    Tinseltown movie theatre entrance

This was the first movie house in the Knoxville metro area to offer stadium seating, and it's still a superior place to see a movie. Seats are comfortable, their technology is up-to-date (I saw Avatar there in 3-D), everything seems to be clean and well-maintained, the box office is efficient, and the parking lot is reasonably well-lighted and patrolled regularly by mall security. Also, ticket prices are low by big-city standards and even by Knoxville standards (highest price is $8 -- for adults on Friday and Saturday night), and showings are almost never sold out. The one drawback I'm aware of is that there can be long lines at the concession stand.

They do a good job here. It's nice, with all the lights, murals, the fanfare and awe. Your customer service experience will be pleasant. Bathrooms are small and so are theaters. But everything is clean. And quaint. On the flip side, your movie experience will be just fine. No 'wow'ing with the sound system here with explosions, car chases, or movie soundtrack anthems. Your big explosion scene will sound like a small microwave popping popcorn. Try to go elsewhere for your big blockbuster film if you are looking to be wow'd. All in all, it's a small but safe bet. If it weren't for the stale popcorn I'd come here more often.

Cheap matinees, clean theaters. I don't want to give this too much of a rave in fear that everyone from the pinnacle will start coming here!

The lobby is still a bit outdated but they make up for it in the actual theater spaces.

My four nights have been excellent. Great customer service, my room was ready when I arrived on Monday. I was comfortable and slept very well all week. We had a little excitement this afternoon when a power outage hit the area. Blackout generators kicked in to run the AC and lights. However, no internet. The outage lasted a couple of hours. I also love the close proximity to restaurants, coffee shops and shopping stores in the area. Everything I need is right here. Enjoyed my stay and will stay here again if I ever return to Y-12.

Every other hotel where I've stayed around the country is willing to check you out early WITHOUT penalties as long as you check out on time. I have never experienced a hotel that charges a penalty if you end your job early and check out early. My employer will now be forced to pay for the full stay of my original reservation, and hotel management will not budge on this policy. I will be posting this negative review on various review sites as this will probably not be allowed to be posted on Marriott's website or this hotel's website. I stay in hotels around the USA constantly as I travel full time for work. Needless to say, will not be staying at this location again, and I will recommend my coworkers do not stay at this location when traveling to Oak Ridge, TN.

I guess I am spoiled with a hometown children's museum of play.. I am so glad we went in to give it a chance, the employees here are wonderful. Very welcoming. The exhibits are diverse and many hands on touch this or that ability. There were some dated videos of the Appalachian culture but honestly it gave it an appeal and definitely a time gone by. The exhibits and explanation of the Manhattan project were very interesting. All of us walked away learning a lot about oak ridge and that era around world war 2. We spent a good two hours in the museum and didn't read it all, we happened to be walking in right before a school group of 30 little kids and parents. Initially it was loud but there was enough space that we didn't have to be around all the chaos real little kids bring. Some of the exhibits were geared for smaller kids but our 2nd grader had no problem enjoying the experience. I mean who doesn't love a "doll house" that has two levels, For the price and exhibits I would suggest it to anyone especially if you have a history buff in your family.
