Burger was drowning in ketchup so was pretty messy, which is not what anyone wants in a dark theatre! Don't know we'd be back. It makes more sense to go to a proper restaurant before a movie theatre.

I said I bought VIP-$60 for 2 tickets, I thought this was part of the "experience" to have service at our seat!!!???... paid $40 for cold popcorn and 2 pops, 2 candies that arrived 20mins into the movie!!! $100 down the drain... and btw the Movie- the devil wears prada 2 SUCKED!! Our theatre had these amazing big cushy seats, and they were electric foot rests. So very comfortable, probably the most comfortable seats I've ever been in a theatre. It was like rows and rows of lazy boy chairs. It was relatively deserted for a Saturday afternoon, only 6 of us in total in the whole theatre. I was also really surprised that you can now get beer, wine and ciders and take them back to your seats! I can't wait to come back!

Which is probably the biggest reason most people think of this theater as a bit dumpy. That being said I go to the theater a lot, so I do notice that they are slowly making renovations and improvements. The food is pretty consistently mediocre - but rarely is it bad. The frozen yogurt is reliably probably the best. The staff is usually pretty friendly and the theaters are serviceably clean. I go to this theater because it's the closest to me, definitely not because it's the nicest.

And I had an old paper coupon and it was so easy to apply the coupon online! I was also able to download the tickets to my phone, so it was a breeze getting in when we arrived. The concession girl was so nice, our coupon included two drinks and a regular popcorn. We order a second bag of popcorn and I asked her to split it into two bags. She was so nice she did this for me and added butter to both bags! Hilariously we were the only 3 people in the entire theatre so we could have sat wherever we wanted. The seats were ok, it was awesome that they reclined, but the cushions were a bit worn out and could use more padding. But otherwise it was an awesome experience.

It was Sunday night which is Senior's Day and it's great they have deals most days. It wasn't too busy, there were just two people in front of us to buy our tickets and concession had no line. It was nice to be able to select our seats too. The washrooms were clean and there were enough stalls so no line up. The movie poster for our theatre was incorrect, so some people were in the wrong theatre. It was the first evening movie and the theatre was clean and ample leg room. The cup holder was a bit sticky but not bad. Another minor issue was the AC was blowing down throughout the movie and I had my hoodie as I usually get cold in theatres but it was still minor annoyance. Good theatre and would see a movie again here if I was downtown.

The films are of great variety from animals, environment, action, and more! Recently, I went to see Pandas: The Journey Home in 3D. It was a weekday afternoon and there were about 10 others in the theatre. It would be great to see more people watching this film but it was shown a few times that day and has been playing for a while now. The seats are assigned when you buy your tickets. I was really impressed with the renovations of the theatre. I didn't have to hold my seat down which is great for those who have their hands full with snacks. Most of the seats are in the middle with about 4 on the sides. The 3D glasses they gave you are big and sturdy and almost seemed new even though people have worn them. They are much better than the ones I have worn at the regular theatres. If you are a panda fan, this is a must see film! For 40 minutes, we got to see cute and cuddly pandas as they grow from babies at the Wolong Panda Centre in China. There's also a story of a panda preparing and returned to the wild. Love the new IMAX theatre! The price is $13.95 for adults but there's a 10% coupon in the SUTP. The best way to see lots of shows more economically would be to purchase a membership or volunteer! One of the volunteer perks is to get free passes after you've completed certain number of hours and time but it's fun to volunteer here!

The whole experience was wonderful. It was quick and easy to scan our vax passes, and there was literally no line at concession. Once we got into the theatre it was completely empty, only 20 mins before the show started. Eventually one other couple came in and sat down. But that was it, there were 4 people including us in the theatre. We basically got a private screening, so fun!! The movie was incredibly loud, but that may have something to do with the empty theatre as volumes are set for a mostly full theatre. But otherwise is was an awesome experience.

Metro Cinema at the Garneau is an non for profit cinema theatre on 109 ST in Edmonton, AB…read more It's one of my top favourite movie theatre - it is the place to go to see documentary and alternative movies!! There are organized events at the theatre as part of a theme (for example "The Bird Cage," which was part of a drag queen event, or horror night as part of Halloween). Spectators also have the opportunity to come see classic hit movies, ranging from action to science fiction, comedies to family movies. There is a very nice concession, serving popcorn, pop, beers, chocolate and candies. The Garneau is also an art showing venue, which features local artists, photographers, painters and designers. One of my favourite things to do when I go there happens on a weekend, when there are family movies showing, is to sit down in the lobby colouring and drawing pictures of the featured movie. It's so cool !!! It's also an excellent place to meet and talk to people who love movies, especially documentary and alternative cinema!!!
