Located on the corner of Highway 86 and S Marina Drive, this travel plaza seems to provide everything that a traveler might need -- fuel and diesel Chevron), tons of food choices and ample dining tables (Pizza Hut, Subway, Cinnabon, Taco Bell, Kentucky Fried Chicken, Yogurtland, Jack in the Box, The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf, Imperial County, and Salton 350 Bar), clean restrooms, a general store with travel necessities, and more. What was particularly interesting about this travel stop was seeing the local culture of the large number of ATVers. Virtually every second truck had an off-highway vehicle (OHV) in its bed or on its trailer. Not being local, we're not sure where they were going to ride, but we speculated that a significant number were headed to the Imperial Sand Dunes. These dunes, in southeastern California, stretch over 40 miles long and average 5 miles wide, and are a popular recreation site. While the travel plaza was easy to access, and had everything that you might need, we've rated it as a 4 rather than 5 because of the chaos of the plaza. All of the gas bays were occupied, with all sorts of vehicles vying for a place -- from motorcycles to OHVs to cars to tanker trucks to 18-wheeler. We chose to park "next door" because of the chaos in front of the travel plaza. It also made it easier to re-enter the highway.

The pump islands are always clean and working. The lights in the canopy are all working so it's well lit a night. Looks like the driveway and parking areas are pressure washed frequently, very clean. The store is always immaculate. Clean floors, windows, drink station. neat and orderly presentation of products. Clean and well lit reefer, plus extra cold refreshments. I placed my order…read moreonline and was charged accordingly. 10 minutes later, I received an email from Grizly saying my order had been canceled. I replied and said I never canceled. Grizly re-instated the order, and 10 minutes later, I get a text saying that my order is running late and the phone number for Prime Fuel if I have any questions. I called Prime Fuel and asked about the order. The lady handed the phone to a guy, and I asked again. He said the lady called and canceled. I said no lady canceled my order. He then said Grizly canceled, and I told them they re-instated the order. He then says we're not delivering there and something about only delivering within a few blocks. The guy then says I'm canceling your order and hung up. I received another email from Grizly saying that Prime Fuel canceled my order, claiming they were unable to deliver due to staff shortages. They lie to people when that doesn't work; they get incredibly rude. This is an example of the average Imperial Valley customer service.
