We stopped at a vineyard along the way and arrived in late afternoon at the immaculate, charming Open Cross Ranch. The owners/hosts could not have been more gracious, and even the beautiful horses were friendly. The guest houses are charming and have authentic ranching antiques collected over years by the family. They include quilts made by the hostess and every amenity you would ever need in the kitchen. We stayed up late sitting around the fire pit wrapped in soft blankets, telling stories, and watching the stars. We came away refreshed and with beautiful pears we were invited to pick from trees gracing the property. I highly recommend this lovely place.

There were also a couple of nice outdoor spaces for guests to hang out. They have a two-bedroom bunkhouse with a nice little front porch and seating, which I'd probably choose next time, especially for a longer stay. Would definitely stay again!

The space was clean; the bed was very comfortable; there was full bath and kitchen (fridge had trouble keeping things cold, never got above 45 degrees so take a good ice chest). The kitchen amenities were perfect for making breakfast and a couple of dinners during our 5 night stay. It was nice to have access to a TV but they do need to replace the swivel head which is broken and the TV is at a 45 degree downward angle. We propped it up with a roll of paper towels!! It worked. The outdoor space around the koi pond is so tranquil and pleasant that my husband and I hung out in our PJ and had coffee every morning. At night it was a great place to take in the stunning night skies. If you time it right you get ti watch Karen feed the giant koi Karen was very good at guiding us to the wineries and I can't thank her enough for recommending the Sonoita winery whose MeCaSah wine is truly an award winner. We also went the Vera Earl Beef which sell aged beef..so good. Also of note is the Copper Brothel Brewery where I had the best chicarrones ever and I don't want to leave out The Corner Scoop for the best breakfast burritos. Prints by deGrazia and Maderas, and others I didn't recognize. There was a fan set in the stomach of a metal horse sculpture! There was also a drawing of a cow.... The bathroom was tiny; this room is not recommended for larger than average people. The other bathrooms are apparently bigger. Off this room, a lovely little atrium. Bed was comfy, but a bit squeaky. Next time we will request the library room, which looks amazing. There's also a bunkhouse if you want to stick your whole family in one room. The owners invited us out for dinner our first night, and also to a pig roast the next day! Everyone was extremely friendly. The pig roast featured bluegrass musicians and also a vegetarian option. We spent most of our time wandering around Harshaw Creek, Patagonia Lake State Park, and Sonoita Creek Natural area. It's a beautiful part of the country. Personally, I like to choose my own breakfast and eat it with people I know, but if you're a fan of the B&B model, you can't go wrong here. Tom, the owner, goes out of his way to make the food fancy and ample. Lots of lively conversation. We were very sad to go home.

They have a large collaborative living room and kitchen as well as a shared pool and multiple rooftop balconies for panoramic desert views and mingling with other guests. We struggled to open the keypad to the main living room and within minutes the owners Sarah and Rich were helping virtually and their on site manager Mariah came over to let us in.
