I was not a vegetarian until I tasted the best 'steak' I had ever had, made by Chef Ciree. I knew then that I must find a way to adjust my budget so I could cont to partake in her culinary delights and I haven't been sorry. Chef Ciree has a magical touch when it comes to finding the perfect blend and balance with her seasoning and the first bite is always like unwrapping a colorful gift. Her hamburgers are so sinfully delicious I forget they are healthy. Chef Ciree is a masterful chef that I highly recommend and stand behind! Lysa G. read more

Thank you, Jim. I loved cooking for you and your openness to try new…
A group I volunteer with (and serve on the board of) recently contracted Ciree Linsenman to cater a large, upscale banquet we hold every year. The food had to be vegan, though, as we're an animal advocacy group. To our delight, we discovered that Ms. Linsenman, aside from being one of the only gourmet vegan caterers in the Twin Cities and the Upper Midwest, also is one of the best and most inventive chefs around. To make such sophisticated food, let alone vegan food, requires both skill and creativity, which she certainly does not lack. The food she made got rave reviews from our 70+ guests (especially her peanut-cinnamon soup, and her "cheddar quenelle" main dish) and also showed people just how good vegan food can be. At the elegant tasting event she held for us before the actual banquet, I was also amazed by her veganized version of "fesenjan," an Iranian stew made with pomegranate and a multitude of spices. Ms. Linsenman made accessible a traditionally meat-based dish and, as such, much be applauded for opening up new possibilities in the vegan food world. One key touch in the dish that I found remarkable was her home-made seitan (a beef-substitute made of wheat gluten). I was also impressed with Ms. Linsenman's ability to gracefully handle the chaos and uncertainties of planning a large event. Moreover, she listens intently and doesn't have any kind of diva-attitude; Ms. Linsenman is eager to always deliver on her clients' needs, and she's able to take abstract ideas and turn them into concrete results. Often times, I'm not sure WE knew what we wanted, but Ms. Linsenman was able to figure out what we needed. Moreover, Ms. Linsenman has a great sense of humor and knows how to be both an entertainer and a professional caterer. This set us all at ease as we knew she was on top of things, wasn't fazed by last-minutes changes, and didn't need to be overly-directed to get the job done. She's also talented in other arenas, namely photography, videography and cooking classes. I had the pleasure of attending one of her dog biscuit-making classes, which was enormously fun; it was like a small party, with a hands-on activity, and plenty of delicious food and wine to make the workshop even more interesting. And, while my group hasn't used her as a videographer, one need only look at her work to see she has great skills in marketing and framing things in a way to attract the most attention to your business. I was particularly impressed with the video work she's done for Ethique Nouveau, a boutique store in south Minneapolis. Ms. Linsenman's array of talents, and her wry sense of humor, make her a pleasure to work with. Her food is easily among the best you'll find in the Twin Cities and I just hope she'll open a restaurant in the near future, because we need one, and she's one of few chefs capable of doing it right. read more

I can't say enough good things about Ciree Linsenman. She is absolutely fantastic at what she does. I attended her Vegan cooking class and was amazed by her ability to teach a wide range of people. She engaged a group of quiet people and made us all feel comfortable and welcome. She has a curiosity in the world that serves her well in teaching these classes. She is a wonderfully creative vegan chef and uses a wide variety of ingredients to make the food interesting. I also attended a Vegan Tasting and found the food to be excellent. Again, Ciree made everyone feel welcome. We had an awesome time eating magnificent food with great conversation. read more

Ciree is a treasure of information on vegetarian cooking. The food tastes GREAT! and the tips and tricks are worthwhile for any foodie. The marsala meetballs with zesty sour cream, lemon chikken, burgundy crimini gravy, coconut basil pesto were all capable of converting any carnivore to consider a new diet. Ciree is fun and engaging, knows her stuff but doesn't take herself too seriously ...very inviting to asking questions and discussion...makes a fun evening for all attendees. read more
I went to a vegan cooking class taught by Ciree and had an absolutely fabulous time. I kinda feel like anyone can follow a recipe if they are given step-by-step instructions, but this class was different. She went over how different flavors combine (sweet, sour, hot, etc) and what types of ingredients can be used in place of other things. There were no hard-n-fast measurements about how much of this or how much of that; instead, she went over consistencies and flavors. Not only did I learn a bunch of great vegan recipes (that we then all got to eat), but I learned about the art of combining ingredients to make great food. If you are a vegetarian and are curious about to lean more to the vegan side, this is the cooking class that you've always wanted to take. The menu changes every class, so you can take them over and over again. Incredibly reasonably priced and the other students provided a great social experience as well. I had a fantastic time and certainly intend to do it again! read more

