We came here for an early showing of the new Mario brothers movie. A surprise early birthday present for my daughter. Man it's been a few years since I've been to a movie and the upgrades are pretty cool! I went online to get tickets and you choose your seats now, which I so appreciate. And I had an old paper coupon and it was so easy to apply the coupon online! I was also able to download the tickets to my phone, so it was a breeze getting in when we arrived. The concession girl was so nice, our coupon included two drinks and a regular popcorn. We order a second bag of popcorn and I asked her to split it into two bags. She was so nice she did this for me and added butter to both bags! Hilariously we were the only 3 people in the entire theatre so we could have sat wherever we wanted. The seats were ok, it was awesome that they reclined, but the cushions were a bit worn out and could use more padding. But otherwise it was an awesome experience. read more

This has been my goto movie theatre for 30 years, and I am happy to continue to support it. The VIP is great - as good, if not better than the Landmark theatre. The only problem is the popcorn. Terrible! I went to Landmark the day after seeing a movie at this theatre, and the difference in the popcorn is shocking. Landmarks' is great - buttery, salty ...good! North Common's popcorn is flat tasting, no salt and although I asked for layered butter, it didn't seem to be. Please improve the popcorn, because it's already tough to compete with a new theatre, you have to be at the top of your game on everything! read more

Alright i've been going here for years and years. Is it because it's the best movie theatre in town? Absolutely not. It's because it has parking, is close to where I need to be and there's a bubble tea place in the parking lot. The theatre usually has employees that are really not excited to have to be there. The popcorn is hit or miss. Either it's good or it's in small tiny little kernels that stay stuck in your teeth for a week. Yes I floss.... The theatre constantly has problems. The employees can't even be bothered to turn on the pre-show. We can HEAR it, but we cannot see it. Do I want to get up and find an unenthusiastic employee and get them to fix the issues? No. One time I walked into the theatre, they didn't even turn the lights on. Old men were falling down the stairs. It was PANDEMONIUM. This old man with a cane struggled to get to the 7th row up. The employees must have thought that was hilarious. It was kind of funny but tragic Another time they started the movie fifteen minutes early. Let it run for 23 minutes and then a very unimpressed employee walked in and said "obviously it started early. We are gonna let it run again." It was for that awful fantastic beasts 3 movie that had that CGI deer antelope thing die. I teared up to that. Then they made me watch it again. That's pretty evil. Not only was the movie bad, but I had to succumb to more of it. Look, go here if you like to park somewhere and drink bubble tea. Don't go if you are expecting to have a good time. There's almost always an issue so I don't ever have that much fun. Oh there's a mucho burrito outside too. Now that place is a banger. 1.7 stars if that was possible. Keep it real. read more

I don't go to see movies often so when I went to buy my tickets, I was pleasantly surprised that I could select my seat in advance. I don't know if this is a new feature but it was appreciated as we were seeing a recently released film and the upper part of the theatre was almost full. It was nice to go in a few minutes before show time and not have to find a bunch of seats together. The guy working the box office was nice and patient with us too. The seats were comfortable and I like the ability to lean back. The floors were sticky and theatre wasn't the cleanest but it's tough to clean well in between shows. The bathroom seemed older and floors sticky too. The theatre was alright and if I'm in the area again, I would see a movie here. read more

A decent cinema. No complaints they have self serve ticket dispensers right at the front so no need to queue up for tickets. They have a few food options and the usual combo deals. I've seen a few movies here, the bigger screen rooms are spacious, seats are comfy, modern and rock back for your comfort. The smaller screens offer the same seats and even some D Box rows but there is only one aisle so lots of people moving in and out if you are sat near the aisle. My fave thing about this place is Poptopia in the hallway. Those popcorn flavours are the bomb. This cinema offers D Box for new releases. read more

