The problem I had on my first visit was that I asked for 1/2 lb of carnitas and 1/2 lb of tripas. I don't know about you but soggy tripas are not my thing. I specifically asked her to bring me them "dorados" and she said sure. She brought them soggy like the skin of a chicken soggy. Not even exaggerating. So I told her they weren't dorados and she insisted I try them because "estaban muy ricos". I tried but I got sick and grossed out at the sogginess. I told her and she said it's because "no a todos les gusta así" and that she usually tells the customers that it's an added wait time for them to make them "dorados". I told her then why didn't she give me the option. She said well "es que dijo el cocinero que se hacen amargas". I told her that it's my preference and the customers opinion on how they want their food cooked prevails over the cooks opinion. She said "yo nomas trabajo aquí". 20 excuses later....and she finally took them back and brought them swimming in oil. Dorados but looked like they threw them in the fryer instead of doing it on the grill/pan. Better than soggy I guess. Nonetheless I won't be coming back. I'll bring my dad but I'll eat something else. So...tortillas were good!! Thanks for reading. The carne guisada in the second one was tender and flavorful, but too soggy to pick up in the taco. My husband ordered maricos soup, which was also bland, watery, and had only 3 small pieces of fish and a decent amount of shrimp. When I went to the counter to pay, I had to inform the cashier that my tea was supposed to be free. They also charge more for sweet tea than they do unsweet which was $3.54 in a regular sized glass, even though you can add all the sugar you want at the table.