Last week I went to Ciree's class: "Vegetarian Cooking - The Ultimate Cheeze and Meet Experience." I'm a pretty serious vegetarian cook, but I learned a LOT of new stuff about vegan and vegetarian cooking - recipes, methods, resources. The food was fabulous. Ciree is a genius with spices. Who knew that vegan cooking could be so delicious! I had a lot of fun at the class, and came home with a powerhouse of information. I'm looking forward to attending her class on "Compassionate Pates and Cheezes". read more

Ciree's cooking classes are a blast! Not only do you learn how to make some kick-butt healthy food, but she adds a bunch of humor as well. For anyone who thinks Vegan cooking is unexciting, think again! I'm talking major YUM! The best part is that you learn about healthy cool ingredients that you're not used to cooking with that are the key to making fantastic cuisine. I'm a major foodie, and am thrilled to now know how to expand my culinary horizons, content in the fact that I'm nourishing my health while doing good for the earth. I can't wait to take her next class! read more

I've recently participated in two of the Devine Ms. Ciree's cooking classes and I cannot wait to take another! I've been Vegan for long enough that I know how to cook the basics, but her classes have taken my basic cooking to the next level! She is super fun, entertaining and knowledgeable and really knows how to keep the group engaged. I can't wait to take another class and look forward to utilzing her as a caterer in the near future! read more

The class was great! It was really cool how we were able to go to the Indian restaurant before we made the meal so we could see the ingredients that we were using and what the ethnic ingredients were called. The food was amazing. Ciree was really passionate about what she was making so it made it a lot more meaningful. Overall I would take another one of her courses for sure. I reccommend it for anyone who is considering a cooking class. read more

History
Established in 2002.
From cooking classes in the Bay Area, CA to personal tutoring for health, nutritional and goals of hedonism, the service has evolved by listening to what transitioning people want. A favorite is the ultimate celebratory conclusion of two lucky vegans finding one another: the Vegan Wedding! With many different palates to satisfy (yes, even old Uncle Earl who lives on ribs) and artfully designing the theme to reflect the values of the family, this service redefines itself each time. Catering animal rights celebrations reinforces what I've worked my entire life to effect. I'm grateful to groups like Compassionate Action for Animals (CAA) and The Animal Rights Coalition (ARC) in Minneapolis for choosing me to assist them. In fall 2011 I look forward to assisting the hard working vegans in Portland in making their lives easier, healthier and as delicious as possible.
Meet the Business Owner: Ciree L.
Ciree Linsenman has had an absolute love affair with the world of animals since she was a little girl. She's come a long way from dressing up the family cat in doll clothes in her goals of animal welfare. Her belief that cruelty-free, high art cooking and education is an essential road to changing the current status of animals as product led her to developing down-to-earth methods for learners at all levels. Her classes are non-political, nurturing and come from a place of love. Intuitive cooking is the style that she is most known for and can be accredited to growing up with a wild Italian mother who passionately "threw fistsful of this and that to create the most delicious concoctions". She has been cooking professionally since 1999 and has learned the most from her mother, and secondarily from the great many chef friends along the way. Her other interests include being outdoors every single second that she can, conservationist writing, mountain biking, camping.

Ciree's cooking class was extremely enjoyable and informative. Her food instincts are nothing short of brilliant...we made gorgeous towers of roasted vegetables and polenta, festooned by rosemary sprig spines, over a pool of kalamata sauce, coconut curry tomato soup and a vegan ice cream bomb that brought tears to my eyes. She sent her students away with enough left-overs for an ample lunch the next day. Ciree is cool, serene, funny and wise ,and even her throw-away comments are worth writing down. For example, she mentioned that mixing coconut milk with a packet of ghiradelli brownie mix (accidentally vegan), will yield a heavenly rich brownie. I tried this yesterday, and it was the best brownie I ever tasted. Most importantly, Ciree has an artistic eye, so each dish is visually pleasing, and sometimes even an architectural marvel (see towers, above). And she makes cooking seem SO easy. I would highly recommend her class to beginning and advanced cooks. read more

I took a cooking class from Ciree and she has also catered events that I have attended. She is THE BEST vegan cook I have encountered and has a delightful personality. I have made up several of her recipes and my friends and family (who are not even vegetarian, let alone vegan) have all loved them. I would highly recommend her catering services and/or classes. read more

Ciree is extremely knowledgeable about vegan cooking. The Burgundy Crimini Gravy, Vegan Cheddar and Zesty Sour Cream we made in class were all wonderful! I didn't know vegan cooking could taste so good. She is very helpful, she'll even go shopping with you! Not only is Ciree a great cook and teacher, but she has a great sense of humor.
