We had a table of 6 with 3 separate checks and told our waitress before ordering that we had Groupons. She said nothing about an issue at the time, but when it came time to pay, they suddenly refused to honor them. The Groupon clearly states "1 per transaction," not "per table," yet they still wouldn't allow it. It was also supposed to be a birthday dinner, and absolutely nothing was done to acknowledge it. The service was slow and inattentive, and to top it off, they were out of SIX different items on their menu - including coffee! We ended up paying full price for a mediocre meal and still lost the money spent on the unused Groupons that they marked as used. They stated that we coukd use another time but we will NEVER return. We asked to speak to the owner but was told theybwere not there even though q0 min prior the waitress stated that she had to get the owner to redeem groupon. To top ot all.off an insane amount of tip was added and the service wasent worth a penny. This place completely mishandled the situation and showed zero customer care.

There's a great variety of beers and cocktails, and the food is solid. All 9 of us enjoyed our selections so much that I completely forgot to take pictures! The jalapeño gravy is a yearly must for me and never disappoints. Another bonus is the live music outside, usually playing while you wait for your table. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is the service, which has been reliably subpar over the years. No one seems particularly happy to be working, and there's definitely no sense of urgency. Still, the food, drinks, atmosphere, and tradition keep bringing us back!

Such a peculiar restaurant that I got to visit this morning! Krause's Cafe is a lovely restaurant…read moreand beer garden located in New Braunfels. The area is quite spacious - with 3 main areas for dining, and its own parking lot which is fantastic. Even though I was tempted for a good time going in the evening --- or even the weekend --- I had a bunch of errands today and chose rather to go for breakfast when the amount of people is few and the environment is just overall more relaxed. I'm glad I did. For my meal I ordered just one thing the Bauern Schnitzel. This dish is described as a "breakfast specialty featuring a hand-breaded pork schnitzel topped with two eggs and hollandaise sauce. This German-Texan fusion dish is served daily during morning hours and comes with a biscuit alongside your choice of home fries, hash browns, grits, or black beans." Within minutes of my order being placed, my food came out in about 5 minutes -- not too shabby! As you can see from the photo, it looked very appealing. How was the taste? Simply filling and comforting. It was rich, stick to your bones grub that you want every so often. Hash browns were crisp, and the schnitzel was fried perfectly and topped with my over easy eggs. Everything simply worked in unison for a flavorful combination. The biscuit was also something to mention. It was homemade, fluffy, and not dry whatsoever! If I weren't such an introvert, I'd love to visit in the evenings --- as fun as this experience was this morning. The space is beautiful and definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.

The experience far exceeded my expectations, very entertaining and put on by a diverse and devoted group of people, both on and off stage. Tonight's performamce was Miss Bennet, Christmas at Pemberley. It was very entertaining and also very moving, we left the theater with alot to reflect on and think about. We bought our tickets online at www.classictheatre.org

This is a cute little hole-in-the-wall, black box theater that brings an intimate look into the…read moretheatrical productions it produces. The theater itself is attached to the Woodlawn Theater and shares restroom facilities with the Woodlawn. Running a separate series of smaller shows, the Classic Theater offers a theater-in-the-round experience with the audience seated on all sides of the theater which can allow audience interaction with the professional cast. The seating is comfortable, but you'll need the intermission to get up and stretch your legs as the chairs can get a tad uncomfortable. The theater also allows no outside food or drinks, but does have water and wine for donation (at least this was during the show we attended). Overall, the cast was excellent in Midsummer Night's Dream. They brought a refreshing perspective and performance for Shakespeare's work, which truly showed why Shakespeare should be consumed in theatrical form rather than reading, and the acting was intimate and, yet, bombastic at the same time. The cast really showed skill and thought with each word spoken, and they brought the characters to life while leaving themselves behind. With the theater-in-the-round, they worked the entire room as well as made me feel that the show was put on solely for me. I had had that same sense of disbelief in quite a long time during a theatrical production. The quality of the production also showed. Even though it seemed like a relatively low budget affair, it wasn't lacking the quality of a truly great show. My husband and I are already planning our time back to enjoy another production and we look forward to becoming regular patrons of the arts at the Classic.
