This is QuikTrip store #1022. It's located just off I-85 exit 58 in Kannapolis, North Carolina…read more It's north of Charlotte and just north of Concord (Concord Mills). This is a good place to fill up between Charlotte and the Triad (Greensboro, Winston-Salem, High Point) and Triangle (Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill). If traveling south past Charlotte and into South Carolina, I recommend waiting to fill up at a QT in South Carolina because the gas prices in South Carolina are better. For example, I drove from North Carolina to Georgia recently and stopped at this QT and then at another QT in South Carolina. The price difference per gallon of premium was $0.30. If traveling southbound, the first QT you'll come across in South Carolina is at I-85 exit 90 in Gaffney. As far as this QT goes, it's good, just like the vast majority of QTs. This one is on the larger side with 20 pumps at the station. The convenience store is Gen 3 (Generation 3, the latest design), which I believe all QT stores in North Carolina are. During my visit, the property was clean and felt safe and the staff was well-trained and polite. Like most QTs, this one was busy, but it wasn't too bad on a Thursday morning at 11:30am. This QT is situated at the entrance to Cloverleaf Plaza (shopping center with Roses, a store from my childhood) and directly across the street from Carolina Memorial Park (cemetery). I've been to a lot of QTs over the past two-plus decades (I'm a fan) and I'm pretty sure this is the first one I've been to that's next to a cemetery.

The car went "bing!" about 30 miles ago so it's time to fill up with gas right now. Fortunately,…read morethis QT appeared as I was thinking about it and so I stopped in. Easy enough access from the roadway with a couple of turns because the station does not have direct access. But the area is wide enough if you're dealing with a larger vehicle. The pump area is well covered. There was no trash and the facility is clean. Trash cans were not full and there were squeegees at each pump. Gas flowed quickly and the receipt printer worked. It was a good fill up today. [Review 14396 overall, 1721 of 2020, number 2721 in North Carolina.]

Before I get to the food, I have to recognize Michelle W. She was absolutely outstanding! She managed multiple customers at once with a smile, kept the line moving efficiently, and made everyone feel acknowledged. Employees like her make a lasting impression. Unfortunately, the food didn't live up to the service. I specifically asked for the brisket to be placed in a container with the bun packaged separately since I wouldn't be eating it until the following day. Other QuikTrip locations have always prepared it this way without any issues. When I opened my bag at work the next day, I found sliced bread with cheese instead of the roll that it is supposed to come with it. Even more disappointing, the amount of brisket was much smaller than what I've consistently received at other QuikTrip locations (posted pictures) Had they used the correct roll, there wouldn't have been nearly enough meat to fill it. The brisket itself still had the great flavor I expect from QuikTrip, but the incorrect order and skimpy portion made this visit a letdown. I hope this location can match the consistency I've experienced at other stores--especially because the customer service from Michelle W. was top-notch. The two stars go to Michelle W. The food that is prepared at sold took away the other three stars I would have given if I got what I ordered.

Even when they are busy it doesn't really feel that way because of the design of the restaurant. The dining room is circular with tables around the outside wall and a dividing wall is in the center of the room to allow more tables against it. The coziness is what makes it feel like there is never a large crowd there. Just a few friends hanging out.

While the staff was friendly, especially explaining the different food options, the speed of the food arrival was not fast. There were a few cars in front of us that were ushered to the side to allow for other guests, with what I assume were dessert orders, to get by. Once we got our food, I of course had to try the fries in the car. They were very good and crispy. Now, the burger on the other hand wasn't bad, but it wasnt anything to brag about. While I was excited to try a burger on sourdough bread, since you aren't given that option very much, it was a little soggy. I understand the drive thru experience is different from in-store eating. Yet, I recently tried Harriet's Hamburgers for take out amd it was great. With that said, Culver's was fine. Yet, I wouldnt go out of my way to try again.