Everything the hunnybunny and I want in a modern cinema experience the Cineplex Odeon North Ed has: copious parking, bright projectors, comfortable seats, clean washrooms, huge tubs of popcorn with butter-like lubricant, other poor-choice food options in the theatre (and in the surrounding mall), and the ability to pre-purchase tickets online. The few times we've had issues the management has come to the rescue, although sometimes with a bit of cajoling. We'll return (tomorrow, actually). read more

Really felt like a VIP! Booked VIP seats online; liked being able to reserve our seats. Great service in the theatre and the reclining seats are very comfortable. We had supper in the VIP lounge afterward. Really nice decor and comfortable. Great menu selection and food was quite good and well-priced. Service was quite good but had to wait to settle the bill (server said due to machines being busy.). The manager came to our table to introduce herself. I think that they are really trying to give a great guest experience and we were very pleased with their effort. It seems like Northwest Edmonton has been short-changed in restaurants and services and I applaud Cineplex for upping their game here. We will be back! read more

I come here when certain movies will not be playing in my nearby theatres. Nothing too different from most theatres, this place a arcade area like others but a bit bigger. It can be busy depending on events or new movies playing. The food is quite expensive, so try to dine out first or after the movie. Unless your super hungry then you can eat there but I recommend eating else where to get your money's worth. Besides all that, enjoy your movie. Atmosphere is theatre like for the public plus posters of upcoming movies. Washrooms are well kept, parking is big, and staff is friendly. Recommended for movie goers, or groups or friends or family. But please be respectful of other people, don't kick their seats when watching or speak lots during the movie. It ruins the whole experience of being in the movie itself. read more

First time back to this one in over a year (had free tickets), as I have made the St Albert Landmark my go to one now. Seats definitely need replacing as some are just fixed up with duct tape! This one is still better than the WEM one since these seats can recline back. But man, I realized how much more I now love the Landmark Cinema in St Albert, with much nicer and comfortable lazy boy seatings, and tickets a bit cheaper or the same as here. Noticed the new adults only VIP area, so maybe one night check it out at least once. Otherwise I wouldn't come back here unless had free tickets again. read more

Near and dear to us this location has great parking, awesome seating, part rooms and has never let us down for family days or date nights! Video games keep the kids amused, restaurant food keeps the hubs happy and I can't ever get enough of the popcorn. The only drawback for this location is no VIP which forces us to leave our comfort zone and go to the south end of town. read more

I am definitely not one to complain, this is just for the owners to be aware of customer experience so they can implement new training. But my husband and I went to go see Megan last night, we showed up an hour early to get a few drinks and eat in the lounge & we waited over 15 minutes for our first round of drinks (there was only like 3 other tables seated) then our waiter kept forgetting what drinks we ordered for the second round. We got the calamari & it was soggy and a little sour & we had to ask for the dipping sauce because it was forgotten. All of our drinks were inconsistent (tasted different every time we ordered the same drink) & when in the theatre we had to chase down a waiter to order. The pizza was undercooked & really sweet (my husband ended up getting sick) my tenders were alright. But for a quarter of a grand date night the quality & service should be held to a better level. read more

Saw "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse" here in 3D, and it was unquestionably the very worst 3D experience I've ever had in a theater. The polarized lenses of 3D glasses mean that the brightness of the image is divided, and a reduced light level enters each eye separately. For 3D to appear to be as bright as a 2D experience, the bulb in the projector needs to be much brighter. The projection equipment at this theater was extremely poor quality. I have a hard time believing that it was even bright enough to project an ordinary 2D image. The picture was very, very dim, and at the edges appeared entirely gray. It was like watching a movie through a dirty sheet. Never returning to this theater for any reason. read more

