Luckily the weather was in the 70s which was really nice for a January day. We drove up and parked easily. We then went to pay the rate for 4 adults, got our clubs, chose our golf balls, and we were off. There were a few people there with families on the course but we basically had the course to ourselves. It was a course with a practice spot and then 18 holes to play. It was very informative and fun. There were stands at each hole with a set of photos and historical information. Plus the actual course had slight slopes, and a few fun obstacles. After golfing we went inside the small museum. There were several artifacts and some historical information to look at and read about. On a side note they have two bathrooms with soap and running water which is a positive. Overall it was a fun afternoon on a nice day. The mini golf course is fun and informative. The museum is small and interesting. If you like history and mini golf this would be a good place to visit and play on a nice day.

Our second stop this afternoon was the Buggy Barn Museum. What a cool place!…read more Frances Anne will greet you when buying your tickets. She has a lot of great stories and is so personable! Then, you wander around this Old West Town with a church, saloon, production office, Texas Rangers Headquarters and jail, mercantile, barber shop, undertaker and more! Some movies were filmed here and many of the buggies were used in films such as True Grit, Lonesome Dove, Hildago, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Slayer and more. There are over 200 unique buggies, carriages and wagons dating from the 1860s - 1900s at the museum. Pistol Packing Paula was our guide and she knows everything there is to know about all the buggies in the museum. By the way, she's a world champion pistol twirler! Such a pleasure to listen to!

Pistol Packin Paula was the highlight of the event for me!! She was a very knowledgeable person about everything in the museum and on top of that we got to see her display her amazing talents of gun slingin and bull whippin!! She made the whole tour very interesting with questions for us and "surprises" in certain buggies that definitely caught us off guard haha. Loved our time together and my thinking of bringing my parents here sometime in the future as they would love this! But my only request is that we get to have Pistol Packin Paula again to show us around!!

There are lots of options for food- they have a concession stand there with hot dogs, snacks, candy and popcorn and such. There is also a food truck you can order from. We got food from both and were pleasantly surprised at the fair prices, portions and taste. My husband also went to the bar/speakeasy and said it was a really cool spot with lots of beverage options. We brought blankets and pillows for the kids in the back of the truck and then some chairs for us. We had plenty of space and it was a perfect night. Either that or she just doesn't smile in life. We had a really good time playing the murder and mystery game even though there were some hiccups, they had to keep taking small breaks throughout the game to fix things. It was their first one though so I get that they are working out the kinks. I definitely want to come back once they have done the game a few times and really have it nailed down. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because I think we were legit ripped off by the bartender. My husband had one old fashioned for $15 and 3 canned beers for $3 each. I had one dirty martini, one Moscow mule and 3 glasses of Pinot noir and our bill , which wasn't presented itemized , came back as $150 which was $170 with tip. The math just doesn't make sense. I've been around long enough In New Braunfels to remember Elizabeth Elliot who started this theatre. Her daughter is now at the helm and on the board of directors . This theatre attracts very talented actors, singers, dancers for performances. They also do a Wurstfest show during the 10 day celebration of all things Wurst. If you check in December they offer package deals where you can pick the shows you want to attend or buy the entire season. Makes a great Christmas gift .

I think the place fits maybe 140ish people at most but every seat is a good one. They offer an array of performances from things we all know and are familiar with to unique pieces. Their latest productions opens in a few weeks and is called Dog sees God (a palindrome). Basically the Peanuts characters are in high school meets Pulp Fiction meets Mean Girls meets breakfast club. We bought tickets and can't wait to see the performance. We most of the cast last night and they are a talented little group of folk. 4 years ago when I was in Austin for my grandson's High School graduation my daughter suggested we…read morego to the Blanco Lavender Festival since she knows I love lavender, the color and the fragrance. A group of us went including two children and 5 adults. We all had a great time. There were lots of Booths to look at selling lots of products. My daughter and I both bought products from a man selling lotions and soaps made from goat milk in 2013 and were disappointed when we went back in 2017 and he was nowhere to be found, either physically or online. We had both hoped to buy more to replace what we had used up. But I'm getting ahead of myself. I came back in June of 2017 for my grandson's college graduation and asked my daughter if she would like to go to the Lavender Festival again. She said yes because she hadn't been since the last time I was in town so the two of us went and as before mentioned were disappointed not to find the goat milk guy. I was also keeping an eye out for the booth of Imagine Lavender Farm which had been there four years ago but never did find any sign of them this trip. I even asked at the information booth and neither name came up on their list of participators. I found a t-shirt for the festival last trip that was on sale because it was a shirt from a previous year but did not find anything like that this time. It would have been fun to buy a lavender t-shirt at the Lavender Festival if they had had one I liked for a good price. I usually try to go through the Lavender Festival twice, the first time quickly and the second time more slowly. I might have bought some lavender lotion or other products from a different vendor since the one I was looking for was not there but my daughter was getting hot, and it certainly was an extremely hot day, so I didn't want to ask her if we could take the time for me to go through again. We had both hoped to find lavender ice cream but did not see any at this year's Festival either. There was lavender lemonade but an extremely long line so we didn't end up getting any. I did get 3 or 4 things when I had the opportunity including some lavender cuticle oil, a jar of spice and s small bag of lavender coffee. If I come back to town in 4 years I'll probably want to come to it again in the hopes that I would find new booths to make up for the old favorites being gone.
