Our household genuinely puts a lot of effort into first spending our money on M&M Hardware &…read morebusinesses like it whereby being one of our local mom-n-pop family-ran type of stores which everyone should be supporting before the large chain stores However, it came to our attention after having called M&M that there's now some incompetent people working for them. We had previously bought an item from their store, which from a lot of searching, was the only place who had that particular brand and model of it. Since me & my husband are disabled & cant drive 11 miles into town to stop at M&M Hardware to see if they still have the item, we found that M&M has a online site where we can search through their items & purchase them. We ended up not being able to find the item we searched for but like with many other sites that this happens on, we figured it was just a matter of us not using the right keywords for it to come up in the search results. So my husband called their store & a man answered, my husband told him the problem, & the store worker said he knows nothing about their online site. We were shocked that employees wouldn't even know anything about their own website where customers are obviously going to be visiting & would be having at least GENERAL questions that employees should be able to give direct answers. Regardless, the store worker told my husband that he "just needs to come in to the store & can look for the item that way" My husband politely informed of him being paraplegic & unable to navigate his wheelchair into town, & also wouldn't be sensible to drive all the way in to the store just to see if they have an item when a store worker could see if its listed on their own website where we could then view it ourselves & consider purchasing it. Immediately after finishing saying that, the store worker said "cant help you" & then we heard a beep sound whereby shortly afterwards that was followed by the sound of the call having been hung up on us. We tried calling back 3 times until finally someone picked up the phone. It was a lady who we told her of the situation that we just experienced & although she was very polite, she downplayed the instance & then proceeded to tell us that she also didn't know anything about their own website & she would have someone else call us back. Well that issue was never resolved however we did find a few items on their site, placed 3 separate orders, and then had nothing but hassle with the orders. Was able to get a family member to pick up the orders for us. The 1st order was picked up but then we kept receiving notifications for a few days that we need to pick up that order. The 2nd order was picked up and tried to pick up the 3rd order however after our family member got there he was told they have no record of the order. They were even informed of the order showing right on our account at their website and we also have the email confirming the order. We're tired of the hassles, and after we purchase the last couple items that we have to get there because we cant find it anywhere else, we likely wont be buying anything else there

Not to bash them, but it often feels like their staff are not interested in helping me, and I just can never seem to find what I need without googling the item first and locating it myself. I dread going in there. ANYWAY... I recently discovered that I live in quick driving distance from this Ace Hardware location. I was in desperate need of shelf pins for my kitchen cabinets- specially the 1/4 " size. I had looked everywhere for them- Lowe's and Home Depot, multiple locations for both. I even ordered some off of Amazon and the wrong size was sent to me. When I discovered this Ace Hardware, I called them first to ensure they had the size shelf pins I was looking for. To my delight, they answered the phone right away and let me know they had the size I was looking for in stock. I made the short drive there and found exactly what I was looking for and more. I have been to this location 3x since then. Every time I have been greeted with a friendly smile by one of their employees. Honestly, this place is like a breath of fresh air. I am so relieved to have found it and feel so lucky they are so close to my new home. I am a rewards member now and look forward to visiting many, many more times. I went to get the item, they told me they didn't have it and canceled the order but refused to give me my money back. Said it had to come from Corporate and would take 7-10 days. Two full weeks later and I never got my money back. They said I'd have to contact my bank and file a claim. Local store management said they are independent of Ace corporate and could not help me. DO NOT BUY FROM ACE! They take your money, waste your time, won't give you the time and refuse to return your money! You won't have this issue with the big box stores. blatant fraud of a business!