I went to this theatre for the first time this past weekend. It looks just like every other Cineplex Odeon I've ever seen. One thing that was different was the lights inside the lobby. They have spotlights in the floor so if you happen to look down while you're walking towards the exit, you will be blinded. I actually got a huge headache from them. I was not impressed. There was also a bunch of drama at the theatre when I went - and I'm not talking about the movies that were playing. Three guys got kicked out of the theatre for trying to start a fight! They brought a security dog in and everything! Not exactly how I pictured my date night. I was glad to see that security was on top of things though. I saw a movie in the VIP area and it was an experience well worth the extra ticket cost, as well as the travel time to get here. The seats are extremely comfortable, with lots of leg room, and they not only recline but have an adjustable headrest. The menu has a full offering of drinks and food, mostly stuff you'd find at a better pub like pizza, burgers, chicken tenders, and various kinds of finger foods. I had the chicken tenders, which had five huge tenders (which could have been hotter) and a large order of fries. The fries were crispy and excellent. I also tried the mini perogies, which were well-seasoned and had a nice cheddar and potato filling. Popcorn and candy is also served by waitstaff, who were very friendly and helpful in showing us how to use the functions on the recliners. Best of all: no kids. The theatre is small, the bar is right outside, as are the washrooms. This was definitely a fun experience and I would come here again for sure. read more

Currently my favourite cinema to visit in the city, possibly aided by the fact it's where I went to see the glory that is Rogue One twice. I've been here a few times over the last year and never had an issue getting tickets for a movie, service is always quick and friendly. In terms of snacks they have all the usual movie going fair, hotdogs, nachos, popcorn. The popcorn is a favourite of mine as they have a separate stall selling a huge selection of flavours (Chicago mix for me!). In the theatres themselves the seats are comfy and you're able to recline a bit if you so choose. Great picture house. read more

So they took my order had to wait for someone to then come tell me they can not give me a Caesar salad as the Romanian lettuce is being recalled.wHy are the severs not aware of this before taking orders . Then watched a bar tender touch everything while making my drink while adding fruits and other items by hand . He also did not wash his hands as I observed the whole time . Yea, I'll come here to watch a movie that isn't playing anywhere else in the city and for which, the next best option is Sherwood Park. It has the feel of an Odeon so much so that like robots we know exactly where the washrooms are. I don't like cookie-cutter multiplexs but I can live with it because the quality is there. The seats are good, the screens work good. All bolts and screws are tight and the machine is well oiled. Well, perhaps not everything is well oiled. The teenage kids serving pop and snacks seem a little lost. The crowds are mostly family oriented. Hey - does anybody else in Edmonton feel like we're missing out on an 18+ movie theatre? I'm not talking about adult movies, I'm talking about a theatre for adults. Possibly with a bar on site and Thursday nights accompany your drink in to the movie hall kind of thing. I love going to the cinema this is my go to as it's the closest one. It's clean it's comfortable it has good popcorn and frozen ice-cream! I have a scene card and love building points and getting free movies, I enjoy TimePlay before the film starts. This location has an arcade inside to and I see they do Birthday parties I have not used these facilities. The parking is plenty full and it's in a common so there are eateries around they also offer fast food in the cinema if you wanted. read more

It's a theatre. The seats are average in the regular auditoriums, but definitely better if you're seeing something in Ultra AVX. The people who work the concession need work. It's always slow and it seems like they don't know what's going on. I've seen someone at the till I'm waiting at go all the way to the other end of the counter for popcorn when there appears to be some right behind them... Maybe there's some sort of "pop corn protocol" I'm not aware of. One other thing that bugs me is the tendency of the staff to occupy the limited seating in the cafe area during their breaks. I would have thought they would have some sort of staff area in a facility that large. It was particularly evident before "The Hobbit" early premier when there were a lot of people looking for a place to hang out and wait for the theatre to clear. Half the tables were taken up by staff on break. None of these things will stop me from going here, obviously, because there's not a lot that can be done about it. They're not real detriments, and the same can be said for most of the standard theatres in the city. read more

