This theater isn't glitzy and super new and modern like the theater in Turkey Creek. However, the prices at Tinseltown are awesome (much cheaper than other local spots) and the seating is amazing. This is a smaller theater with less screens, but the amazing seating is an appreciated surprise in this smaller city. The lobby is still a bit outdated but they make up for it in the actual theater spaces. There are pleather, electric reclining seats that have cushy seats and armrests and have the spacious stadium seat setup that makes no head large enough to block your view (and good for distancing, if that's a consideration for you). This was the perfect spot to bring my kids for their first movie theater experience. The armrests move upward if you need some cuddle action with your kids or your honey. :-) Check online to see how many people have purchased tickets, pick your own seats for purchase, and definitely check out the discounted tickets on Tuesdays. read more

By far, the best theater in Knoxville because the seats are comfy and recline. The only downsides are no XD or large format screens, and since I was spoiled going to Cinemark HQ theaters in Plano, TX, this one lacks the freshly popped Kettle Korn I knew and loved. But, I am thankful to have a Cinemark here - for Regal to be HQ in Knoxville, their theaters are awful. I wish Cinemark would build a new theater for Maryville with XD and Kettle Korn - it would be so awesome! read more

I've never had a worse experience at a theater. There were roof repairs going on over our auditorium and possibly others during our entire evening viewing. I have no idea what they were working on, but there was loud banging and drills/drivers. I couldn't even focus during the first half because of how loud it was. They were banging so hard you could hear debris crumbling from the roof onto the dropped ceiling. You could see everyone else in the auditorium reacting when it was especially bad and one couple even got up and left a third of the way through. I know that the repairs may have been emergency repairs and not planned maintenance, so they may not have been able to block off the day in advance. With that said, there is NO excuse for not letting people know before they bought/showed their tickets. Refunds should have been offered before people entered and warnings should have been given to anyone buying tickets at the door. We were attending a special event that was only in select theaters for a few days and drove 45 minutes to get there. We still would have accepted the refund and driven right back home with less disappointment than we feel now. Simply put, they showed zero regard for their customers who chose their theater to spend their hard earned money at. While I will not be returning myself, I make this review in the hopes that they will improve for the next customer. read more

Movie theater is good for the most part but the employees are rude, especially the little asshole out front in the admissions box! Doesn't greet you, doesn't speak to you at all! Just stares at you! Then when you got questions he mumbles and rolls his eyes or shrugs you. read more

This was the first movie house in the Knoxville metro area to offer stadium seating, and it's still a superior place to see a movie. Seats are comfortable, their technology is up-to-date (I saw Avatar there in 3-D), everything seems to be clean and well-maintained, the box office is efficient, and the parking lot is reasonably well-lighted and patrolled regularly by mall security. Also, ticket prices are low by big-city standards and even by Knoxville standards (highest price is $8 -- for adults on Friday and Saturday night), and showings are almost never sold out. The one drawback I'm aware of is that there can be long lines at the concession stand. read more

They do a good job here. It's nice, with all the lights, murals, the fanfare and awe. Your customer service experience will be pleasant. Bathrooms are small and so are theaters. But everything is clean. And quaint. On the flip side, your movie experience will be just fine. No 'wow'ing with the sound system here with explosions, car chases, or movie soundtrack anthems. Your big explosion scene will sound like a small microwave popping popcorn. Try to go elsewhere for your big blockbuster film if you are looking to be wow'd. All in all, it's a small but safe bet. If it weren't for the stale popcorn I'd come here more often. read more

Our favorite theater in the area. We're frequent moviegoers and always find this theater well worth the money. The staff are extremely nice, capable and helpful. The theater is clean, we've never experienced a single projection glitch and the reserved seating and heated recliners are wonderful. Once I forgot a brand new, expensive coat and they were supremely helpful in keeping it safe until I drove all the way back for it. These folks rock. read more

