving negative feedback but they need to maintain a certain standard. Especially now with all the virus scare, these theaters need to do their part to prevent spreading things we don't need. Next time you're in the theaters make sure to let them know if the theater has not been properly cleaned out. I sure will. On a positive note, watching movies in the theaters is always fun, which I'll continue to do so in better theaters. read more

Watched creed on Turkey day. Surprisingly it was not busy. Got the popcorn bucket and soft drink cup. So that concession purchase wasn't bad. I do the connections barcode scan to earn points towards not much. Sucks that points expires. The app is not very user friendly. Took me a bit to figure out. Not much on discounts either. Food is over priced. Hotdogs shouldn't cost 4 to 6 dollars. I can get a meal at McDonald's for those prices and get more for my money. It's fun going to a theater, not fun when u fork out 40 to 60 dollars for a family of 4. FYI We can eat at chilli's for around $45. read more

Im a cinemark platinum movie member and have never been treated as rudely as I have today at this location. I have never in all the years I've been a cinemark member have asked for my bag to be checked over a bottle of water. I usually just carry it in. I'm not sure if I was singled out because of the movie i was going to see, but it appeared that was why. My friend with me said, it's just water and if you're the manager, you could just let it go. He said, yes I could, but you'll need to pour it out. Needless to say I drank it, but I will never be back to this location. It's not always what you say but how you say it. Very rude. I took the kids to watch Doctor Strange 2 (theater room 2) this past week (May 17, 2022) and our experience was unsatisfactory. Unfortunately, we had flying bugs bother us throughout the entire movie showing. We were swatting these bugs continuously. We should have gotten up and left but my kids really wanted to finish the movie. Afterwards I spoke to the manager about the overall experience. He first seemed quite surprised as I described to him this bug problem. He then corrected me and stated that they do have a moth problem and have done everything to correct it but it still seems to be present. Regardless, I was shocked given we had heard of this issue back in 2019 and it seems that it was still a problem. Some type of information should have been presented to incoming users that this was a potential problem. We refused the ticket refund given the overall disgust in the overall experience, luckily we had not paid full price for tickets given it was a Tuesday. I told him that we would not be returning. This was a great place to watch the movie. The theatre had the Luxury lounge chairs which are these nice leather chairs that can recline to almost a laying down position. The theatre was cleaned before walking in to seats showing diligence and the service was above average. Screen and sound matched perfectly to enhance the viewing experience. read more

The 4:00 Barbie show was great except for the couple on row C -seats14 & 13 that decided to bring a Toddler to a PG13 movie. The child cried, tried to reach for my sons popcorn and the parents put a movie on their phone to keep him entertained- yes, the bright phone is on while we watch the movie. I've been going to this theater on and off for the last couple years. No particular reason for the "off" times, just chose to see a movie somewhere else. I've always been pleased with the overall movie going experience here, but never really thought that it stood out as being particularly amazing. I can't comment much on the actual theaters; I'm usually too engrossed in the film that I'm watching to notice if the seats recline or not. Also not a big concessions gal, so I can't comment on the superior/inferior quality of the popcorn. What I do know is that I enjoy being at this theater, without having a great explanation as to why. It's always been a comfortable cinematic experience for me. If I'm going to a movie in the Allen area, you can be sure that this theater is in our movie going rotation. read more

I used to really enjoy this place back in 2013 but it seems like it hasn't been renovated for awhile. My boyfriend and I bought tickets to see Puss in Boots & stopped to get some snacks at the concession stand. The prices were OUTRAGEOUS. The two tickets alone were $30... fine but 2 SMALL slushies (that are maybe $1 each at 7/11) and $8 or $9 mozzarella sticks for a grand total of $47. Walk into our theater and as we're watching the movie, there's bugs flying around. My bf and I started to share the mozzarella sticks and... they were just plain gross.. and they smelled pretty bad. I kept smelling them through out the movie and at first, I thought the smell was coming from the person next to me.. We would've been better off just waiting to stream this movie at home. I wish I had read this reviews before we bought tickets. we normally go to the theater on Hardin. if I could give this theater a zero, I would. we ordered the popcorn ahead of time and when we picked it up, it was dry and stale. The theater was hot- you can barely feel the AC. the screen does not look clear. the picture was terrible and there were bugs everywhere! bugs flying in our faces, bugs all over the screen while the movie was playing. one of the toilets in the women's room was going nuts and wasting so much water but there was not a Manager anywhere. From the long concession line, then waited over 30 mins for a hotdogs to be delivered. I do not plan to return to this location anytime soon. Walking into the theater the trashcan was full from the previous showing, which let me know they did not bother to clean the theater in between showings. I love the Cinemark brand, just not impressed with this theater cleaning and speed of service. I have to call and find out when my hotdog would be delivered since they were out of them and Pizza at the concession stand. read more