This cinema gets the job done, but it is in need of a facelift. My pet peeve is dirty bathrooms. I've coma a few times where they are clean but for the most part they're dirty and falling apart with chipped paint and crumbling tile on the floor. You think with what a movie cost they could afford to do some upgrades. Parking can also be a pain. On the upside seats are decently comfortable in all the theaters. Service is fast in the ticket and food line. Popcorn is always fresh and if not they'll get you a fresh bag. read more

This is a pretty standard Cineplex Odeon Cinema. It offers the usual mix of features that one might expect in a movie theatre. I had forgotten how much I like this theatre. Go through the normal line-up, or if you're savvy, purchase your own tickets on one of the manual machines (but be warned, there's often at least one out of order). It's a huge building, with tons of theatres and tons of seats in each theatre. I also appreciate that the sound doesn't bleed between theatres. I can be watching the new Jake Gyllenhaal flick and I don't have to hear Tron next door. Solid! (Literally.) If you're here early for the newest blockbuster, there's a bunch of games to play or vendors to eat from. The popcorn is expensive, like a most mass theatres. But try the frozen yogurt. Seriously! I can't recall having a problem with audio or video here. Maybe once? But I think the staff fixed it ASAP. Definitely a good place to take in a movie any night of the week. read more

Cineplex Odeon North is my favourite theatre in the whole city. I actually like getting here early, so I can play some games in the arcade. Last time I wasted like $8 trying to win a DVD movie or video game--beware: this game makes you feel like you're REALLY close to winning each time. The snacks here are so so so expensive, but it's pretty much like that at every big theatre. I do like the popcorn here--it's definitely healthier than they used to make it. You can also get frozen yogurt and slushes here too. I find the actual theatres awesome. The seats are super comfy, and since all the aisles slant upwards, you never have to worry about someone's big head getting in the way. One time the theatre I was in was really hot and smelly. After the movie, the staff passed out 1 free movie pass to everyone--that was cool. read more

I bought a medium drink and was charged for a large. When I got the fifty cents back I found out I was out 200 points. I then had to wait on the phone for one hour to get my points back. They should hire honest people at the concession. Also in the theatre a man with work boots on October 9th purposely tripped me almost breaking my neck. I was going to the washroom and he refused to moved at all. This was the 1pm showing of Venom. There are very rude men here. read more

Good things about this theatre: it's big so lots of movies are showing. If you miss what you cane for you can probably find another. There's lots of concessions and seems to be lots of staff so I haven't had to wait long for goodies. Tons of parking. Lots of goid reataurants right nearby if you want to do lunch or dinner and a movie. Moxies, famoso, tony roma, mucho burrito, a chinese buffet and chucky cheese. The seats tilt back and lots of leg room. Down side: the bathrooms could use a bit more regular maintenance. It's your typical big theatre, I think prices are a little better than some of the newer theatres that have more perks. read more

Went to a 6:20 show and it was well over half an hour late starting. A manager did come in, after the trailers and ads had been playing and replaying with no images for quite a while, and said they were trying to fix it. After a very long wait, the feature did play. But I think something should have been done to compensate us -- free popcorn for everyone or a ticket voucher. For the price of the movie, we shouldn't have to wait. Also I had bought a concession voucher with my tickets from the automated ticket machine, only to get stuck in the popcorn line behind 3 people who all used debit. It I am using an automated service which saves them time, shouldn't there be a voucher line to reward me for picking that option? read more

As far as theatres go this is right up there with the rest. Nothing new or fancy or special just your run of the mill theatre. Saw Django Unchained on a Sunday morning and it wasn't too too busy. Guess people still go to church instead of worshipping the big screen. E!News and Perez Hilton may disagree but this theatre was quiet and free off too many silver screen parishioners. It's a good theatre. No reason not to go again. read more