This was my first time visiting, and I was pretty impressed. This theatre offers the full reclining experience - and with heated seats?! I'm definitely sold. While this location does not feature a full menu, they do have an impressive candy selection along with the typical movie fare: nachos, popcorn, icees. The picture was great and the ticket price was not to bad (Roughly $11 for a prime time recliner showing). Also, this theatre is compatible with Movie Pass - another win! -1 star due to the fact that only one concession line was open, which made getting snacks a bit of a hassle. read more

This theater is my preferred place to watch film when funds are low and I don't want the Friday Night high school crowd. Cinemark's Tinseltown Cinema is located on W Main Street in the middle of the desolate wasteland that is the Oak Ridge Mall. Located near America Museum of Science and Energy the movie theater seems to be perpetually surrounded by construction. Tinseltown USA is a clean little theater but seems to always be understaffed. The theaters, bathrooms and lobby are clean. The large popcorn isn't proportionally the largest in the area nor is it the best deal. The popcorn is hot and fresh, never stale. If I'm ever in the area it is my go to theater. read more

Bought our tickets online, reserved our seats, and our movie night was ruined; as our seats were already taken. Management done nothing in the way of correcting the issue and removing the people from our seats, instead they offered us another showing, it was unavailable, we practically had to beg for a refund. They also didn't offer us anything for the concessions we had purchased; sorely disappointed... We will never use this theatre again, and honestly, I'm saddened that we have used it in the past. read more

This is my go-to place to see new releases. It's about 20 minutes from me but you can't beat the $5 ticket price and the place is clean and quite. Good staff and empty theaters during the day are a real bonus. Parking isn't great but you can't have it all. read more

Don't bother spending your money here. Their audio systems are absolutely terrible. I've given them a couple of tries, and the audio just plain sucks every time. I've had problems where one speaker was playing what was supposed to be background music so loud you couldn't hear any of the dialogue. Today only the front right speakers were working, so you missed the entire effect of the audio - it ruined the movie. They need to upgrade to real, modern audio systems. This stuff is on par with the crappy discount theaters. read more

A real hidden gem tucked away is a nice quaint little town not too far from Knoxville. As others have said, prices at this theater are very reasonable and cheap. One of the best places to see a movie in the area. With it being in Oak Ridge, it's usually not super busy and overcrowded. They play all the big movies, and, as an added bonus, they have recliners in the theater. Over all it's a really cool spot. All the amenities of a good movie theater, without all the hustle and bustle of fighting through 4523 people to get to your seat or to refill your popcorn. When this place first opened several years ago, it was pretty nice, but since then a super amazing flagship theater for regal cinemas opened up a few minutes away, and doesn't really compare. Their screens and theater are smaller than what I've been pampered to. But, they keep current titles and have lower ticket prices than the newer theaters. Great place for kids parties. read more

Our favorite cinema when in town! Tinseltown has enough theaters to carry a good selection of movies but not so many that they have to price through the roof. In fact they're one of a few select cinemas that still offer early bird specials and $5 Tuesdays. Plus if you get the cinemark app and make use if cinemode, you can quite often get a good deal on concessions to boot. With Regal now charging 'entertainment tax' or in reality 'thievery money' we seldom go anywhere else. Comfy seats, fresh popcorn and friendly, helpful staff. For as long as I can remember, going to the movies was a special and grand occasion for me and my family. This is the theater we've always gone to. The service is good. The place is decorated to the nines. The concession stand always has great food, but it wouldn't hurt to update the selection. Every seat in the theater is the best seat in the house. I would highly recommend coming here with your families or just to see a good flick whenever. read more

Brought the family for a movie a few weeks ago. Part of the way through the movie there was a power outage & the facility was evacuated. We had of course paid for our tickets (5 of us). Instead of refunding our money the manager gave us a pass that he said was good for any movie including 3D, etc. There were no exclusions listed on the pass. Brought my family back to see Star Wars today with our passes & could not use them. Had to pay again! Wouldn't you know there are exclusions that you are told about only when you come back! I have run a business for 30 years. If I told people one thing to get their money, then told them another when they came back, I would not have any customers left. Don't think I'll be taking my family back again. You can keep my money, but you'll not get it again. Lesson learned. read more