This theatre Is our go-to theatre when we are heading to the movies. It's close to home, which is why we go here. The theatres are relatively clean and updated. It's nice to have the reclining chairs! This place could definitely use some TLC. Although it's generally clean when you walk in, one step into the bathrooms here make you wonder how the rest of the place looks new but no one thought to upgrade the bathrooms. They always seem to be dirty or out of supplies, and I wish they would stay on top of it better. We generally get the Poptopia popcorn, and it's definitely hit or miss. Some days the flavours are amazing and the popcorn seems to be fresh. Other days, you're in for the worst snack of your day. Any time we have gotten regular popcorn, though, it's always been hot and fresh - The way popcorn should be. I know that they offer birthday parties here, for those who may be looking for a new idea for their kid's next party. The staff here can be just like Poptopia - Hit or miss. I find that the older crew members are friendlier, where the young ones you usually end up dealing with on the weekends seem like they just don't care. read more

A solid theater. Not quite as good as the the South Common one, but better than the sherwood park one. AND much much better than the downtown one. DEFINITELY not as good as the Windemere VIP Worth coming here if you're geographically close to it than the South unless you are heading to Windemere. read more

This is my go to Cineplex. It's easy to get to from where I live and they always have a good enough selection of films playing. In one word, it's convenient. They have a huge parking lot so finding parking is easy even though you may have to walk further sometimes. The snacks are always pretty standard and up to par. What I take away stars for is the customer service/cleanliness. Ive been to a few movies where the screen was completely black until the feature film started which meant that we all missed out on time play. When we notified someone that the voices were coming through but the picture wasn't, we were told it happens and it'll be on when the film starts. They also seem to employ people who just don't want to be there. It leaves a bad taste in your mouth when you get your popcorn with a side of attitude. I will still come here but I hope they can keep the theatre clean, working, and employ people who actually have good customer service. read more

My wife and I have been to the VIP theaters here a few times and absolutely love it!!!! The food, and drinks are reasonably priced and are really good. The lounge is really comfortable and I love that I can order drinks and have them sent to my seat or bring them with me to my seat. Speaking of seats, the vip theater seating is fantastic! Powered recline, powered headrest adjust, and also heated Incase you're a little chilly. It's roomy, and very comfortable. The screen and sound in the theater is excellent. The added cost of VIP is worth it in my opinion. My wife and I just love coming here and enjoying a fantastic evening out. Check it out, you won't be disappointed. read more

I like going there, their prices are good. They have 13 screens; 1 DBOX screen (seat moving with action on screen), 2 ultra AVX screens (good sound, big screen and clear image), 6 3D screens and 4 vip screens( comfy seats, they bring food and drinks like beer and wine... to your seat). You can play at each movies on TimePlay app and win prizes. Then you have all those food and drinks stands like a Starbucks, outtakes (They have poutine, hotdogs, nachos...), yoyo's yogurt café (it's all those delicious flavored frozen yogurt that you can top of with whatever you want like candy bars chocolate...), poptopia gourmet popcorn and a pizza 73. If you want a fun night with friends it's totaly worth going there. You can even play in the arcade that they have there. I love the air hockey table it's always a good laugh. read more

This place is not all that great. I want it to be a wonderful experience because it is Cineplex theatre and my expectations are up. The service is fine. The lines for concession are inconsistent in that the staff works quickly enough but I always have to leave myself way too much time to get through the line. In a perfect world there would be one line served by the many like they have for purchasing tickets. This way no one is guessing which line is faster and customers are happier. Mainly me. I would be happier. The bathrooms are always so terrible. They feel older than the rest of the theater and are usually a miss for cleanliness. I go because it is convenient. This place just does not entice me to visit more frequently. read more

I don't really frequent this theater but the odd times that I have I find that it is a pretty bad one. It just seems like they don't run things smoothly here. Getting your tickets takes time and then any food or snacks take even longer. The staff moves rather slowly so it's frustrating. The theater seats are worn out and aren't very comfortable but the video and audio are fine. Another review stated the parking lot as being shady, it is. A lot of car thieves come out at night around here. read more
